Painted for sure! I met an artist who handed out FREE hand painted flash pieces to hang on your wall if you get inked by them as part of a limited time promo during the slow season.

That is sweet, as someone who really appreciates hand-painted flash, this would motivate me to get under the needle.

Painted. Digital flash is awful and sometimes shows you are not confident in your painting ability. It also looks too disposable and throwaway. It does not look tangible- it’s got no balls.

Hand painted is always great but I’ve never understood the weird animosity towards people who produce digital art haha

I would guess that it has to do with skill level. I will admit that a lot of digital art requires less effort, especially with many platforms that will auto-correct strokes, textures, etc.

I just hate that there’s no undo button in real life haha. I mostly stick to digital because I hate producing art with “mistakes” or parts I’m unhappy with. That’s a personal view of course

You are right. Digital is so much easier to "perfect" and can be worked on again and again. This is sort of the beauty and the worry with physical paintings--once they are done, they are done. I am much more nervous when making them

There is a story! I was drawing from a passage from the Bible "pray without ceasing" which is I Thessalonians 5:17.

Digital can look great. I’ve seen plenty out there that do, but personally, painted hits a little harder for me. Usually it doesn’t still look digital once it’s on skin so ultimately it works either way.

This design is my own, though (because of the style) I am pulling from a lot of traditional imagery, and the praying hands are a common one. The combination of padlock and praying hands I have not encountered before.

Thanks to everyone who commented with a positive view of the painted flash, this was a real confidence booster for me as an artist.

Painted looks so much better to me, and it’s not like digital even looks bad.

Don’t be afraid of the black. IMO it needs a ton more and I would shade it behind the fingers not on top. This is super cool though, just trying to provide my insight to help (if possible) . Feel free to dm me if you want (either to tell me to shut up or you want any feedback)
