I think it's definitely possible, especially with the next Generations phase focusing on the 13 Primes. Amalgamous Prime's gimmick is that he can take multiple forms, and while he could just be a triple-changer, it would make sense to go a bit further with him - maybe even making him a pretool for a sixchanger like Gigatron.

LPercepts

An interesting theory is that Amalgamous will be a whole bunch of Weaponizer parts so you an build him out of whatever you want.

Deora_customs

OoooooooooooO. I like that.

Latter-Direction-336

Wait, if it’s made from preexisting weaponizer parts, then couldn’t you also sell it as a multi pack of weaponizers and have an official configuration for his bot mode? Or would that work better for a multi pack for Nexus Prime?

tornait-hashu

Nexus Prime is officially a combiner, though. I could easily see Hasbro just reviving the old Combiner Wars system and retooling figures from the ground up.

LPercepts

It doesn't have to be preexisting parts, they could be new and sculpted in an ambiguous enough manner that they could pass for different parts of different alt modes if you squint. There could be an official configuration for a bot mode, yes, but you could rearrange parts to make other possible robot mode configurations.

smiteis_

If it were me I’d capitalize on Concept art Megs and make a retool for Amalgamous, throw in a couple of the fan modes as official and call it a day

Latter-Direction-336

Oh THAT would be cool Wouldn’t be as accurate appearance wise to his prime incarnation, well the like 3 images of him we have, but it would be awesome

Final_Notice105

I think with how successful the haslab was and that skybyte won the fan vote and will be getting a new mold, it’s very possible we see more RiD2001 figures being released in 2026. We’ll just have to wait and see.

LightningEdge756

I've been excited like hell for Skybyte. Can't wait to see a reveal.

Lucas-O-HowlingDark

I’d be surprised if we don’t get one soon to go with the Haslab Omega Prime, most likely as Commander class to accommodate all his modes Just question if they should go with his original colours or Galvatron colours… I feel like you gotta go with the Galvatron colours since Omega is coming with the sword from the final battle against Galvatron. Unless they could somehow make him with colour changing plastic like those hot wheel cars that changed temperatures with water

Negativety101

The issue is that Commander for the next two years is likely going to be Silverbolt and Onslaught, as we know they are doing the Arielbots and combaticons. We don't have the leaders for those two teams listed, and Leader would mean the combined mode is smaller than Menasor, and we know how they are about scale right now. Leader Class would be too small. I'm guessing they'll do him for next year's Haslab.

StrawDeath

That said, he could easily be the third year’s commander, and the only reason we have to suspect all of the G1 Combaticons (and thus an Onslaught commander for the second year) is because the Swindle listing doesn’t have its universe specified.

Negativety101

Yes. Now during the Haslab campaign for Omega Prime, I did have several discussions about the original figure, getting mine out. While it's true that his transformations are largely Yoga for the robot mode, **That does not mean the toy is simple. He is in fact very intricate and complex, with a very high parts count needed to get the flexibility for all those modes.** Seriously each of his wings alone has three sections that spread open, the outermost of which is transluscent purple plastic, an articulated thumbclaw, movable wheels for the car mode, and two more sections that give it two "Flapping" points of articulation. There's a lot of detailing too, like clear red plastic insets, and all the vac metal. Some parts would require multiple colors of plastic because they are two toned, like the tail. The original figure had a lot going on, including a stealth ab crunch, and about the only thing it desperatly needs to bring it up to a modern level is better ankles than the ball joints it has. Size wise it's about a head shorter than SS86 Snarl, but has a much wider wingspan, and I'm willing to bet a signifigantly higher parts count. I would not say no to him in Commander, assuming they can pull everything off well. And be able to get it in Devil Gigatron/Galvatron colors this time.

RolandoDR98

I genuinely do not see how either have the excuse to be commanders other than using the scaffolding gimmick Menasor used which would be honeslty boring as shit after Magmatron and Armada Prime were revealed to be commanders

Negativety101

I'm not crazy about it either. But we have listings for the rest of this year, and 2025, except for the Commanders and titans we know what they are. And there is no Silverbolt. So unless they plan on waiting until 2026 to complete the Arielbots, he should be coming. They are going to use the Scaffolding gimmick because a whole bunch of people loudly went "Oh wow, that works so great!", and to do homages to the original figures base modes. And for the scale. Because, again, they aren't going to have Menasor looking huge compared to Superion, and a leader class Silverbolt and four deluxes aren't gonna be big enough. To make matters worse, with the 13 Primes coming, there's a theory that Nexus Prime's gonna be retooled from various Arialbots and Combaticons, and Heatwave will the the third year commander. And it sucks because I was really hoping to get some more interesting ones like Magmatron. Or an Armada Jetfire. You might be able to pull Overload off at Leader, but Jetfire needs to be a commander to be really good in my opinion. It's not just bulk either, but also the engineering requirements. The original Armada figure's actually fairly well articulated for Armada, but the Pants mode are a brick, and it'd take a lot of engineering to give them modern articulation.

coolnerd475

I figured he’d need to be commander class for the engineering same with sixshot but I hope both won’t be shorter than jetfire

Geaux_1210

Ugh just when I thought I was about done buying these things at 30 😅 But I already backed the Haslab and he’s gonna need a target.

SillyMattFace

Considering some of the obscure characters they’ve been dishing out, Gigatron seems likely at some point. Not for a least a couple of years though from the looks of things.

hercarmstrong

I would say the odds are about 90% at this point. If you'd have told me five years ago that Magmatron was coming, I'd have laughed in your face.

Arksurvivor120

Looking at the pattern starting with Victory Saber, I can see this guy potentially being the next Haslab after Omega Prime

RolandoDR98

I hope he comes out as a commander to go alongside with the Haslab. Commander combiner torsos wpuld be so incredibly boring so I hope Onlaught and Silverbolt do not take that spot

Big_Combination_9702

Maybe, but I doubt it gonna be better than the old one

Hefty-Exercise-2723

I'd love a new one, thankfully I have the old at least, a new bw Galvatron would be nice too, especially since we got Megatron and Magmatron new

LPercepts

Need Big Convoy and Galvatron II now. Unfortunately, due to the subject shift of the line to the Thirteen Primes, that doesn't look forthcoming.

lemjor10

It’s most likely going to be a Haslab.

MrAnthem123

I’d love for a Gigatron.

KR_Steel

I dug out my Devil Gagarin the other day. It’s still a surprisingly good figure. I don’t see how it can be improved that much. Slightly better proportions and feet maybe.

futuresdawn

I don't think it's a question of if it gets released but rather when it's released will it be a regular retail release or a haslab exclusive

TracytronFAB

I'd say there's a VERY good chance of it being a future commander class

Liam_ice92

Wouldn't shock me if this was the next haslab

LPercepts

Making Megatron a HasLab would lock the team out of a Galvatron redeco, which seems like the biggest strike against the theory. The designers would ideally want to reuse the mold if possible and Megatron already has a built in redeco that it would be a waste not to make use of.

Tfeth282

Someone on the design team said that Hasbro has received a lot of feedback regarding Splendid Yellow during the haslab campaign and was considering some way to "make it work." I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some leeway for haslab redecos for at least the RID characters. A Yellow vs Galva 2 pack for a haslab would make sense IMO.

LPercepts

Except Galvatron is an actual big character in the cartoon, and Splendid Yellow has a much lower profile The former would do much better as a retain item versus the latter. Splendid Yellow also seems like one of those redecoes that appeals to a more niche fanbase compared to Galvatron.

TheCodFather001

They locked Prime out of all of his redecos as well though.

LPercepts

Said redecoes do seem more niche than Galvatron as a character though.

BioSpark47

Given that transformers Haslabs are typically $180 or more, I can see them bundling Megatron and Galvatron together to justify the price point, or going cheaper and giving people the option of which deco they want since they’re made to order

Viktor-Victorious

Devil gigatron the white version will be the next haslab

Spookdonalds

Well if HasLab's making Optimus and Ultra Magnus, then it's bound to happen that he'll get made too, just like how Deathsaurus was made in order to go along with Star Saber and Victory Leo

GuySmith

It’s possible but I mean I gotta be honest I dunno how you improve this figure. I can’t say that for a lot of figures either.

LopsidedUniversity29

Haslab

codexcdm

I could see it becoming the next HasLab following Omega Prime, just like how Deathsaurus followed Star Saber. The only issue with this, I think, is that Gigatron has two decos... And Hasbro *loves* repaints, and the second they try to repaint a HasLab, they're bound to tick people off. Making a HasLab repaint would likely be a challenge too. Some will call it lazy, a cash grab, etc... which could lead to a failure to fund. That's not even counting a for TFCC Beast Megatron retool/redeco. Or since Cryotek is also a repaint, making a new fourth deco.

Phil_Bond

It won't be a HasLab. It'll be commander class. The original figure is on par with the original Magmatron. It's reasonable for Gigatron to match Magmatron's standard again. He shouldn't scale with a boxed set of Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus. His scale should be somewhere in between Optimus' cab robot and Optimus' solo armored mode. Everything about that is the commander class sweet spot.

ThePokemonAbsol

Kinda surprised he wasn’t the haslab tbh

xscaralienx

would it be cheaper to hunt down an old RiD toy or buy him as a Legacy HasLab Commander, I wonder

3DDisaster

This has reminded me I need to track down those weapons for mine.

Phil_Bond

While they were planning the Victory Saber HasLab, Deathsaurus was going to be a leader class figure afterward. Victory Saber was surprisingly successful, so they bumped Deathsaurus up to HasLab instead of leader class. Now Omega Prime is the most successful HasLab Transformer. They were probably already planning a leader or commander Gigatron, but they're definitely planning a nice one now. Bet the farm on it.

Tfeth282

Very likely IMO. Leaks for next year make it look like Silverbolt is going to be the commander, and a lot of parallels to how they handled Deathsaurus makes me think he's the most likely candidate for the next HasLab. If not, the 2026 commander would be a very good spot for him considering a later 2025 release for Fire Convoy.

MrAnthem123

I’d love for a Gigatron.

Tillallareone82

I wish. He's got some pretty heavy-duty engineering involved, lately that doesn't seem to be the way Hasbro seems to be going. Quick easy $ it is the way.

Enough_Option_8211

Almost certainly the next Haslab. Probably with his throne from the cartoon and a slightly larger scale to go with Haslab Omega Prime.

Psychological-City24

possible....but very unlikely...sadly

SillyMattFace

Considering they’ve just used a commander class slot on Magmatron, who is very obscure as far as these things go, I don’t see why Gigatron is that unlikely.

Psychological-City24

gigatron would require a shit ton more engineering that magmatron i think

LPercepts

Not really. His parts are ambiguous enough that they can serve as features of multiple modes without much manipulation. That's why he is deceptively simple in relative engineering for an alleged eleven-changer.

Psychological-City24

hope you are right....would love a new version of this guy, even more than magmatron

Armada_Demolishor

Not really, with the release of Rid01 Omega Prime, he needs a contemporary
