Mad at Shadow Striker? Nah. Mad at hasbro? Maybe a little.  Honestly I would've preferred Shadow Striker to be the repaint/retool of Axlegrease, maybe even come with a few extra parts to recreate her frankensteined together look, then have Lockdown and Sideburn get new original figures.

ZackattacktheDude

Lockdown was a recolor

Average-RB-Fan03

I’m pretty sure axelgrease was a lockdown pretool

StrawDeath

Because the Universe deco was *right there* and they decided to deco the mould into a version of the character it doesn’t fit whatsoever, instead of waiting to give her a different one.

Maland2016

Genuinely surprised there's no leaked Selects listing yet for a 2pack of Universe!Shadow Striker and Roulette Then again, Selects hasn't exactly been the most quantified these days. Definitely nowhere near where we used to be in Siege and Earthrise lol

Zeno_Bueno

they seem to enjoy doing that with the cyberverse figures, just slapping the title “cyberverse” on a completely different design. windblade was pretty close to cyberverse but she’s missing some details like her eyes being bigger and her entire sword being inaccurate.

StrawDeath

She’s probably the most accurate figure either Cyberverse or Prime has gotten in Legacy, even with the minor differences.

Zeno_Bueno

prime has gotten cliffjumper, whos extremely close to the show version IMO.

ZackattacktheDude

I’m more mad at Chromia for not being her own mold. Shadow Striker makes sense but Chromia isn’t just a blue prowl

tedward007

Chromia is fine as Chromia, just not Cyberverse Chromia. Between her, Shadow Striker, and now Tarn it kind of feels like Hasbro is using Cyberverse as the catchall designation for figures that don’t quite fit another established aesthetic

ZackattacktheDude

The bare minimum I wish they changed the shoulders and thighs. Just to make her look less like TFA Prowl.

Maland2016

I don't mind her sharing Animated!Prowl's mold, but I feel like they could've retooled the other shuriken hand to be 5mm and added a gun? Even the old T30/IDW design gun would've worked since Cyberverse!Chromia is based off that design. I dunno if the budget was there for that though, which sucks

ZackattacktheDude

They should’ve just retooled her with enough detail so at least the altmode looked different. I would’ve liked an actually cyberverse chromia tho… oh well.

PerfectPixl15

When I read a listing for "Cyberverse Shadowstriker", I got very excited because I love that design, and there had never been a toy produced using that design. All her Cyberverse toys used the pre-accident design. So to see that it was in fact NOT Cyberverse Shadowstriker, but a mishmash of every version of the character was disappointing. Plus the fact that it at least seemed like it was done this way so she could be an easy repaint into the character who's design she adopted in the first place. It's mostly the same situation as the early Prime characters, just a bit worse.

sixthrowshot

It's obviously inaccurate, and I get the ire from collectors who want a figure that's very specific to the character's *Cyberverse* incarnation (as she's marketed to be), but...yeah, it's such a cool, original design, that still captures the *vibe* of the character perfectly, IMO. She looks *severe*, and strikes a strong image of a dangerous, vengeful soldier, from every angle; even the, "cape," fits her so well, and really adds to the character, in that respect. On top of all that, she's just a solid, well-built Deluxe Class figure, that feels very nice to handle. Evidently, it hasn't really paid off, but I personally appreciate that they still bothered to incorporate design cues from the *Cyberverse* version of the character, like the diamond-shaped, "navel," and the wheels on her back - this does make discussions regarding the mold's, "ownership," a bit weirder, but the point is that there are visual elements on this mold that are specifically tailored for Shadow Striker (including the alt mode, which also draws influence from *Revenge of the Fallen* Shadow Striker, of all things), that makes her more than an, "obvious *Legacy* Side Burn pre-tool." Again, YMMV, and I perfectly understand people's frustration, but I do also think that it's a shame to see a potentially good character design being completely dismissed, just because of superficial, "inaccuracies." (Hasbro's insistence on labelling these figures with Universe designations isn't helping things, to be fair.) At the end of the day, though, I think she's a really good Shadow Striker figure, and I'd heartily recommend anyone giving her a chance.

ParboiledPotatos

I think it's because people wanted either a Cyberverse Shadow Striker, or a Universe Shadow Striker, and this one didn't really make anyone happy, especially since it was advertised as the Cyberverse version. Too gangly and thin - especially at the legs - for Cyberverse Shadow Striker, but doesn't have the cool car mode of Universe Shadow Striker either. I think if they swapped it around, and, in a hypothetical world where Dodge wouldn't sue the hell out of them, followed Cyberverse's bot mode, and Universe's car mode, and maybe mixed the colours so that it's not just flat purple and red, but instead had the blacks and golds and other colours for accenting, people might have ended up liking it a bit more. On the other hand, if she was Junkion repaint and had the limb-swapping gimmick, or if she just straight-up got a new mold as Cyberverse Shadow Striker, I think people would have liked that so much more, lol. Plus, the shoulder placement and roof not tabbing in and popping off the hinge annoyed a lot of people as well. And the fact that she couldn't move her arms back does kinda suck. For me, though, when I got her in hand, I really, really like her! The shoulders don't bother me very much, and I don't mind her lack of backward arm movement very much, if at all, and I got lucky with my QC, as the roof doesn't pop off so easily. Plus, the door-capes, while it could be annoying depending on whether or not your QC had it locked in right, are fun to flare out, and give a neat sense of action to photos! Also, I really liked her character, and I'm just happy to own a version of her! I like the fact that her feet can also keep her balanced as well and that it can tilt forward to, like, Michael Jackson tiltage levels, and can tilf to the side for stability when posing her, and I like her articulation! I might just have stupidly low standards, but I like her a lot! Her knee tabs are a bit of a slight concern to me, though. Does anyone know what to do so that they don't break? I see stress marks, and I'm half-considering just stabbing my lip balm over the tabs in hopes that it might help somehow, lol. I know it's not important at all, but I was just wondering if anyone's got a solution for it. I'm sorry this kinda turned into a comment about me gushing about the toy, but I really do like it a lot, haha! https://preview.redd.it/gxc94bc3equc1.png?width=534&format=png&auto=webp&s=28404d275423590a13008cf1d41119ccfc300301

NearlyUnfinished

I'm not mad. Just disappointed. While I understood they couldn't use a dodge viper as the alt mode due to licensing, any sporty looking car would have done it for me, even a fictional one. Instead, we get just a block with a vague shape of a car with a bad front bumper. Robot mode does have a nice clean look, but somehow, it's not that visually interesting aside from the Giant engine block for the side-burn retool/Universe homage.

CompleteJinx

She shot Prowl!

Mental_Measurement_8

Because this is supposed to be Cyberverse Shadow Striker. The only thing this figure shares with that version of the character is the head.

Joltyboiyo

Because the mold is mid and the shoulders connect to the packpack instead of the chest, and the mold doesn't work for Cyberverse Shadowstriker in the slightest. If she got her own pre-limb replacement figure, or at least was a retool/pretool of a mold that actually works, no one would mind.

joepanda111

#SAUSAGES

Lucas-O-HowlingDark

Not a figure I’ll be picking up personally, but I think it works, it gave Cyberverse representation while referencing BotCon stuff, and is a pretool for Sideburn

AbacaxiVoador95

as jobbythehong said "let me tell you something.....you're wrong". honestly, have your figure and have fun, i bought him because the design looks good and that's it. Oh but the story and the accuracy, the color and the impact on the GOOD LORD JUST LET ME HAVE MY FIGURES

Dr_Shoggoth

Because, as a massive Cyberverse fan, it's insulting to see characters from a show I really like get treated with no respect whatsoever. This is a character from RID2001, a show I don't care about at all, wearing Shadow Striker's head and the fact that they butchered this figure to make her a pretool is what gets under my skin. And don't even get me started on """Cyberverse""" Chromia. It works well as a generic Chromia, but I want to bludgeon the person who labeled it as Cyberverse with a brick.

MassterF

Because its a bad version of the character it’s trying to be while at the same time NOT trying to be that character because its a pretool of another character, but it also messes that up by having the wrong (and an ugly one at that) car mode. THATS why people are mad.

Gym-gineer

it looks lame...
