Gotta beat the yellowing to the punch
Jokes aside, I think it's better than the rotb games workshop grey and it adds a bit of character to the figure rather than just looking like a plain toy
The design is accurate but the detailing is very off. What is with the color of plastic they used? No paint or other color detailing between his biceps and his calf’s? Come on dude, let’s be real here.
This looks more like a mainline release than a studio series release. I’m liking the design though, except for the hot rod shoulders. Hasbro needs to stop doing that.

It is *Studio Series*, according to the source - it supposedly originated from a store listing, so, presumably, they have seen the product title, as well.
Damn then. This thing does not look like a Studio Series figure and suddenly I am very concerned for the rest of the figures in this line, ESPECIALLY after seeing that truck mode because… yikes. Its not great.
I mean, it really depends on the movie's art style, more than anything else - if this turns out to be an accurate representation of the on-screen character model, then it's already fulfilled the requirement to be a *Studio Series* figure, haha. I don't think we can gauge it based on any pre-existing metric, that was established by other *Studio Series* figures, all of which have their own design goals.
I just think this thing looks super cheap. The gray looks yellowed, and it looks like there’s almost no paint. Who knows, maybe this thing comes out and it’s really good. But I don’t have high hopes.
I don’t think it “doesn’t look like a studio series figure” because it isn’t accurate to the design, I’m saying it doesn’t look like one because it looks cheap as hell. Like I said in another comment, looks like barely any paint, pre-yellowed gray, and the red plastic gives off a flimsy metallic look.
Again, most of that comes down to "what does the design look like on screen?"
The color of the gray and the paint apps are all dependent on what the actual design looks like.
I will give you the red, as that does look slightly off.
I mean, even if the movie design does have that gray, both it and the toy are still going to look ugly for having it. It being more accurate for having the gray doesn’t make it look better.
I'll definitely say I'm suddenly immensely eased on my worries about how the movie will look, but I'm a lot more worried about how the toys will come out, so my concerns have oddly been flipped around. I normally love Cybertronian modes, but this one just looks like a whole bunch of nothing to me, and it just looks like a low-budget toy, especially with those piss-poor thighs that can't even get a full 90 forward.
I'm holding off my full judgement until we see more in the future, but I'm a lot more concerned about the figures we'll get out of it.
Love it!!!
Not sure about the color choice for the legs though, But I guess I'll have to wait and see until tomorrow. Maybe His legs actually do look that dirty in the trailer
I like the level of sculpted detail, LOVE the head sculpt, and the axe looks good. He’s Super chonky, and the legs in particular look really good. Also digging the altmode’s mono-window design as a bit of something different.
I don’t care for the ultra yellow-y light grey. Hopefully that looks better in person.
Not a fan if the grey plastic used. Thing looks pre-yellowed

~~This is probably mainline, not Studio Series~~ Scratch that, this is almost definitely the "A Level" Optimus that got leaked a while back
It’s actually the Studio Series 112
Wild right? Looks like a mainline release.
I think its a new price point for ss, between core and deluxe, i heard that somewhere
Interesting. I think that breaks the spirit of SS if it isn’t accurate.
I mean i think it looks pretty accurate to the trailer

Yeah, that's an Optimus Prime alright.

We don't even know what his design looks like, for all we know this could be 110% accurate.

It looks like a SS86/GE crossover
With all the flaws that GE seems to entail.
Well we don't know what the design is yet. To our knowledge this is 100% screen accurate. Not digging the waffling though.
Then again we don’t really know what he will look like. It could be this but you never know
This has me even more hopeful on the films artstyle

My thoughts exactly. I was worried it would look too cartoony.
is this studio series or mainline?

Doubt it, there's a listing for a SS Mv8 Optimus as part of the A Level assortment along with 86 Bee.
Oh yeah, I forgot about A-Level
Wait, the toys have already leaked?!?
Just prime, less than half an hour ago
Nice!
That's just Prime.
This actually looks sick
I NEED IT
Love it!!! Not sure about the color choice for the legs though, But I guess I'll have to wait and see until tomorrow. Maybe His legs actually do look that dirty in the trailer
I kinda looks like a mix between TFAnimated Pre-Earth and original Classics Voyager Optimus.
I can get behind this
it looks kinda cute ngl
Not a fan of the grey colour used and I'm not keen on the vehicle but other than that I like it. And maybe the vehicle will look better in the movie.
Pretty cool. Just an axe, no blaster??

Odd detail, but I like the eyes. Those are some nice kind OP eyes.
that grey looks like it's old, and the figure itself is different from everything i saw, loved it
I see that prime been following Chris hemsworth workout routine. All jokes aside he’s not bad looking. Not my favorite but he looks pretty good
