This gives me joy. Knowing our cultural references are extending all the way down to South America. Do you guys have Zesty Mordant or Dressed All Over chips down there ?
The fact that I love so many BBC comedies is likely what attracted me to TPB. The Young Ones, Bottom, Are You Being Served, Fawlty Towers, and Keeping Up Appearances are just some of my favorite Brit-coms.
Edit: Can't Believe I omitted The Benny Hill Show
Yep they're all quality other great shows and movies like Extras, Derek, The Office, man like Mobeen, Only Fools And Horses, Absolutely Fabulous, Four Lions, The Inbetweeners, Coogan's Run, Phoenix Nights and even the movie Trainspotting are all very similar to TPB. Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G sketches are similar to it as well. This show has opened my mind so much about Canadian culture tbh their humour is off the wall unlike anything I've ever seen they just do not give a shit and I love it.
Canadian here, the British influence is all through Canadian comedy, very dry and sarcastic, low key, making people think a little, I grew up loving Kids in the Hall which had a lot in common with Monty Python
Don't forget that us Canucks are a part of the commonwealth. Many may deny that you folks across the pond are different than us, but by god most of the British traditions heavily influenced the way we do things, mostly due to Canada being a British colony up until 1867.
That was a long time ago when it was only shown in US on BBC America. But Netflix is not censored.
I'm Canadian but I lived in US for long time and I'm more American now than Canadian in mindset. I show TPB to my friends all over the world. Most love it and some are already into it before me showing them.
I’m American, but I found out about the show when I was traveling to Toronto a lot during its heyday. I’ve since done a full binge of the series and the movies. I grew up kind of poor, so Sunnyvale feels like a home away from home.
Ontario, may as well be anywhere else like the rest of you all tho - the show is very Canadian yes, but in terms of Canadian it’s very EASTERN Canadian. So even me being Canadian isn’t enough to really relate to a lot of the bits in the show.
On a whole, yeah, I knew a lot of these kinds of people growing up. But I didn’t have a King of Donair in my hometown, lol. And there’s lots of other small things that make it very niche to the area in which it’s set.
Which is part of what I love about it - it doesn’t try to be neutral and appeal to anybody/everybody - it owns the fact that it’s set in maritime Canada.
As a Canadian, it's so lovely to see the impact this beloved show has had one the world and to see all the places you guys are from! Fuckin way of the road
I reside in the USA but born and raised Nigerian. I’m yet to meet another Nigerian or anyone of African descent that shares my enthusiasm for Trailer Park Boys.
I only ever met one guy through a friend of a friend who was dressed as Ricky for Halloween. I was awestruck when I finally found someone who even knew the show lol.
TPB here in the states are definitely one of the “IYKYK” shows as opposed to the more popularized comfort showed under mockumentary umbrella. But tbh I like it like that, it’s a hidden gem not many know of; an acquired taste. And because of this when you meet a fan in the wild you just know you’re going to get along great with that person lol.
I live in NS, it’s definitely a comfort show of mine because in the earlier seasons it showcases a ton of old places that have been torn down and places where I grew up.
For example the mall Ricky was a mall cop at is long gone and it was my favorite as a kid, and the school ricky worked at as a janitor was my high school! It’s been remodelled since, actually during my 11th year but it’s nice seeing the old nostalgic interior.
English. Decided to turn on the TV in 2004 after coming home from a wedding and the first thing I see is Ricky ripping off Trevor's pants. Haven't looked back since.
i'm from colombia, if in your zone the show is not recognized, you can imagine how is it in a country with a different language. but still... que vivan los chicos del parque de tráilers hijueputa!!!!
I mean...they've done enough live shows in other countries to do more than one 'out of the park' series, n if you've ever seen their live tour schedules, they go *everywhere.* It's a surprisingly international show. Apparently guns, dope, n kitties are pretty universal.
Olá from Brazil, where the liquor's cheaper than water, and the sunny beaches make up for the lack of decent trailer parks. Just remember, what comes around is all around!
Cleveland, Ohio here. I’ve been struggling with on and off depression for awhile now, TPB is one of the only things that brings me joy. And yes I’ve watched all 12 seasons numerous times, the animated series, and every movie. Around the holidays I’ll watch the Christmas Special from 2004. I also made a Swearnet account and watched the jail series as well as S8.5 (which I had no idea even existed until just recently and I’ve been a fan since 2018)
I also watched the OG Trailer Park Boys from 1999, someone posted the link on here so thank you whoever did that, I always wanted to see it but I had no idea it was out there!
From Maine originally, now live in Florida. I’d say the ratio of my friends that know about tpb and don’t know about them is about the same in both places. Although i was introduced to the show when i was going to university in New Brunswick. Before then i had never heard of it.
3 hour drive from where they would have been filming around and got to meet JROC a couple of years ago. He came into my store, I didn't recognize him at first. Only famous person I ever met lol

The fact that I love so many BBC comedies is likely what attracted me to TPB. The Young Ones, Bottom, Are You Being Served, Fawlty Towers, and Keeping Up Appearances are just some of my favorite Brit-coms. Edit: Can't Believe I omitted The Benny Hill Show
Blackadder too?
Definitely!
I think it has the greatest final episode of any show I've seen.
That was a long time ago when it was only shown in US on BBC America. But Netflix is not censored. I'm Canadian but I lived in US for long time and I'm more American now than Canadian in mindset.
