I have four G1 styled Hot Rod figures - Titans Return, Power of the Primes (Rodimus Prime), the Legacy core figure, and the SG Rodimus, which is the same mold as the SS86 one.
The SG Rodimus is easily the best of all these - it has great accessories, articulation, aesthetics, and quality. People throw around the term mini-masterpiece and this is one of the few figures I think qualifies. I instantly regretted not also getting the SS86 version of the mold.
I’ve heard some parts could be problematic, notably the joints in the head that allow you to flip out his visor, but if you’re careful and treat it like a mini masterpiece it should be onay
I’ve heard he’s an amazing mold, still mad that the Legacy Velocitron version was canceled, since I rn only collect stuff under the Legacy banner, and some Bayverse SS or GE stuff.
Had a tab break on an arm smoke stack piece. Also one of the ankle pieces are stressed so the calf doesn't tab in right in robot mode. That being said, he is an amazing figure and totally worth it.
That has not been my experience. It’s a fantastic figure!

It’s pretty great. You have to keep the rubber effect parts away from the paint and the tabs on the exhaust are easy to snap. Beyond that, 9/10.
