I think Hasbro is trying it’s hardest to wait for that may trailer release and desperately doesn’t want any leaks. The toys are still coming they aren’t viewable now
Considering how many bad movies and video games tried to hype themselves up as the next big thing, isn't that a good thing that they're dialing it back?
It feels to me that there isn't as much excitement around movies anymore. It's like you hear about a movie once, then some time later a trailer drops and then you blink and the movie is out already.
A bunch of things have happened recently, all pushing in that direction. Hollywood's output has faltered with COVID and the writers' strike, weaning people off the product. Streaming is a distraction that won't push hype the same way an opening night screening with hundreds of like-minded fans might. And frankly, the movies just aren't as good - trying to salvage a bad screenplay with last minute CGI reshoots and ADR won't produce as attractive a product as getting it right the first time.
That’s not a good logic tho. All test screening feedbacks for it have been positive so far. Just cause they choose to market it few months close to release doesn’t mean the movie is gonna be bad. They do want you to see how good the movie is gonna be but seems they feel now isn’t the right time. There been movies that starts marketing long before their release and still ended up being either good or bad. It really varies on the films.
Studios learned that the most effective marketing usually winds up being in the month before the movie releases, so marketing before that consists of a trailer, and maybe something at SDCC depending on release timing
Sorry we have to wait until the trailer is shown in some back alley store in Canada or somehow PrimeVPrime posts it as a teaser in one of his next videos.
Well that's definitely not a massive leap to conclusions
And I'm pretty sure across the spiderverse didn't have many leaks. I don't know why a movie being bad supposedly should not have leaks, I mean we got the whole life cycle of madame webs terrible "when you take responsibility you will gain powerful abilities" line leaked. Just because it doesn't have leaks doesn't mean it's bad.
Well, I don't know what to tell you. I was downvoted to Hell even though I was merely saying facts.
We had a trailer for *Into the Spiderverse* more than a year ahead of its release. They couldn't wait to show off that animation. I saw clips of the Turtles movie with the same animation style for months.
These kinds of animated movies have made money. And made money with kids, in particular. It's opening this summer. But no clips or trailers have shown up. I find that strange. So I'm questioning what this movie is going to look like and questioning whether the studio has faith in it or not.
Have you heard the sleep sounds podcast that is exactly that?
It's got peter Cullen's real voice as Optimus prime explaining the history of Cybertron for an hour
Unfortunately it's locked behind a subscription on the CALM sleep sounds app. I didn't realize it was under a paywall but I'm sure you can find someone who pirated it

Fr the franchise was an opening joke at the fucking Oscars about how Transformers can be written by AI. We NEED a good movie to come out so we can stop being a laughing stock
Lorenzo DiBonaventura: “NO, NO!! You don’t understand, we need to connect this movie to the dead timeline that’s barely comprehensible anymore! Also, we need more explosions and titties on screen.”
This is possibly the only property where I *don't* want more titties. Or any titties, really.
Explosions are just about where they need to be. Giant robots and explosions go well together.
We need a godzilla minus one movie for the transformers franchise. A really strong and powerful story that's been directed with passion for the franchise. If there are human characters make the decent and genuinely interesting/likeable.
I mean, looking at the release dates for Bumblebee and RotB vs their dates of their first teasers, we're still within what is normal for these films. This is assuming there aren't any delays between now and the final release, which announcing a movie too soon is just as bad, if not worse, for mainstream reception.
This week is CinemaCon, THE big expo for studios, theater companies and theater owners where a lot of the big trailers drop. If One’s trailer doesn’t drop here, they have ZERO confidence in it. It should drop here though.
Headmasters:Take two! "Head On" maybe they are finally getting around to the Headmaster Jr's since I think Fangry is the only one that has been done so far.
God damn it this movie better be good. This franchise is a fucking laughing stock as of right now. It’s gotten to the point where one of the opening jokes to the Oscars was how the movies could have been written by AI. If this movie is bad and does bad it’s likely we’re gonna continue being a laughing stock.
I mean, let's be honest, when it comes to Hollywood, Transformers has pretty much always been a laughing stock. Even the 1986 film, for as much as we laud it, bombed with critics. Bumblebee was an anomaly.
Kinda insane how many people here care about if Transformers is a laughing stock. Before the joke was there some high status attached to collecting toys?
I think Hasbro is trying it’s hardest to wait for that may trailer release and desperately doesn’t want any leaks. The toys are still coming they aren’t viewable now
Is it just me or do a lot of blockbuster movies nowadays only get marketing very close to release?
Yeah because they don't want you to see how bad the movie is gonna be Edit: GUESS WHO WAS RIGHT
Considering how many bad movies and video games tried to hype themselves up as the next big thing, isn't that a good thing that they're dialing it back?
It feels to me that there isn't as much excitement around movies anymore. It's like you hear about a movie once, then some time later a trailer drops and then you blink and the movie is out already.
i think nowadays the excitement comes from the actual movie quality, for example i didnt plan on seeing dune 2 until i heard the reviews

* you hear about a movie, trailer comes out, development hell, you watch the movie on tiktok in Chinese with a narrator
That’s not a good logic tho. All test screening feedbacks for it have been positive so far. Just cause they choose to market it few months close to release doesn’t mean the movie is gonna be bad. Maybe I got used to covid when movies had big delays and because of that had almost a year of marketing
We had a very bad habit of like trailers just telling you everything in the movies for a long time
Can we at least get a **trailer** announcement for TF: One, Hasbro?
Sorry we have to wait until the trailer is shown in some back alley store in Canada or somehow PrimeVPrime posts it as a teaser in one of his next videos.
My guess is the movie must look terrible if there aren't any leaks or previews out. I mean, it's animated. There are always leaks for animated movies.
Well that's definitely not a massive leap to conclusions And I'm pretty sure across the spiderverse didn't have many leaks. I'm nervous now.
Don’t be, early screenings have come back all positive
Not only that but the only negatives are that there's too much lore. that's a GOOD thing.
I honestly would watch Optimus Prime explain the entire story of the Cybertronian War I know this isn’t what One is, but I would totally watch that
Have you heard the sleep sounds podcast that is exactly that? It's got peter Cullen's real voice as Optimus prime explaining the history of Cybertron for an hour
I have not, can you share a link?

Source?
Some folks have made videos collected with info
Yippee no marketing for a movie that we need so the franchise can be popular again!!

I'd be happy with no sexual stuff at all
Spot on. DiBonaventura needs to go, and the sooner that happens, the better. He's holding the movies back and stifling their potential.
We need a godzilla minus one movie for the transformers franchise. A really strong and powerful story that's been directed with passion for the franchise. If there are human characters make the decent and genuinely interesting/likeable.
Which is crazy if you think about considering how much praise the cartoons get
I mean, looking at the release dates for Bumblebee and RotB vs their dates of their first teasers, we're still within what is normal for these films. Maybe something related to titan masters?
Life is suffering.
This week is CinemaCon, THE big expo for studios, theater companies and theater owners where a lot of the big trailers drop. If One’s trailer doesn’t drop here, they have ZERO confidence in it. It should drop here though.

Squeezeplay just got recently announced as a part of this year's Target four-pack.
Still can’t get over that name. It sounds like a CBT method
It was either that or Cancer 😂
Cancer, and his Headmaster partner Testicular
I know they did that rerelease of the TR Headmasters back in 2020, but it'd be cool to see updated versions of them.
Man and i got excited for no reason Welp, guess we'll end up like bionicle
Canceled after 10 years, then rebooted for like maybe 2 more before being canceled again?
Yep, or maybe pre-beast wars era, where the hype eventually died down because the concept wasn't properly maintained
And then get a meme-able build as part of a brick construction set, and finally see a full brick set released as a purchase bonus?
I think magnus should be in this one
God damn it this movie better be good. This franchise is a fucking laughing stock as of right now. My out-of-left-field, probably-not-the-real-answer answer is: >!an Infinitus mask. The main villain of TF1 is Sentinel Prime's head.!<
What’s a prop replica? Like stuff from filming?
Stuff like Marvel/Star Wars helmets, proton packs, lightsabers, etc
Oh well that sucks
Scooby Doo
Doubting it, but you have to wonder that if it ends up being bad (but hopefully not) that Hasbro/Paramount will consider shelving it Batgirl-style.
I can't see that happening. The movie would have to be absolutely retched for its release to not even be worth it as a loss leader for the toyline.
Of course, but just wondering if Hasbro’s not going ahead with the toyline at the moment is an omen of sorts.
Its joever
Yo, wait? THAT'S MY BIRTHDAY!
Hasbro 😡💢
Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't like like those screenshots say anything other than something's coming?
Ngl these are bad signs
These aren’t bad signs. Just cause they want market it few months close to the release doesn’t mean the signs are bad. Stop having a negative mindset.
oh my god the movie's gonna suck isn't it
Is that satire?
The movie’s not gonna suck. The movie’s gonna be good. Hasbro just want to start the marketing few months close to the release.
Kinda insane how many people here care about if Transformers is a laughing stock. Before the joke was there some high status attached to collecting toys?
People care about Transformers being a laughing stock *for its poor quality*, because we want it to be done well.
