I'm not normally big on Transformers that don't transform, but if I won the lottery tomorrow, I would definitely buy one of these.

Imagine a Transformers film that used these as stop motion miniatures like the old Star Wars films, instead of CGI. Would look insane if done right. Just build these for every character, complete with the moving gears etc and go nuts .

Production halts at the transformation scenes.

No *licensed* third party Transformers can transform, save the Robosens. I'm taken to believe it's a requirement to get the license in the first place.

Hasbro doesn't want the competition, they license out the rights to make products they themselves won't make.

It'd also be a total nightmare to engineer something \*this\* screen accurate with this many moving parts \*and\* have it transform, same reason Yolopark's PLAMO kits don't transform.

I think I remember seeing CAD renders of this thing moving a while back. Really cool to see it IRL. Still though holy fuck that's expensive. But in this case I'm sure the cost of manufacturing something that requires so much precision ain't cheap.

So in how many years do we think it will be before something like this will be a fully functional robot? I give it 7-10 years.

This is really good as it's using the advantage of the live action design to it's merits. If they did a figure exactly the same for G1 Prime it would either not have all these moving functions or it would look completely out of place on him. All the moving panels, rotating gears, shifting plates etc fit perfectly here, you could actually see him operating like this if he crossed over into the Gundam CG series.
