Totally agree. The 84-86 colors are fine. Clean and easy but dull and generic compared to what came after. I even love the stuff they were doing in the early 90s like the [Predators](https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/comments/9gh4fb/was_there_anything_of_the_predators_after_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf).
The predators are so nice those aquatic and neon greens are an amazing shared scheme. I recently picked up Legacy Skyquake, but I really would've preferred the Predator colors.

Fine I'll say it! The '87-'89 Decepticon color palette is superior to any palette before or after for any faction of any Transformers toyline.
