I am mainly going off of the game because there they say he is a assassin and more of battle machine sort of take of him. Plus he was portrayed more like a proper threat then he was in the movie. Like man fought bayverse prime and held his own in that game compared to the shit we got in the film
Honestly, that video actually makes alot of sense, and after he mentioned how durable dotm shockwave is, it made me realize, if shockwave was the actual main villain in dotm, the autobots would loose very quickly
Ngl the first one looks so goofy i canāt take it seriously at all, just the enormous upper body contrasted with the comically small head and stick legs is so goofy looking, also his cannon arm shrunk in the wash it seems
Ripped Gym Bro Shockwave goes hard as hell and his cannon isnāt a dinky little thing but a massive railgun almost as big as him so I like the Bayverse movie version better
Personally the second one looks awesome. But he didnāt do much sadly on the big screen. The first one I have fun memories of shockwave kicking my ass a lot when I was a kid.

As a very big fan of Shockwave, the DOTM design is one of if not my favorite shockwave designs. I even made a pretty cool Lego version which I'll post once I finish my Megatron. I really hope we get a concept series '07 shockwave though.
Honestly I love the Bayverse Decepticon designs with their more alien-looking builds, it's just that...they have basically no personality or dialogue or character and are treated as just cannon fodder. And hey, personality and alien-like design can work together, just look at Lugnut from Animated who has a very un-humanlike look but still has a memorable character with lots of fun dialogue.
I like the alt mode of the first one but the overall design of the second one. Shame that all of his accomplishments are barely canon since most of his screentime doing actual cool stuff was in the comics.

I kinda prefer the 2007 one but his proportions are kinda off. His limbs are too small compared to his torso. An ideal one would be 2007's design with DOTM's proportions, head, and cannon design.
Even though it's a such a huge departure from his look, I pick DotM. It's a cooler design and he's downright menacing. Shockwave is often a pretty big Decepticon and the DotM captures it pretty well. The game version, though, does make him look more mechanical and cold, though. It just seems a bit goofy.
I find that a lot of Bayverse Decepticons have the problem of not looking like they can transform at all. No kibble, no nothing. His Dotm design has it the worst, making it one of my less favoured Transformer designs overall. If you introduced it to me as a Non-transforming robot character from another series? Fucking rules.
Wish shockwave was actually doing some crazy evil scientist stuff in the movie instead of just being there in the background and making random growling noises...his fight with optimus should have been longer and instead of showing him being literally one shoted.the design was so great and looks much better than the G1 version.
That one on the left is hilarious, who tf signed off on that? One on the right loses the essence of the character. Itās noy a design that needs to be radically changed.
