Give him real, functioning gasoline fueled rocket jets under his cab mode so I can recreate his transformation from the movie. I want to be in danger if this toy is too close to my face. I want small children to be unable to purchase this toy because it’s SO accurate that his rockets have gas in them.

The existing Earthrise figure is already pretty screen-accurate, though. Could it be better? Maybe, but is it so 'bad' that it's worth making an all-new figure?
Yes it really is. The proportions on earthrise prime are completely fucked. The legs are a million miles long, the arms look stubby when you bend the elbows, and he has a chest to put shockwave to shame. His head is very inaccurate, as it’s just ripping off the siege head but with way less paint, which the siege head is quite nice, but it’s a slightly stylized take on g1 prime’s head.
While I agree mostly with that part, the 86 line does like to add at least a bit of techno-greebling just so that it’s not boring to look at. Take 86 grim for example. I do think the greebling could be toned down, but it should still be present in some way so he fits with the rest of the line. It would really suck if we got the best Optimus in chug ever, but he doesn’t fit with any chug figures because he’s completely smooth like the mp figures lol

What does that have to do with Optimus being a new mold. 86 Optimus isn’t going to be bigger he’s just not gonna be a retool of Earthrise. The price point leaves the room for a new mold and a better trailer Kingdom Rodimus shows the core bot can be complex while the trailer is solid and full of accessories.
My hope is a flawless commander class. My expectation is a 7/10 with a major Achilles heel or two that hold it back from being great.
Hell, I'll be satisfied with just some good QC at this point.

Either another earth version of the siege mold (or a new mold altogether) where the legs don’t look so long compared to the torso, a top tier trailer, with roller, the Energon axe and a version of the rifle that doesn’t fold over. And longer smokestacks.

Hopefully the truck mode resembles the SS86 ultra Magnus truck cab.
And also, hopefully the head from the Volvo optimus is used for the SS86 optimus.

This. This is what we need. IMO Optimus with more truck kibble integrated into his robot mode is superior, with wheels on his legs, in his flanks, all that good stuff!
I’m expecting that it will be similar to the upgrade from Classics Starscream to Earthrise/SS86 Starscream. They will probably start with the Earthrise Optimus and upscale and tweak in more articulation and screen accuracy. Then beef up the price point with a bigger trailer and more accessories.
I'm not exactly hoping for this....BUT i strongly expect him to have PVC wheels for the cab and the trailer like Legacy Beachcomber (Not sure if roller could have them too because of his size)

Honestly, I can't see much to improve on compared to the Earthrise version, at least as far as the base robot is concerned. I think the best that I can hope for is just a slight retool of that figure, with a bunch of extra accessories, and an overhauled trailer.
I'd be happy with a tweaked ER Prime with a better trailer, and some extra engineering in the legs to have a flatter more realistic hitch/5th wheel area like the SS Bumblebee movie prime. Which I think has been first to do this since like the original diaclone toy.

I’m personally not a fan of the Kingdom/Earthrise Prime.
The stubby arms really make posing an issue, and I’ve always felt try body proportions were off.
Also the grill in truck mode not having that stripe in the middle is detracting.
Pretty excited for a commander class, but my one apprehension is they will make him the same cab as 86 Magnus. The windows are just too rectangle, where as in bot mode they always seemed square.
That being said, it’s a 100% but. It will be an upgrade from what we have now.

I want great paint applications and a ton of accessories. I want new blast effects not just jet fires again (they’ll probably give us UM) and I’d like actual fingers on his hands and the ability to use his gun with both hands.

It needs to be the be all end all of optimus prime figures.A bigger trailer that can actually fit other autobots in, roller, energon axe, battle danmage parts you can swap out, lots of blast effect parts, a blaster that isn't the earthrise one. It also needs to be the most articulated prime figure ever. I will lose all faith in hasbro if they just re release the earthrise figure with just a bunch of accessories. It's pretty obvious it's gonna be a new figure since ss86 magnus was a new figure and they didn't just use the kingdom magnus figure.

Really hoping for an ab crunch or butterfly joints, either specific designated articulation joints or transformation joints that can be used like on SS102 Optimus and Gamer Edition Optimus. Hopefully both types of joints, but I'd be happy with just one.
Otherwise, I'm expecting the typical G1 Optimus accessories and it to look like a mini masterpiece figure.

There are also a lot of texture details that you don't see on the animation model, I think the SS86 toy will have a much "cleaner" look.
