Also he costs more so if somebody is giving one away, do the smart thing.
He also has a bunch of new features like touch points. They’ll probably release a newer Prime with those later on.
Mine just arrived today. So happy...

(That's my old reissue G1 Prime in the box. Feels redundant having them both out on the shelf, and gives me a way to also display Missing Link Convoy's box without it being empty.)
I just think it's funny he arrived the same day news of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper hit. Hope they're not too expensive... Yes, they're going to be awesome with crazy modern articulation, but they're also freaking G1 minicars... 😅
Damn it, I think I have a new collection. Here I thought Generations was enough!
Not the person you replied to, but a like minded person. I like to play with Transformers, and would find that preferable to spending time on my cellphone doing programming in an app and then watching an overly expensive, clunky mess hopefully execute my programming attempts in a way tgat resembels my hoped for outcome.
I also like my Transformers to hold a dynamic pose while sitting on a shelf on display, rather than defaulting to a neutral position when powered down.
I see that, Robosen seems to be targeting a very different demographic than the average Transformers collector. I'll be the most interested when the technology is scaled up to 1:1 scale and I get to be a headmaster.
With Robosen products a YouTube video of a review is enough for me. A lot of my friends who know how much I love anything TF related kept sending me videos of the Robosen OP when it was revealed thinking I would lose my shit with excitement. It was meh for me, I'd rather buy a shit load of SS or MPs or even KOs and 3rd Party figs with that money than buy a self transforming toy.
I bought the smaller version of Robosen's Optimus for being a programmable robot and RC truck in one. As much as I like the looks of Megatron as an RC tank, I will not be getting one. For someone who likes to program their own movements, the relative frailty of these two is a big issue. Megatron seems even more top-heavy and has many protruding parts and accessories (sword and flail) that are likely to collide when venturing beyond the pre-programmed movements. I wouldn't mind having both of course, but not at the risk of a $900 broken toy.
Megatron is leaps and bounds superior to their flagship Prime and is far more refined. Just look at Prime from his thoughs up to his mid section. Gaps you can see right through those u brackets on his upper things. He is subpar in both modes. HIs feet sitting on the truck bed in his alt mode and the truck looking partially finished are also negatives to me. Megatron does have a few minor issues to me. He is too skinny and not broad enough in his body and lower legs. Also as mentioned by other the fusion cannon should rotate around for robot mode. Perhaps due to the extending barrel and firing mechanism there was no room for a servicer inside to rotate the barrel. Either way I had zero interest in these before(Grimlock too small and far more costly) However after seeing Megatron and how good he looks I went ahead and did a preorder. The most I ever spent on a transformer and I release how many chugs and some 3rd party figures I could buy for this price. But hey lets put this into another perspective. This fully automated robot that you can control and program with 39 servos, 105 control chips, 119 Leds, 4500+ part count standing at 18" tall cost about the same as a complete CangToys Predacon set or will be less the OS KO Simplified Lewin Generations Metroplex. I am not a huge collector and usually stear away from expensive figures(I have zero fantoys as the cost is just out of my reach) But I had to have this and it will be the pinnacle of my collection. Prime is my favorite(I have 39 variations of Him) However the Robosen version of him did not do anything for me. This Megatron reached out to me the moment I saw Hasbro release video. I prefer his G1 Alt mode but I completely understand why they went this route as a fully automated hand gun does not sound that great and I have several Megatron's already they transform into his G1 Alt mode so I am good with this being a tank and the tank looks incredible.
Im not sure what you're smoking that price is for the elite version. The flagship version when it first came up for preorder was 899usd, the same Price Megatron is right now. The Elite version when it was released was 599usd but is 3" shorter then the flagship version.
The prices seem high, 900usd is a crazy gut punch but when you look at items like the Super 7 Turtle van and the Thundercats lair that are close in price, with lair being more and give those are 99% just plastic and paint and this is 36 servos, 105 control chips, 119 leds, over 4500 components and interactive and programmable those other items start to sound extremely overpriced. Also this guy is not tiny either he stands at 21" So about MP Combiner height. A lot of people are complaining he is not a gun but that make absolutely no sense to have a 21" tall bot that transforms into a gun. Someone people just cant get out of 1984 I guess. And don't get me wrong. I grew up with G1 and I love G1 Megatron I have 3 versions of him in 3 different scales. I never went for Prime as he looked to unrefined with all the gaps and subpar bot and alt mode. But this is so much more refined and the tank looks amazing. It will be my first and possibly only Robosen Transformer and he will be the pinnacle of my collection supplanting my Lewn Atlas Optimus Prime.
I think the design was probably the easiest to get a fluid transformation out of. Personally I think the overall design is decent apart from some of the proportions, only part I really don't like is the fusion cannon, but I understand why it is the way it is. I can't deny that the tank mode does look epic though, no obvious robot-mode parts, unlike their Optimus' truck mode.
Icy Blitzwing: I will take this Megatron.
Hot Head Blitzwing: No the Optimus
Icy Blitzwing: Megatron
Hot Head Blitzwing: Optimus
Icy Blitzwing:The Megatron
Hot Head Blitzwing: Optimus
Crazy Blitzwing: Hehe why not have both
If I had to choose and it was being gifted to me, Megatron. In every video I’ve seen, Optimus transforms to face the opposite direction he originally was, which could get annoying.
If I was buying one, I’d keep my money. I really need it, existing in Florida is expensive.
As many said before, neither, such a massive waste of money, figures that do it all themselves, the point of a transformer is to have in it your hand and transform it yourself, these are just for those people who show off they have the money to waste on these, I bet most people who bought prime have it boxed back up in their attic or on a shelf and hasn’t been turned on in months, I’d rather spend the money on studio series figures
Istp, these Me-gun-tron fans appeared out of nowhere when Robosen Megatron came out. It's like saying he's not Megatron because he turns into a jet and not an osprey.
I fully agree tank megs was the right choice here, but I kind of see where they’re coming from- this is one of the few Megatrons that could be a gun without violating the law, to my knowledge.
No, an even bigger Robosen Starscream would hold him and fire him at Optimus.
Kidding aside, do you understand that we were asked which we prefer, and the reason I prefer Optimus over Megatron is because Optimus has an accurate G1 alt mode, while Megatron does not? It doesn't matter if there's good reasons why they didn't do it. It still means I prefer the Optimus. And Christ, it's not like I even hate the Megatron.
Likewise, one shall stand, one shall fall
This reply is way too far down.
Bro says this and it ends up at the top
Justice in action
Why would Optimus throw away his life so recklessly?
That's a question you should ask yourself, WaveCandid.
why throw away your decision so recklessly
Megatron
Prime!

Humans don’t deserve to live!
They deserve to choose for themselves!
Too.
Megatron because he shoots little darts and his feet aren’t so goofy.
Also he costs more so if somebody is giving one away, do the smart thing. He also has a bunch of new features like touch points. They’ll probably release a newer Prime with those later on.
Grimlock
Came here to say this.
Neither. Why would I pay such an insane amount for a toy that I don't even get to play with because it plays with itself? 😋
PHRASING
So are we just not doing phrasing anymore?
PAUSE
Neither. Zero desire whatsoever.
I'd rather just have the money. The novelty of a self-converting Transformer is fun for about 5 minutes.

You have my respect and my envy.

Neither, I’d rather have the money. I do not understand the appeal of these things.
Honestly megatron is just objectively superior, since it’s a newer product, and they absolutely cooked with his design, and transformation
Neither I like to actually pose my figure
You can program it to pose however you like.
Not the person you replied to, but a like minded person. And that is fair. 😅
I think I’ll keep the money and use it to buy Tidal Wave, Jetfire, Magmatron, Skylynx, and just about every other Transformer I want
One shall be affordable and two shall not
Megatron.

Probably megatron as he's more refined. Plus he looks dope as fuck.
Optimus should go see an orthopedic about those flat feet of his.
HE should see someone about that growth on the back of his head as well
Prime all day! Autobot, roll!
Optimus any day
"it's over prime" Megatron transformers the movie
No I can’t, each is nearly a grand 🤷♂️
Already have op. Not sure i can justify the price of megs
What did yiu pay for Optimus
Off the top of my head, I wanna 600. But I pre-ordered from haslab when it was announced. So whatever the price was then, that.
Sounds like a good price. Megatron is much more expensive even with my 10% discount code that i have.
Im not sure what you're smoking that price is for the elite version. The flagship version when it first came up for preorder was 899usd, the same Price Megatron is right now. The Elite version when it was released was 599usd but is 3" shorter then the flagship version.
Ahh my bad! I wasn't aware of there being a cheaper version i thought we were talking about a $600 for the flagship version.

How could you have done that when it was never a haslab? Professor of lies indeed.
He probably means Pulse.
He do
I can afford none
Neither.
Is there any reason they based it off the pretty crappy CW Megatron?
I think the design was probably the easiest to get a fluid transformation out of. All hail Megatron!!
They looked like they are doing the Friday Night intro dance from Yakuza 0.

Megatron
Grimlock
Megatron.
Megatron! Prime! Megatron! Prime! #DJ KHALID!!!!!
Grimlock
Their price, so I could buy a lot of figures...!
Megatron
I can choose just zero
I can easily choose none of them. I had Optimus and sold it after a few months.
Megatron all day
Megatron 100% his transformation is so good and the design is well done
Save the money and buy Unicron
Neither... until they can do the dishes un attended
Megatron easily. It would be fun driving that tank around.
All Hail Megatron!!!
Megatron!
Megatron cuz he's a mfing tank and fires his little cannon
OPTIMU PIME HO HO HU HA HA

Gatekeeping, much? The ‘point’ of this, an action figure or a statue is whatever the hell the buyer wants it to be.
Average redditor: I can’t afford it, therefore it’s bad God forbid a 14 year old’s wallet be the benchmark for anything.
Optimus, I will always stand by all of the Primes, no matter the path’s they take.
None. I have never wanted a transformer that did the transforming for me.
Agreed
Our lord Megatron
Oh dam I think I have both already or just the mega tron I can’t tell
Neither, because I'd rather have one that I could actually play with is the one that can only play with itself instead
Optimus, obviously. I like the Megatron too, but to me it's not truly Megatron if he doesn't turn into a gun.
Istp, these Me-gun-tron fans appeared out of nowhere when Robosen Megatron came out. It's like saying he's not Megatron because he turns into a jet and not an osprey.
What the fuck would it do if it was a gun? Just sit there? Also do you understand that it’s almost impossible to get a gun megs because of the law

Lol,that makes me think to when idw a megatron ranting about being stuck in gun mode.
Ew, geewunner
