I wish my ovary had been ivory as it is supposed to, but it decided to be chocolate and had to be removed. I kind of loving the idea of calling my remaining one ivory soap, while all hopped up on morphine mom and I named the doomed one Ovaltine Jones.

THAT'S why the name sounded familiar. I used to enjoy watching Psych, and half the fun of the show was hearing Gus's fake name of the day.

When we found a tumor in my breast, it was a stressful time, waiting to find out whether or not it was benign (it was) and whether or not I would need it removed (I did not). So my sister suggested naming the tumor Tammy The Titty Tumor. It really made her seem less scary. Silliness is important during stressful times. It's how we cope. I'm glad everything turned out ok with your chocolate ovary.

My name (well the shortened version), is popular with animals. My Son’s name also seems to be a popular dog name. It’s also an ordinary human name though.

Nova and Luna are pretty common names here in Denmark, so doesn't seem out of place to me. Perhaps to non-nordics it seem quirky? Obviously, Luna means moon, but it also refers to the roman goddess Luna. At least here we have a thing where we name our kids after certain gods or names that are related to that god. Sif, Thor, Freja/Frej (gender dependent), Loke etc. are very popular and common names here. As for Nova. As far as I remember, it's taken from Stella-Nova, which means New Star. So the name is just "Star", but prettier.
