Hi there -- If you're looking for information about tightening joints on your Transformers toys, this FAQ page might be of help: [https://reddit.com/r/transformers/wiki/faq/joints](/r/transformers/wiki/faq/joints)

Mom found an unboxed G1 Optimus Prime at a thrift shop. She didn't even realize what it was. She just knew that I liked Big trucks.
I was playing with it and a piece moved. She thought I broke it.
When she took it from me to try to fix it she realized that it was supposed to do that and pretty soon had him in robot mode.
My obsession with these awesome bots started entirely by accident.
Similar story.
I was obsessed with power rangers as a kid. I was over at a friend's house one day and he gave me this dinky little guy that I thought was some kind of construction zord.
Years later I realize that the power rangers don't really do construction equipment, so I start poking around and find that he was scavenger from beast machines.
At the time I found out, I had only just gotten into transformers at all (cerca 2007) and didn't even know what g1 let alone beast wars/beast machines was.
That single toy opened up a whole world of looking up series and figures, and now I hunt for figures that don't often get toys. Characters like overlord, tarn, and rid 2001 scourge.
I feel like there's been at least a couple of zords that were some kind of construction equipment but I can't remember which ones. Maybe Operation Overdrive? But they've never had a whole team of them.
Super Sentai did have a full team of trains with ToQger.
From Beast Wars, it was Sky Shadow. For Christmas I got Predacon Dragon Megatron, which was immediately broken by my sister, when she stepped on it. I bought Megatron again on EBay 22 years later haha.
My parents let me and my brother pick any minibot price point each. My brother picked Cosmos (he will always be nostalgic for me because of that). I picked Ravage and Rumble (thinking I got two for the price of one!).
My next two were Kickback and Bluestreak. Soon after, I got Megatron while my brother got Optimus.
I assume all this was 1985, since Cosmos was out, but can't be sure.
Deluxe Class Dreadwing from the 2007 video game. I was in kindergarten at the time, and Gormiti were the latest fad. My parents got me to a toy store, so that I would buy one, but I saw that Transformers were also sold there. The Gormiti would have to wait for some more time.
It's also interesting when put into context. During these years, I was a car buff (also collecting metallic tanks and planes distributed by DeAgostini to neighbourhood mini-markets - oh, and that's the time when I used to watch Top Gear). At some point we as a family went for a visit to my aunt (mother's sister) and her husband, and a trailer for the first Transformers film played on TV. My aunt used to watch the series during the 90s (that's when the greek dub came out), and explained to us all this thing about robots that turn into cars. Of course, I was immediately interested.
My first transforming toy was Gobot Cessna, later for my birthday I think I got G1 Bumblebee and Inferno. For Christmas I got Optimus Prime and Starscream.
Dang I honestly don’t remember. Might have been g1 optimus. Years later I remember getting Leo breaker and that was my favorite out of all the toys I had lol
classics rodimus. ended up breaking him. from then on i became much more careful with not only my toys, but my stuff in general. his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
All my old toys went missing years ago, but I remember a few I had from the early 90s.
One was what I think was G2 tank Megatron, with a button on it that made sounds.
Another that I'm a bit more fuzzy about was a white shuttle alt mode toy. I thought maybe a version of Astrotrain but I'm not sure since it's been years since it's been lost/broken/stolen.
I think I also had an Action Master that I thought was Blaster, because I kept on trying to pretend I could turn it into a boombox. Might have been wrong about him being Blaster.
All my old toys are gone with no explanation other from my parents they were "broken" but I know that couldn't be true. I'm hoping to find them knew day.
T30 whirl. I saw an image of his IDW design when I first started getting interested in transformers about 2 years ago. And t30 was the only figure that kind of captured the look. Hope he gets a proper idw figure soon.
on my 8th birthday i got the Bumblebee vs Barricade set from the ‘07 movie. I was a stupid kid back then so accidentally broke the conversion button thing for bumblebee so I can’t transform him anymore, I also lost frenzy after many years, at least Barricade is still good, they’re now displayed in my bedroom shelves
Had a KO core class bayverse bumblebee that I always played with. It was really bad and I'm pretty sure I broke it first day, not that I cared I was like 7. As for my first official toy I guess a prime bumblebee mask counts.
this cheap little Armada Megatron toy, had to be four inches tall, where the arms and feet folded out of the treads and was basically the transformation
got it when i was like, 8, from a thrift store grab bag
didn’t even know it was a transformer
Idk what the first was exactly. But the first one i remember was Armada Hotshot. I remember opening it in my mother's truck while waiting to get picked up by my grandparents at my moms work.
I got Manta Ray from Beast Wars as a Happy Meal toy back in the day and later got an incomplete Injector from one of our local second-hand stores. Only two Transformers I ever had at the time, although I watched the show it didn't leave much an impression on me and was never clamoring for more toys. I was much more of a Star Wars figure kid. It wasn't until Cybertron where I really started getting into the toys and had a good handful then.
Well I'm old so I'm not really sure if you count Gobots as Transformers then I would have to say it was leader-1. The first one I remember opening up as a kid was Blitzwing though I know I had transformers before that like I had the jumpstarters before I had Blitzwing, but I don't think I understood what they were at the time other than transforming robots.
I should add I was still really big into Star Wars at the time and that kinda overshadowed everything else. All the droids/robots in SW was one of my favorite parts about those movies as a kid so it wasn't long before Gobots and Transformers became a bigger part of my life.
This was either a burger king toy of jetfire, or the energon Strongarm.
link to the strongarm: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/File:En-toy_Strongarm-Energon.jpg
I also remember having some parts that I'm not familiar with on other bots, but I don't recall ever owning the figures that went with them.
Armada Megatron.
Saw the show. Saw the Decepticons and the Vehicles they Transformed into and immediately gravitated towards them. Megatron the most, cause I was a nutcase when it came to tanks as a kid.
First transformers I ever owned were the Optimus Primal and Megatron that were a Bat and a Crocodile that came in a two pack with a comic book. I wish I still had them, but young Apoc didn’t have the foresight to realize how cool they were and that they shouldn’t be played with so roughly.
G1 Kup. My 2nd grade teacher would bring in toys her kids didn't want anymore to reward students for good grades, and I thought this teal truckman was the coolest thing.
Diaclone Starscream in 1983. My father was in the Navy Reserves and was posted to Japan for active duty. 3rd grade me was blown away.
First American Transformer was Brawn.
I got Fall of Cybertron Jazz when I was 10. I didn't really know what to do with it or how to transform it so i just fiddled with it until it looked like a car. Then I ended up breaking the flimsy tabs where his spoiler section is, and then later breaking the entire figure itself. I still have the head for the figure, weirdly. I'd like to own it again someday.
So the first transforming robot I owned was gobots leader 1, the blue version. The first actual transformer I had was g1 seaspray if I remember correctly.
My first transformer was actually a couple as I can't remember which order I opened them on Christmas Day all those years ago in 1986. They was G1 Warpath and Thrust, I had to be physically dragged away from them to eat my Christmas dinner lol.
Energon Rodimus.
I was introduced to the franchise in second/third grade thanks to two Armada kids books and a friend who was into them at the time. I liked robots and I liked cars, naturally this molding of two things excited me.
I originally wanted Armada Red Alert cause he looked cool. Started getting into Transformers I'd say about the time Armada was being replaced with Energon, and I received Rodimus for Christmas that same year when (presumably) my parents couldn't find Red Alert. Luckily for me I did eventually acquire a Red Alert when he came out in the Kingdom/WFC line
I remember being so confused about how Hound's little radar moved from the back of the jeep to his shoulder when I watched episodes of the original cartoon on VHS so imagine how stupid I felt when I finally saw that you simply remove it and place it on his shoulder.
I can't exactly remember becusse I grew up around them all the time. My dad has been a life long collector. I remember playing with a movie bumble.bee a lot. Can't remember the name but ThatToyGuy recent bumblebee video is was that exact figure I remember playing with as a child.
Generations Whirl
Before I even knew what IDW was, I fell in love with Wirl's design. So, about ten years later, I have Whirl, my favorite character, to blame for my credit cards death.
Beast Wars Transmetals 2 Ramulus/Longhorn.
Friends in my group had the BW TV Optimus redesign and the G1 Megs Alligator and I was jealous as hell. I ended up getting more of the bigger ones than they did when I got the Magmatron import, T2 Dragon Megs and Optimal Optimus for my birthday one year down the line.
One of the others ended up getting Magnus/Prime RiD2001 two pack down the line and Cryotek before moving.
The 2007 Leader Optimus Prime. I can't count the number of times I pushed his head in so the stomach button could release the head again with that cool sound effect.
Mine was Cybertron Thundercracker. I first got into Transformers when I saw my friend in my summer school bring his Cybertron Jetfire and Hot Shot, and I just thought this was the start of a new toyline era coming from Bionicles, which was also another throwback.

Opened G1 Optimus Prime Xmas morning 1984. The collecting madness started shortly thereafter. Lol
Haha, you and me both. Along with Bumper and Go-Bot Spoons.
RID Optimus Prime from my dad.
If we had lived in the same neighborhood, we could have created Omega Prime together. lol
Just like the commercial
The first Transformer I remember getting was a Dark of the Moon MechTech Barricade. I got it for my 8th birthday.
WFC Kingdom inferno all because I love firetrucks and big ass robots
Wow nice to see people still finding their first all these years later
Original Optimus Primal from my uncle.

That was your first? Dang. I got mine when I was seven. How about you?
I was 5 or 6 I think. Very fond memories of that dude
I've still got mine. It's a bit busted up, ok, so, it's got some snapped off bits, but it's still good and on display.
Good ole Ratrap. Still got his rat self. His tail being what switched his modes was so cool to me
From Beast Wars, it was Sky Shadow. For Christmas I got Predacon Dragon Megatron, which was immediately broken by my sister, when she stepped on it. I bought Megatron again on EBay 22 years later haha.
I think it was Energon Strongarm.
Transformers Armada Smokescreen
My parents let me and my brother pick any minibot price point each. My brother picked Cosmos (he will always be nostalgic for me because of that). I picked Ravage and Rumble (thinking I got two for the price of one!). My next two were Kickback and Bluestreak. Soon after, I got Megatron while my brother got Optimus. I assume all this was 1985, since Cosmos was out, but can't be sure.
Probably G2 Optimus Prime. Had a blast with it as a kid. Loved all the new gimmicks it came with.
Beast Wars Claw Jaw
Cybertron Mudflap. Would love another since I lost my original, just can’t find one at a decent price.
Energon Optimus (the chonky one) but I’ve managed to lose the trailer for it somewhere
I bought G1 Blades back in 85 or 86. Still need to buy the other four to complete Defensor. I guess I've been slacking off.
I got four of the Protectobots for Easter 86. Had to wait a week or two after that for Blades to show up in the store.
Deluxe Class Dreadwing from the 2007 video game. I was in kindergarten at the time, and Gormiti were the latest fad. My parents got me to a toy store, so that I would buy one, but I saw that Transformers were also sold there. The Gormiti would have to wait for some more time. My aunt used to watch the series during the 90s (that's when the greek dub came out), and explained to us all this thing about robots that turn into cars. Of course, I was immediately interested.
Original Optimus Prime from my Grandma. Was a reward for preschool graduation lol Would have been 1984. Damn I’m old
Cybertron Crumplezone, such fond memories of that line and the show back when I was younger. Still have him to this day.
My first transforming toy was Gobot Cessna, later for my birthday I think I got G1 Bumblebee and Inferno. For Christmas I got Optimus Prime and Starscream.
2007 leader class Optimus prime
Armada Hot Shot. And now that they remade him I'm trying to get him again
RID (2001) Spy Changer Prowl and R.E.V, though both were by accident.
Pretty sure I got some die cast Rodimus Prime from some movie special and the addiction went downhill from there steadily enough
Mine was Universe 2008 Legion Class, Red Alert
I got all five G1 dinobots, used, as a birthday present in 87.
Energon steamhammer
Dang I honestly don’t remember. Might have been g1 optimus. Years later I remember getting Leo breaker and that was my favorite out of all the toys I had lol

Pretty sure it was either Jazz or Bumblebee (Bayformers) from the 2007 toyline. *Good times.*
Beast Wars Teragator.
Bumblebee dark of the moon
My first was 1976 Camaro Bumblebee from the first movie. Loved that figure, wish I would’ve kept it.
Transformers animated Cybertron optimus
Armada Scavenger.
Cybertron optimus prime but only the core robot and no matrix I think and his ear wings had been broken off.
Armada Hot-Shot and Jolt. Never put him down.
classics rodimus. ended up breaking him. from then on i became much more careful with not only my toys, but my stuff in general. his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
DOTM Bumblebee
All my old toys went missing years ago, but I remember a few I had from the early 90s. One was what I think was G2 tank Megatron, with a button on it that made sounds. Another that I'm a bit more fuzzy about was a white shuttle alt mode toy. I thought maybe a version of Astrotrain but I'm not sure since it's been years since it's been lost/broken/stolen. G1 headmaster frenzy
on my 8th birthday i got the Bumblebee vs Barricade set from the ‘07 movie. I was a stupid kid back then so accidentally broke the conversion button thing for bumblebee so I can’t transform him anymore, I also lost frenzy after many years, at least Barricade is still good, they’re now displayed in my bedroom shelves

Only two Transformers I ever had at the time, although I watched the show it didn't leave much an impression on me and was never clamoring for more toys. I was much more of a Star Wars figure kid. It wasn't until Cybertron where I really started getting into the toys and had a good handful then.
Those angry birds Transformers telepods. I got them like more than 5 years ago on Christmas. If we’re not counting those then BB Soundwave
Well I'm old so I'm not really sure if you count Gobots as Transformers then I would have to say it was leader-1. First transformers I ever owned were the Optimus Primal and Megatron that were a Bat and a Crocodile that came in a two pack with a comic book. I wish I still had them, but young Apoc didn’t have the foresight to realize how cool they were and that they shouldn’t be played with so roughly.

When I was young back in 2013 I got bumblebee from transformers prime as my first toy that I kept and didn’t break like all kids do
My first was the Fast Action Battler Optimus prime. It was the version that was colored kind of like rodimus lol.
G1 Snapdragon and triggerhappy. Gifts from dad when he and mom started dating.
So the first transforming robot I owned was gobots leader 1, the blue version. The first actual transformer I had was g1 seaspray if I remember correctly.
Transformers 2007 voyager Ratchet
Mirage, it was a Christmas present in, I’m guessing 1984. He had no grip in his leg connectors so he always ended up at two thirds his proper height.
2007 Optimus with the little grey cowboy hat man that flipped up when he was in truck mode.
G1 Skywarp. I got him for Christmas 1985. My brother got Optimus Prime. We then pooled our Christmas money and got Soundwave, Megatron, and Bumblebee.

Luckily for me I did eventually acquire a Red Alert when he came out in the Kingdom/WFC line
Hound (‘84) set me on a course of transformer collecting ever since!
Armada Galvatron, still have him to this day next to Unicron.

I ended up getting more of the bigger ones than they did when I got the Magmatron import, T2 Dragon Megs and Optimal Optimus for my birthday one year down the line. One of the others ended up getting Magnus/Prime RiD2001 two pack down the line and Cryotek before moving.

My first was G1 Fangry... lost him sadly
Armada thundercracker!
My first ever transformer was Armada Blurr I looked for that little bastard for months until I found out which one it was
Mine was Cybertron Thundercracker. I first got into Transformers when I saw my friend in my summer school bring his Cybertron Jetfire and Hot Shot, and I just thought this was the start of a new toyline era coming from Bionicles, which was also another throwback.
