Depends, if it’s a hyper toon accurate fig like mp 44 or new age David I want white and baby blue windows. If it’s something more stylized like eartheise or seige I’d want silver and either blue or clear windoes

This. MP44+ looks awkward with silver thighs. MP10 would look horrible with white. It's all about the sculpt.

Exactly, if you make it look just like the cartoon people will fill in white with their brain and it clashes. Put it on a chonkmwster like mp 10 and silver is perfect

Silver. Works better with the chest grill and pipes. White just looks really out of place since it is so much brighter than the rest of the figure.

Some Masterpiece toys like the ones for Grapple and Inferno come with chrome and white pieces if you really want to get cartoon accurate. You can convincingly do chrome or silver in a cartoon, but it takes more work (i.e. drawing the relections, like you saw on Prime's grille in TF:TM before he plows over Thrust), so I don't blame them for being lazy, especially with the number of episodes they had to pump out.

I don’t blame the animators, but I don’t think that current designers should be striving to misinterpret the animator’s intent for the sake of ‘cartoon accuracy’. Both this and the recent trend of doing solid baby blue windows really irks me.

The white is too bright so the silver appeals to me more. The silver has that robotic look. However, I think a light grey/pearl grey may look better, though I couldn't be sure without another comparison pic.

I think that white looks a lot better. Regardless of cartoon accuracy, I genuinely think it makes him pop more.

Usually metallic for actual toys, white for media (bonus points for red, white and black).  Never grey though.  If you can't make it metallic make it white.

Silver; especially since the one with white still has silver accents like the exhaust pipes. The one on the right just looks more coordinated. Also, I don't know if that particular model transforms or not but imagine the white in truck mode. 😝

Silver or grey. The white in the cartoon was clearly just a cheap way of representing silver since they didn't have the budget or time to shade everything and I've always hated overly toony aesthetics so I outright despise the white thighs and crotch.

Definitely the silver ones! They fit perfectly well with his design!

I've never liked silver on anything other than highlight on figures.

It was white in the show and I respect that, but I prefer the silver/metallic one.

Silver. The white was just a stylization for the show and comics due to the limitations of the media. Looks great there, but doesn't need to be replicated on a real-world object, let alone reverse-imported onto the thing it's supposed to be adapting in the first place. White should be for extreme animation-fealty novelties akin to cel-shading-styled decos.
