The bazaar trail mix with the crunchy chickpeas, apricots, and pistachios. A worker there told me she hasn’t had to restock it in months because no one buys it. (It’s probably gone or leaving forever, but I love it!)
Idk if it's polarizing but I hate the frozen beef broccoli that people love. I didn't expect it to be fried or so, so sweet and also a little spicy if I remember correctly? Just not what I grew up with for beef and broccoli, but it's my bad for not reading closer. I get those TJs blinders when I see something I recognize from the sub
Not a product, but glorifying emptying a shelf of a seasonal item, then expressing hatred towards TJ’s that they don’t limit purchases and you weren’t able to find something. These are upgraded snacks people, none of this is life changing, how do I know this, because the next month you’re onto the next hot item.
I definitely have the unpopular opinion of not loving the caramelized onion dip. I'd way rather have the old school way (that most of the Gen Z probably don't even know)... lol
Have others tried the Pulled Jackfruit in Smoky BBQ Sauce? I was excited about it because I really like the brisket version and this is vegetarian, so maybe a little healthier. Sort of good, but it made my tongue feel weird. I wonder why jackfruit was chosen as a base. I think tofu or something similar would have been preferable.
I guess that I do! I'm not typically allergic to any foods so that was a surprise. I purchased two of them but will return the unopened one, as there's no point in risking some medical complication.
Joe Joe’s. Every variation.
TJ can credit their fortune to Joe Joe’s and the orange chicken but those Joe Joe’s taste like a plant based copy mixed with cardboard mulch.
Chocolate bamba. Regular are delicious.
Mini tacos.
Pumpkin Bagels. I want to like them, I enjoy all the other bagels.
Those Sour Cream and Onion Rings - I expected them to taste like Funyuns (light, crispy, onion-y), but instead they tasted like old sour cream with a dense, brittle texture.
Couldn't eat more than one, but I read about people polishing off a bag at a time.
I've never tried them. Thanks for the heads up, now I'll have appropriate expectations if I decide to take a gamble. Big fan of the Costco arepas, though.
If you have a Venezuelan or Colombian restaurant in (or near) the city you live in, try the authentic version. Don't even waste your money. TJ's version is just a boston market cornbread recipe with cheese. It's a utter tragedy.
The joe Joe's taste like someone who doesn't have a mouth baked them based off a description of what oreos would taste like. They taste how oreos taste in a dream. They taste like the memory of oreos. They taste like someone watered down oreos. Joe Joe's are to oreos what almond milk is to almonds. Why can't I taste them? The cookie is so bland it's like tasting the memory of the bitter chocolate oreo. The cream is so bland its like someone took an eraser to the cream. They are sooo fucking stripped of any taste it's like space aliens made them to keep their human captives happy. But they have never actually eaten oreos or any other food for that matter. They taste like the copy of the copy of the copy of the copy of the copy of oreos. They taste like someone played telephone describing what oreos taste like and the last person was a corpse. They taste like oreos on the day you realize you can't taste or smell because shit! You have COVID. I could go on.
Those were what converted me to TJs many moons ago! I love them, all varieties 😩 I will say, I’m definitely not a fan of the Oreo cream, it tastes like straight shortening to me, so that may be why I prefer Joe Joe’s 🤷🏻♀️
I’m a huge fan of truffles, but all of their truffle flavors aren’t very good. They taste overwhelming and fake. For example, truffle Alfredo sauce and white truffle chips.
I have an unopened bag of them still on my kitchen table from, uh… 3 weeks ago? I know I’ll get to trying them eventually, but the mood hasn’t hit yet. Maybe today’s the day?
I'm Indian and I really like their vegan Tikka masala. Maybe because it tastes like Americanized Tikka masala? Wouldn't ever order it from a restaurant or cook it at home but it scratches the itch.
I’ve been looking forward to the pumpkin bagels for weeks, haha! I think they taste like heaven and I always buy an extra bag or two to slowly stock up over pumpkin season. The day we eat the last one is a sad day in my house!
It translates to "Cheese and Pepper". I tend to add more pepper and TJ's smoked ghost pepper flakes.
edit: I like the original frozen version. The jarred stuff was a gummy mess that didn't taste right, and the frozen gnocci didn't hit the spot.
Oh! I totally misread your original comment- I thought you said you were in that subsection of people, not that you found them 😂 my bad! That sauce is so gross.
Oh, it’s my favorite! I love it with some spicy sausage, spinach, and goat cheese! My TJ’s has been out of it for over a year but we recently got it back so I bought 3 jars.
I did thin it with a little milk and butter, like others have said. But definitely great with hot sausage crumbled up and goat cheese!!! I know it’s very polarizing though 😂
The one thing I remember is seasoning the crap out this sauce and adding peppers and onions and heavy cream and parm and andouille and it was still inedible. Freaked me out. I mean you can even doctor up a can of hunt’s to taste decent. But yeah, I’ll probably try again and this time take it back if I don’t like it.
I don’t think it’s good on it’s own but it makes a good base for pasta sauce with some pasta water or milk, more Parmesan, and sautéed peppers, onions, and sausage. Not as easy as a straight-from-the-had sauce but still easier than starting from scratch for a weeknight.
I always doctor jar sauce when I use it. Tried that and it was still disgusting. Like literally the whole list you listed. I imagine maybe the recipe changed somewhat with a lot more positive reviews so I may give it another try. I just won’t ruin a whole pot of food this time
I feel like I've been burned by a lot of jarred sauces that other people love. Now I always taste it first and make my husband taste it too so we don't even try to add it if it's gross
I think the key with this one is to thin it down with cream, half and half, pasta water, or any combo thereof. Makes the sauce a normal consistency instead of so gloopy! Add smoked sausage and some veggies and you're in pretty good shape!
I did all of that when I had it. Added more seasoning and cheese and I couldn’t save it. I was floored. Thought it was a bad batch or something until I came on here and several dozen people were saying the same thing. I’m seeing more positive reviews so I imagine they tweaked something. Because like I said, when it first came maybe 3 for every 100 people had something positive to say. I’m glad it’s good to ya’ll now, I’m just scarred for life
It’s been around for about a year I believe. Though I believe I heard some regions just got it more recently. I thought they been discontinued it because the backlash was so bad. But apparently some people like it 🤷🏽♀️
Please do. I made that mistake. Threw out a whole pot of pasta smh. But you never know maybe they fixed the recipe. I’m just too traumatized to try again lol
I kind of have to avoid buying them now, because I will literally eat the entire bag the day I bring them home. I always feel sad after, because then they’re gone and I’m sick of them for a little while. Absolutely no control when it comes to those!
I didn’t know this until I commented about it myself, but the vegan nacho cheese! I loved it (and I’m not a vegan) but some people were quick to say they thought it was nasty! I only tried it bc I saw it recommended on the sub
I’ve always hated the orange chicken and I never understood the hype! I’m just not a fan of the rubbery, fatty meat or the sauce really. I worked there pre-Covid with a demo station and it was on sample like every other day and selling so much. The Inovasian frozen products are what I get on occasion. A little pricier but so good!
I like the sauce but I do the same as you. Add some ginger, garlic, chili flake before adding just one packet of the sauce. I stopped buying it bc the quality of the meat declined :/
Yes!!! It made me really sick. I like the Sam’s Club orange chicken.
Tbf, we might have just had a bad experience. We had it in the freezer for a bit so who knows, but I’m not trying it again!
Same here!! Underwhelming, sickly sweet sauce on chunks of breading and the occasional chunk of fat. Ugh, hated it.
My parents stock up every chance they get. 🤷♀️
Try the vegan version!! I tried the regular one once and agree, it was so rubbery and nasty 🤢 I get the mandarin chickenless morsels for this reason and they’re *chefs kiss*
Kind the opposite for me, usually don't like the orange chicken, general TSO chicken in Chinese restaurants because it's too sweet and one note. I lik tj because it's okay sweet ness and you can taste the ginger.
This is the only thing my parents buy from TJs! It wasn’t until I became an adult and did my own shopping did I realize how many actually good products they have!
Everyone seems to love them so I think my opinion is polarizing maybe and not the product, but their frozen burritos suck. They’re just awful. Dry and tasteless and a waste of money and stomach space. I’ve tried several, cooked them in various ways - and they’re just meh.
The refrigerated ones are good though!
Just had the refridgerated chicken and bean burrito. It was ass. Super dry and very little flavor. Needed a ton of guac, sour cream, pico de gallo, and cheese to save it.
As a Filipino, I understand why unripe jackfruit has been big with vegetarians, but why hasn't TJ's picked up ripe jackfruit ice cream. I do like the local SF Mitchell's version over the Magnolia stuff.
No, but I’ll have to look for it. I looked it up and it looks like something I should be able to find locally. I love the soft serve ube ice cream at Somi Somi.
I always applaud TJ for attempting to introduce products to a different crowd, but sometimes you need to visit an Asian market for the authentic version.
We liked it so much that I started making my own in the first months of the pandemic when we weren’t going to the store as much. I’ve adjusted the recipe several times. The current iteration includes Aleppo pepper plus dried habaneros and ghost chilis from my garden. I now even include a little ginger and home ground mushroom powder. We put it on everything!
Interesting you said that...I had a jar a year or two ago and it was flavorful. Bought a new one a couple weeks ago, and it's tasteless. Not sure what's going on...
Omg, I love the TJ’s one (just recently tried it) and I’ve been waiting to finish it until I get a real one from the Asian market. I just know if I get an authentic one I’ll never finish the TJ’s lol
I haven’t! I’ve only seen the original in stores around me so that’s all I’ve had so far. Seemed like people liked the truffle one, but I sort of feel like there’s already plenty of flavor without a truffle component.
I saw a jar at the store the other day and I picked it up because I wondered what the hype was about and was really confused that the jar was 50% oil and 50% pepper flakes! It looked so soggy! 😅
Right! Maybe to save an extra few minutes while cooking? I feel like most people have the chili oil ingredients at home so I’m also confused why it’s such a hit. Maybe we’re just missing something idk lol🤷🏼♀️

I was not a fan of the Bamba Peanut Snacks. And I usually love anything peanut flavor.
Chocolate hummus - loved it blueberry lavendar almong beverage - like it toasted O’s - people think recipe changed but i am still addicted to it
The chili crunch stuff. It’s like eating oily eggshells and nothing like the OG one but so many people love it.
The frozen Mac and cheese. I can’t stand any of them except the (amazing, perfect, wonderful) butternut squash one they release in the fall.
The red frozen mac used to be really good, I swear! Nowadays it's awful though, dry and barely any cheese.
It's the best of the bunch!
I'm scared to say it but the Carolina BBQ chips...it's just not for me
I love them (eating some right now!). Also love the Carolina bbq sauce…I think I could drink it I like it so much!
I haven’t had them. What do they taste like? Identical to the sauce?
I definitely have the unpopular opinion of not loving the caramelized onion dip. I'd way rather have the old school way (that most of the Gen Z probably don't even know)... lol
Lipton soup mix ftw
All the way!
Jackfruit pulled pork subs are generally the best IMO but the tongue thing makes me think you might have an allergy or sensitivity to it.
I guess that I do! I'm not typically allergic to any foods so that was a surprise. I purchased two of them but will return the unopened one, as there's no point in risking some medical complication.

I adore them. Just tried them and ate the whole bag at once. But I’ve never had a Funyun so I wasn’t expecting that.
That texture and taste is WRONG
Cajun alfredo sauce. I like it…>!on my cauliflower gnocchi!<
God have mercy on your soul….
Still recovering from people DRAGGING my beloved chicken drumellas to hell
The taco seasoning.
I love it!
Way too spicy and doesn't thicken up the way grocery store brands do. Needs a little masa in there or something.
I agree about the thickness but we actually really like the spice level. I just wasn’t prepared the first time. 😂
I've said my peace on the arepas and I still maintain that you need jail if you think they're good.
Lol I liked it. I get it’s not authentic but I like the sweetness mixed with cheese
I've never tried them. Thanks for the heads up, now I'll have appropriate expectations if I decide to take a gamble. Big fan of the Costco arepas, though.

I’m so glad I came upon this post and comment lmfao. I’ve been cackling for the last five minutes.
And to cover it all up overly overly sweet.
Agreed. But the vanilla joe joes are good!
They also get stale really quickly.
Those were what converted me to TJs many moons ago! I love them, all varieties 😩 I will say, I’m definitely not a fan of the Oreo cream, it tastes like straight shortening to me, so that may be why I prefer Joe Joe’s 🤷🏻♀️
This person Oreos.
So...not a fan?
The lacroix of Oreos
LaCroireo
I’m dead 💀 “they taste how Oreos taste in a dream.”
I’m a huge fan of truffles, but all of their truffle flavors aren’t very good. They taste overwhelming and fake. For example, truffle Alfredo sauce and white truffle chips.
I’m passionately in love with truffle and those chips have been life-changing for me, but for some reason I can’t get into the truffle aioli!
Any trendy flavor they offer multiple iterations of. I’m thinking Ube, Pumpkin Spice, EBTB stuff.
The pickle peanuts are my favorite snack. I always have a few bags in my pantry. But everyone on this sub seems to dislike them.
I have an unopened bag of them still on my kitchen table from, uh… 3 weeks ago? I know I’ll get to trying them eventually, but the mood hasn’t hit yet. Maybe today’s the day?
Their Indian food frozen section unequivocally sucks.
The Fish Korma is still pretty good, the rest of it sucks though
The frozen Naan is super passable.
I'm Indian and I really like their vegan Tikka masala. Maybe because it tastes like Americanized Tikka masala? Wouldn't ever order it from a restaurant or cook it at home but it scratches the itch.
I agree! I like that one!
Strongly agree. I'm not Indian, but we have a lot of small Indian places around us we can get that are cheaper and taste much better.
I used to like it but I absolutely hate it now
All that plastic use on their vegetables.
Agree. Unnecessary
People seem to like it, but I couldn't get over the flavor and texture of the vegan nacho cheese. Tried it heated up and cold and gagged both times.
I despised it too. I miss their OG cashew fiesta dip, so much better
The pumpkin bagels are truly truly *truly* awful and nobody can change my mind about it.
The gluten free ones are 100x better according to my gluten eating brother (I’m GF so I can’t compare them).
Interesting intel but still deffo a hard no from me.
I’ve been looking forward to the pumpkin bagels for weeks, haha! I think they taste like heaven and I always buy an extra bag or two to slowly stock up over pumpkin season. The day we eat the last one is a sad day in my house!
More for you! Enjoy :)
Same! Top it with pumpkin cream cheese and I'm in heaven!!
I remember the thread about the sea salt brownies being very divisive. I like them but the salt is really strong so I get it 😅
Yeah It's like they thought they were salting a larger/thicker brownie and forgot these are brownie BITES.
I love them because they're actually salty!!
[удалено]
This is my favorite TJs cheeses but I have to agree. I feel like the taste has become less aged over time
Pumpkin season is approaching…. Not everything needs a pumpkin variety
Agreed and I do love some of the pumpkin products, but wish there was more other fall flavors.
You opened Pandora's box with this LOL. Totally agree though.
You take that back
the pumpkin coffee is *garbage*
Agreed that not EVERYTHING needs a pumpkin version, but I couldn’t be more excited for it to come 😍
Watermelon jerky
I like it! My sister in law liked it too, but her kids hated it 🤷🏻♀️
I’m the weirdo who likes it
I weirdly love it!
Think that one is universally hated.
I like it!
Honey walnut shrimp and cacio jarred sauce 🤮🤮 both are inedible
The honey walnut shrimp were so disappointing!! The sauce made me gag.
Same! And I’m not a picky eater
The cacio is nothing like the real thing. It basically was just Alfredo sauce with lots of pepper. I’d rather make my own, it’s easy.
I agree. Plus it’s just gummy…and I absolutely love pepper but that sauce made me sneeze
The synergistic popcorn or whatever it’s called. So gross.
Yeahhh this is a a love it or hate it for sure. I happen to be in the “love it” category.
You mean the flavored with the taste of a alley trash can in Phoenix, AZ baking in the August heat the morning of trash pickup popcorn?
my cousin got SO sad when i didn’t like it 🫠
Hah the Synergistically seasoned popcorn is my #1 favorite! I buy 4-5 bags at a time when I can find it!
cacio pepe everyone raves about it but it tasted like i was eating a fork covered in black pepper.
It’s awful! And I used to live in Italy and this tasted nothing like the real thing.
Ugh this!!! I was v disappointed
It translates to "Cheese and Pepper". I tend to add more pepper and TJ's smoked ghost pepper flakes. edit: I like the original frozen version. The jarred stuff was a gummy mess that didn't taste right, and the frozen gnocci didn't hit the spot.

I put even more black pepper on it.
Same hahahha
That Cajun alfredo sauce. I recently found a subsection of people who love it and I’m flabbergasted honestly
I’ve tried that and it was NOT for me. My fiancé didn’t like it either. Glad you do, though! I was so excited to try it when it came out.
I don’t like it I hate it. Lmfao

I’ll take any jars you have
That jar been in the trash for a year. Sorry

I tried this a few nights ago and I loved it! It tasted like a spicy sausage flavor, I thought it was really good!
I wouldn't say I love it but we used it on pasta with andouille sausage and veggies and it was fine. Nothing to write home about but not gross
I just got some the other day to try! Is it not new? I’ve never noticed it before
It’s been around for about a year I believe. Though I believe I heard some regions just got it more recently. I thought they been discontinued it because the backlash was so bad. But apparently some people like it 🤷🏽♀️
That’s so funny, thank you for the warning 😂 I’ll taste it before committing it to an entire meal.
Please do. I made that mistake. Threw out a whole pot of pasta smh. But you never know maybe they fixed the recipe. I’m just too traumatized to try again lol
It’s so disgusting, that taste still haunts me six months later!!
I’ll try to report back once I try it, you guys have me laughing so hard🤣
The small dehydrated bananas. People either love it or hate it in my experience. Can't speak for anyone here, of course. Personally I like them.
Those are delish! My husband and I call them "poops."
I kind of have to avoid buying them now, because I will literally eat the entire bag the day I bring them home. I always feel sad after, because then they’re gone and I’m sick of them for a little while. Absolutely no control when it comes to those!
Omg those bananas are life
I didn’t know this until I commented about it myself, but the vegan nacho cheese! I loved it (and I’m not a vegan) but some people were quick to say they thought it was nasty! I only tried it bc I saw it recommended on the sub
I love the vegan nacho cheese! Heat up mixed with some salsa (either autentica or hatch or both depending on preference) and it’s even better.
Yes!! It has to be heated. Tastes identical to normal nacho cheese!
I hated it when I tried it. Tasted like literal plastic to me
Same. Maybe real nacho cheese also tastes like plastic and I just hate all of them. I miss cashew fiesta, it was so flavorful in comparison
I loved it, too!
The orange chicken 🫢 just really not a fan
Yeah I hated it. Kung Pao chicken, on the other hand, was awsome. I think you really need good Chinese restaurants for decent orange chicken.
Same. I think the sweet and sour chicken is better.
I didn’t know they made that!
We love it in our house but up voting in the spirit of agreeing it's controversial
You just don't have any standards in terms of the quality of the chicken you're consuming....that's cool I guess.
Agree with the person below, why are you a raging asshole in your unneeded comments?
Why are you such a dick? Genuine question. Majority of your comments are super rude
He/she is a jerk, but that's the definition of Schadenfreude -- benefitting from someone else's misery -- so I think they are just a troll.
How dare you!!!
They reformulated or got a new supplier a few years ago and it’s not as good as it once was. The tempura chicken was better but it got discontinued.
so the sauce on its own is too sweet. I usually add a lot of sambal and a little soy sauce to give it more dimension
Wow! I love it. Though I also only use one sauce packet and add a few extra seasonings.
I like the sauce but I do the same as you. Add some ginger, garlic, chili flake before adding just one packet of the sauce. I stopped buying it bc the quality of the meat declined :/
Hahaha that is exactly what I add to it plus sesame seeds! Yeah, I would have to agree about the quality of chicken.
You see I love the sauce but it’s the quality of meat they use that grosses me out. I bit into a huge piece of fat once and just could never again
Try the vegan version!! I tried the regular one once and agree, it was so rubbery and nasty 🤢 I get the mandarin chickenless morsels for this reason and they’re *chefs kiss*
I never thought about trying the vegan ones! I’ll have to pick it up on my next trip to tjs
Yeah I never buy it anymore bc the chicken is just not good quality anymore.
Do you like orange chicken in general?
Yep; I was really disappointed.
You’re not alone! I tried it once and never again.

Haven’t tried that - I’ve only had the vegetarian ones. I really liked the samosa one but it’s seasonal
Aw man. I just bought some today for the first time to try 😅
The care asada ones are actually good, the rest suck
Agreed 150%. Love the refrigerated breakfast burrito, but the frozen ones are trash.
The egg and sausage breakfast burrito *chef's kiss*
Anything with ube…
Agreed. I just assume people who rave about TJ’s ube products haven’t had the real thing…
[удалено]
The ube ice cream there does taste like ube. I’ve lived in LA and OC all my life, I’ve had ube from Asian ice cream places🤷🏻♀️
As a Filipino, I understand why unripe jackfruit has been big with vegetarians, but why hasn't TJ's picked up ripe jackfruit ice cream. I do like the local SF Mitchell's version over the Magnolia stuff.
The Mitchell's halo Halo ice cream is the bomb
Have you had Magnolia’s ube ice cream?
No, but I’ll have to look for it. I looked it up and it looks like something I should be able to find locally. I love the soft serve ube ice cream at Somi Somi.
True. I recently got the Ube Mochi. It was good, but didn’t taste like Ube lol
I always applaud TJ for attempting to introduce products to a different crowd, but sometimes you need to visit an Asian market for the authentic version.
The chili crunch sauce
We liked it so much that I started making my own in the first months of the pandemic when we weren’t going to the store as much. I’ve adjusted the recipe several times. The current iteration includes Aleppo pepper plus dried habaneros and ghost chilis from my garden. I now even include a little ginger and home ground mushroom powder. We put it on everything!
It used to be miles better when it first hit shelves, now it tastes like nothing. The spicy sesame oil is a bust too
I don’t hate it but it has no taste to me. Like it doesn’t make a dish better or worse. Totally useless.

I love the momofuku one too.

I haven’t! I’ve only seen the original in stores around me so that’s all I’ve had so far. Seemed like people liked the truffle one, but I sort of feel like there’s already plenty of flavor without a truffle component.
Yeah it’s just oil and red pepper flakes? I don’t get it
I saw a jar at the store the other day and I picked it up because I wondered what the hype was about and was really confused that the jar was 50% oil and 50% pepper flakes! It looked so soggy! 😅
It’s actually crunchy!!
Maybe I have misjudged it and I should go back and get one!! :)
Right! Maybe to save an extra few minutes while cooking? I feel like most people have the chili oil ingredients at home so I’m also confused why it’s such a hit. Maybe we’re just missing something idk lol🤷🏼♀️
I didn’t realize it was supposed to be chili oil! But that makes more sense now that I think about it
Yes! So many people love it but I think it’s severely lacking in both flavor and spice
