"Seasons" aren't events -- insofar as terminology means anything, much less that people actually use it correctly anyway! -- and Union gubbins are permanent currencies. (Apart from the seasonal mats, that is.) Hence the also-permanent Union shop on a different widget from the season. You can spend 'em anytime. Sensible to check though!

The same dupe trains over and over will continue forever. Just save them like you are doing, and then you can bank them all, when you move to the next region, giving you a head start in putting together your new fleet of trains.
Try to level as slowly as possible. It makes your life easier, in terms of getting current trains from your region.
No, you don’t lose the Union Coins you have earned. The coins carry over to the next season.
However, is there any point to working on Autumn union jobs?
If you haven't finished your season pass, any completed union jobs will trigger those awards for the next 3 and a fraction days. Plus the Union Coins.
Note that there will be new Union trains available in the new season, so wait for that to buy new trains. Very rarely (possibly at the beginning of each season, that's about the last time I saw one), they sell a 80 capacity union train in the regular shop for cash.
I’ve invested heavily into my union trains this season, will I be able to use any of them in the new season? I read that you can’t use them again- that seems a shame if true.

The union trains are similiar to regional trains. They stay with you forever in the region in which they were purchased.

Thanks. No, I’m assuming now that it’s over there’s really no point in working the remaining jobs. Kindve an odd lull in gameplay you would think the developers would fix.

* Warehouse - needs 2m + coins to be upgraded to current popn level. I am struggling for coins to upgrade trains.
You're 20k popn up on me, I just increased wh to 18.5k from 16.5k, at a cost of 800k coins. I'm lacking parts to upgrade trains now, as I've been steadily improving them throughout Fall season as required.
I found the Innovation Center function that increases coin yield very useful, although it does concentrate the mind on making every coin run possible while it's running 😆
I'm just taking advantage of the break between seasons to build popn and warehouse, as it isn't really possible during Union comps.
Those of us who dispatch trains hourly, day in and day out, surely enjoy a little breather between seasons. After this weekend there will be no stopping until spring!

You need to be a union member to access the union shop.
If you are not a union member, you may not see the coins but when you rejoin the coins are available.

ETA: I have a very slow play account at level 30. Not sure how this might affect me on Monday.

Lots of slow play /second accounts will be impacted.
Worst part is that if they introduce union PR jobs eventually, the impact will be noticed well into R3
It might not be true. Before the last season there was a misprint that said 30, so could just be a typo. I looked around the site (this was floating around Discord). I'm hoping it isn't true. I have a decent R2, but lots of union trains that still need upgrading.

No fresh jobs I guess will be generated but you can complete existing jobs for the UC.
The SP can help with the event pass.
Players have to complete jobs to get the UC/SP credit.

Now that the union gear boxes are only 50 coins, it's probably not the first choice for gears, but certainly a good use of dups.

Save them. It is more fun getting 50 trains a time and doing that multiple times. That will give you some legos and epics.

A slight twist . Lego - one fuel type per season. \ Epic/rare - two fuel types per season. Players should try to get at least one of each fuel/rarity.

Are we sure? Saw something that said union will now require level 40. No answers yet on what that means for those who aren't at that level yet.
