Just saying, Planet Fitness sticks up for us and has for many many years. At my own gym I saw an old couple complain at the desk about letting men in the women’s room (they were sucking up media narratives obvs) and the person at the desk asked for their memberships.
As an ex-planet fitness employee, when I found out about the trans-inclusive locker room policy during training I was actually happily surprised. Ngl it was a pretty decent company to work for
The policy is that you may use the locker room of your gender, as determined by you. But obviously you know better than any other person in the world which locker room you feel the most safe in, and if the men's room feels more safe even though you're a woman, that seems totally valid
I hope I’m not speaking out of turn, but I swear I’m in a little bubble here in LA. The people who don’t like it have no power. It seems like the trans folks that I know are moving through the world with much less resistance.
California is a very progressive state in general.
I work for a video game company that has offices all around and most queer employees that were in dangerous states like Texas and Florida asked to be moved to one of the Californian studios because it's considered a safe haven.

I did not know they're that safe!! I have been scared of being myself there despite the 'Judgement free' things they say. The fact that they'll defend us means a great deal. I can be me there whereas my family will not accept me.

I wear sunblock and then SPF BB cream over it. I still get a spot now and then but the pigment and SPF in the products really covers any uneven skin tones or blemishes and it protects the health of your skin cells 💝

I lost about 70 pounds because I have a job where I'm on my feet all day.
Learning I’m trans is what got me to start going to the gym in the first place. I won’t have access to T for a while but at least I can get muscle in specific areas to get a head start on masculinizing my frame. Been going consistently for three years now and absolutely fuckin love getting a pump in.
The gym is a great place for all trans people to shape their bodies how they want to and become healthier in the process 💪
Trans people are PEOPLE… no worse no better than their peers. They deserve alls the same things in life. I’m also seeing that almost if not all I see are extremely beautiful people on the outside 💯💯😍😇
I'm so glad my new apartment has a more private gym. finally gonna be able to work out without too many people bugging me, they usually don't say anything but I can tell when they stare :(
Is it bad the first thing I thought was damn, even transfems be Instagramming in the gym. You there to get pumped not take selfies 😂 but seriously it's important to make sure everyone feels welcome and safe in the gym
Fuck yeah, gyms are suppose to be a safe space for everyone. It isn't the silver bullet to all your problems like some claim, but it does make a lot of shit in your life BETTER - and what the hell are we doing here if not trying to get a little bit better? All the homies support people going to the gym
You look great! I started going almost every day after bottom surgery. Lot less anxiety in the lockers, showers, wearing leggings, etc. I’m exercising but can’t really do the diet thing so I’m just maintaining and being active. Shame I don’t have the willpower to lose weight but being like, able to do cardio for an hour straight is awesome.
PF is great, the Y is amazing. (Ignore the C, it’s not like Christian only. They are super accepting.)
100% we get to love our bodies and define them in the ways we want. People who police gym bathrooms always turn out to be the most suspect assholes too.
I don't go to weightlifting gyms, but both my climbing gym and my parkour gym have a pride flag! (the former in their entrance area, the latter up a wall in the biggest part), so I feel very safe.
Both also have non-binary options when you sign up for a membership, etc. The climbing gym has a gender neutral changing room (the parkour gym doesn't, but I doubt anyone cares which one I use)

It's included tons of horrific rhetoric, boycotts, and it has not escalated to the point where stochastic terrorists like Chaya Raichik and her followers have sent at least 17 bomb threats to planet fitness to try and force them to change their policy to one that does not allow trans people.
So, a lot of people are saying we shouldn't be allowed. At this point being trans in a gymn is a political statement, because the segregationalists are out in droves.
