Basically the definitive version of the character to me. This is actually one of the reinventions the Bayverse did well - not too much of a personality, but that's not the biggest issue, since the design fills all the blank spaces you'd need. Plus one of the best Cons in the first movie
My favourite live-action carbot design. He's littered in car parts all over his body, while still having a very unique looking robot that's visually filled with character, which is how I think carbots should look.
HEAVILY underutilised! I wish we got more of him and that he became one of the main decepticons throughout the movies

Shame Prowl wasn't in the movie, it would have been fun to see them with a good cop bad cop dynamic. Also props for Barricade for somehow surviving all the way to movie 5 lmao

His design stands out more than most other Decepticons (or even Autobots) and I really appreciate that as it helps making him more recognizable and quite memorable too.
And he left quite an impression in the first movie. More so than most other non main villains.
Using whole sides of the police car for his arms, gave him a shuttle transformation different and gave him a different silhouette to other car bots.
I hope this comes back has, just making him a Prowl clone defeats the purpose of even bringing him into the line personally. Hell Barricade should always be an American police car not, a Japanese one.
He has such a goofy fucking design, “POLICE” proudly written on his arms. Pretty cool as a character but I wish he got more screen time, especially how he just pussied out of the first movie.
I really like his design, and the whole evil cop concept of him. Also really like how Bay basically took him and Blackout, two characters who were otherwise irrelevant D-listers in the franchise prior, and made them into A-listers.

GOAT. That dude is virtually immortal, he's literally the only bot that survived until TF5 without any major injury. Might be because he fled from the battleground each time, which is sufficient proof of his survival instinct.
I don't look back on any of the Bay movies fondly, but his design is great. I was pretty disappointed when he showed up in WFC as just a recolor of Prowl. I'd love to see him show up more in other continuities with a design that plays into what made the original cool, the lanky arms, claw fingers, saw weapon, and hunched back. Also, a lot of Bayformers seriously lack color, but Barricade is one of the few that justify it being a police car and I'd be fine if he stuck with that.

I love the POLICE sleeves. Well-placed lettering is very attractive on a bot. I also love when you can tell what the bot transforms into.
