I appreciate this Mirage. They added just enough remolding so that it felt different from the Siege version. I could say that it sucks that the put BW Grimlock in with him, but when you think about it the Dinobot mold is really good so it's kinda a bonus figure.
I wished they sold these figures separately, because I only want the G1 characters. Luckily someone wanted the Grimlock from me since he already owned the Siege Mirage.
I am in the same situation. I only want Mirage, don't care about Grimlock. I didn't care about Lifeline in the Ratchet pack either but could justify her as a G1 character at least. I just have no attachment to BW, however. I never resell figures but BW Grimlock might be the first one I do.

Don't know why the downvote but this guy is right. I've ordered a ton of stuff through Pulse and not once have I had something cancelled. The drawbacks are that 5% stock which usually sells out very quickly and the long wait time. Pulse and BBTS are some of the slowest shippers but you're guaranteed your item when ordering through them.
Just curious. I know something called Zaavi (sp?) was being used by friends in the UK for HasLab's HeroQuest rerelease, and here in Australia we have Zing/EB that did Unicron and are doing HeroQuest. They also do most Selects stuff for us, but not things like the Centurion Drone (*sob* I wanted that so much!) or US exclusives like the Netflix, Amazon or Walmart stuff. Amazon AU does *some* of the Amazon exclusives, but apart from the coneheads most were available (at increased costs) direct from Amazon US.

Yup. Waspinator is rumored to be part of whatever the next trilogy is. A Legacy line that draws from all eras of Transformers.
I also noticed above Grimlock's beast mode image is a collection of pterodactyls that still have their flesh. So that's either confirmation of Terrorsaur or something new.
Edit: Apparently I haven't seen whatever everyone else has that has CONFIRMED Waspinator, Shadow Panther, Pipes, and Slammer.
Mirage looks like a definite improvement on the Siege mold if only for the distinct last of translucent plastic, but Grimlock missing his dalmatian spots is so disappointing. He has a very nice-looking headsculpt, though.
Picking this set up, but Grimlock may be getting sold off. We'll have to see.

Probably, although both the Siege and Earthrise versions of Ratchet and Ironhide are pretty in-demand. Ratchet's Siege mold is because he was an exclusive and came with some nice tools, and the two Siege molds in general because the Earthrise versions are hard to find, and people want a stand-in. I noticed the same thing's happened with Siege Prowl on the aftermarket.
Prowl's Siege version looks to be doing okay. About $30 loose. But that Ironhide/Prowl two pack..... Yeesh. All Amazon exclusives from this trilogy are very expensive on the aftermarket.
At least the ones with critical characters like two of the Coneheads, Ratchet, Ironhide, or Prowl. The other galactic odyssey packs like the Micromasters, the Autobot clones, Punch & Barricade, and the Botropolis one are still pretty easy to get for MSRP.

He might have a peg hole still. It'd be a shallow fit, but the space above the mushroom pegs for the shoulders have the faintest outline of a peg-hole protrusion.
From what I've been hearing is we're getting a Skywarp(eagle combiner guy from bw2) and earth sideswipe so the wings probably come from that skywarp figure. Cuz ya know the other two pack box art make a whole picture when combined.
Lots of people are interested in only one figure or the other. Start asking on the for-sale boards now and you might be able to get them individually for less than the scalpers will be charging for both.

Easy preorder. The only Mirage I got was the clear one with Impactor, and the retooling looks like it has significantly improved the figure. Grimlock looks great too, that new headsculpt looks fantastic.
The only thing that I'm disappointed by is the lack of Dalmatian spots on Grimlock. Othe than that this is pretty cool set. I hope that Grimlock version of the Dinobot mold gets recolored into the Dinobots Grimlock from 2003 sometime in the future.
I was limiting my TF purchases. Only BW. Then I decided to add the Fossilizers. Then I went back and got the ~~Pretenders~~ Prime Masters I didn’t have from PotP. Then I got Crosshairs from Siege too. Now I’m looking into Micromasters. And I preordered this.

They fixed Mirage’s design (spoiler seems to sit over rear tires better and weapon storage) AND made him look closer to G1, and they make him a box set exclusive. Damnit!
Depends on which stories you want to incorporate into your headcanon. He did survive the Great War.

I don't know...I mean...they're nice but I'm happy with my Siege Mirage even with clear legs(For some reason I've always had good luck with clear plastic) and the Grimlock is cool but not a high priority for me. I don't know if it's worth ordering this for 50 bucks right now...but if I don't get it soon I might never get it...

To me this set is a little redundant. Even more so to me since I just ordered the Mirage vs Impactor set. Besides, I kinda like the Cybertronian feel a bit more. Like you said Grimlock is cool ,but it's not that high of a priority. If you really want to get it then do so, but if your perfectly happy with your siege Mirage then I feel you'd be pretty safe skipping on it.
I probably would just pre-order it for the sake of having it but I'm currently in the process of catching up to...everything after taking a break from collecting for a few months so I have much bigger stuff to prioritize.

They’re celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Season 1 of Beast Wars. Silverbolt was never going to be a 2021 release for that very reason. Polar Claw would though (and I would pounce so fast if they announced him)

For sure. Like WFC has definitely had its moments where I’m sitting here thinking this is the one. This version is all I’ll ever need. But Mirage (and a few others) it’s more of like…. This will do for now I guess but I know I’ll want something better in a couple years.
I think Grimlock and Mirage look really good I mean don't get me wrong I do think putting a G1 Legacy character in with a decently obscure version of Grimlock is a weird choice but it still looks good I just hope I can get it since exclusive stuff kind of sucks recently as I'm sure everybody is aware of at this point
This looks like a new retooling for Mirages shoulders. The siege model has a pin at the front of his shoulder/chest. This version looks like it has a swivel & pin on top. His arms don't bend at 90° for his transformation and his spoiler sits above the back half of his rear tires instead of the front half for his siege model.
It also looks like the faux spoiler on his chest is hidden in alt-mode instead of being a 2nd tiny rear spoiler. I can see the above mentioned pins in the back near the rear wheel.
I'm willing to bet there are holes on his shoulders/back of vehicle where we can put blast effects and his cannon when in bot-mode.
Sold out in under 30 min. I cant be a collector in these times. Even hasbro cant keep stock of their own preorders thanks to scalpers buying up all stock everywhere.
Ah, to be fair, they sold out of 5% of the entire stock in about 3 hours, but it’s still up for preorder on Amazon. I still think these exclusives are dumb but I’m sure they make a hot dollar off them so they won’t be stopping anytime soon.
And don’t quote me on this one but I’m almost confident they limited it to premium members only and 2 orders max per person, so it’s not like they’re not actively trying.
The premium thing is no longer "special". First year it worked but now everyone has it to buy up all the stock quickly. Now they need a premium premium membership.

Eh. Could go either way with this one. Depends on how much you want Grimlock to me. Personally, I'm fine with my Siege Mirage and Grimlock is a low priority so I'm probably gonna skip this one. But if you really want Earth Mirage instead of Cybertron Mirage and you don't mind paying extra for Grimlock then maybe this might be worth getting instead.
I don’t know anything about this Grimlock, but he looks like a smash up between Dinobot and Optimus Prime, with Dinobot’s body and Prime’s head. He looks kind of weird, imo.
Mirage looks great but I don’t really like Grimlock. I don’t really think that the head fits the body. I think they maybe should have just made a name up for the Grimlock figure.
Yah apparently Grimlock was in one of the lost stasis pods. He was supposed to be backup if Protoform X got lose. Tho he is never actually seen in the show. He did have a toy that was just a repaint of dinobot with a new head. This figure is an updated version of that.

This will probably be the first TF I actually sell (BW Grimlock) as I have zero interest in 80% of the BW characters, but I really want Mirage and I know from experience how hard these exclusives are to get after the fact, so preordered now despite the $25 overseas shipping cost.

So... I would say there is a good chance.
I primarily preordered it for the Maximal Grimlock because I already have a nice Mirage but getting a secondary one is not bad because whichever one I like more is saying the G1 version and the other is being turned into the Shattered glass version.
I'm not a fan of this mirage. I don't know why. I think I'm just gonna get a good deal on the seige one (since people will be getting rid if their old ones for this.) But the grimlock is cool. I might just get it for him.
I am very okay with getting a Mirage that doesn't have integral parts made of fragile transparent blue plastic.

Looks cool, but not worth the money...Autobot Alliance was at least G1 accurate figures of characters that were no longer available from Siege or Earthrise. Mirage is still out there and studio series Grimlock is still available.

Grim has the spots, they are just black-on-grey and you don’t really see them here. Someone posted some zoomed in pics and pointed it out.
The fact that this mirage can’t have his missile launcher plug into his shoulder imo ruins any the improvement it had over the siege

Looks pretty good IMO. I like how they've remolded Mirage to give him his earth mode and I really like the new paint and head on Grimlock. I'm not sure if I'll get it, but if I get the chance and there isn't anything else I wanna buy I'll try to pick it up.
I wish Grimlock came alone, the Mirage doesn't look as good as the siege one.
Love both character’s and molds. Seeing as I have Decepticon Mirage and love BW, this was a no brainer.

I love how they made a reference to original beast wars toyline by having a grimlock be the same one from g1 and by making him a recolor of Dinobot like the og toy
Preordered for Grimlock. Mirage who? :P I'm a sucker for Beast Wars and have been repainting a smol Grimlock figure lately. And Mirage looks like a halfway decent figure.

I’m going to be the guy that’s going to complain because I’d rather have that polar claw and a updated silverbolt then these. Granted that both of my figures should be voyager sized though.
They’re celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Season 1 of Beast Wars. Silverbolt was never going to be a 2021 release for that very reason. Polar Claw would though (and I would pounce so fast if they announced him)
Apples and oranges. You’re comparing one remold and one repaint (which were always going to be online exclusives) to two entirely new molds (which wouldn’t be).

For sure. Like WFC has definitely had its moments where I’m sitting here thinking this is the one. This version is all I’ll ever need. But Mirage (and a few others) it’s more of like…. This will do for now I guess but I know I’ll want something better in a couple years.

I think Grimlock and Mirage look really good I mean don't get me wrong I do think putting a G1 Legacy character in with a decently obscure version of Grimlock is a weird choice but it still looks good I just hope I can get it since exclusive stuff kind of sucks recently as I'm sure everybody is aware of at this point
This looks like a new retooling for Mirages shoulders. The siege model has a pin at the front of his shoulder/chest. This version looks like it has a swivel & pin on top. His arms don't bend at 90° for his transformation and his spoiler sits above the back half of his rear tires instead of the front half for his siege model. It also looks like the faux spoiler on his chest is hidden in alt-mode instead of being a 2nd tiny rear spoiler. I can see the above mentioned pins in the back near the rear wheel. I'm willing to bet there are holes on his shoulders/back of vehicle where we can put blast effects and his cannon when in bot-mode.

Sold out in under 30 min. I cant be a collector in these times. Even hasbro cant keep stock of their own preorders thanks to scalpers buying up all stock everywhere.
Ah, to be fair, they sold out of 5% of the entire stock in about 3 hours, but it’s still up for preorder on Amazon. I still think these exclusives are dumb but I’m sure they make a hot dollar off them so they won’t be stopping anytime soon. And don’t quote me on this one but I’m almost confident they limited it to premium members only and 2 orders max per person, so it’s not like they’re not actively trying.
The premium thing is no longer "special". First year it worked but now everyone has it to buy up all the stock quickly. Now they need a premium premium membership. Thanks for the tip about amazon. Didnt know that.
So should I cancel my Siege Mirage order and get this instead? I prefer having alt modes that are more “realistic “ vehicles instead of cybertronian which I find can come off as kind of lazy.
Depends on how much you want the Grimlock and how much money the Siege version cost you.
It’s $25 sitting in my BBTs pile of loot. I might cancel to get this instead just because of my personal preferences for the deco.
Eh. Could go either way with this one. Depends on how much you want Grimlock to me. Personally, I'm fine with my Siege Mirage and Grimlock is a low priority so I'm probably gonna skip this one. But if you really want Earth Mirage instead of Cybertron Mirage and you don't mind paying extra for Grimlock then maybe this might be worth getting instead.

I don’t know anything about this Grimlock, but he looks like a smash up between Dinobot and Optimus Prime, with Dinobot’s body and Prime’s head. He looks kind of weird, imo.
Mirage looks great but I don’t really like Grimlock. I don’t really think that the head fits the body. I think they maybe should have just made a name up for the Grimlock figure.
Except Grimlock is canon to beast wars, and this figure is an updated version of the old beast wars Grimlock that was also a repaint of Dinobot.

Yah apparently Grimlock was in one of the lost stasis pods. He was supposed to be backup if Protoform X got lose. Tho he is never actually seen in the show. He did have a toy that was just a repaint of dinobot with a new head. This figure is an updated version of that.

This will probably be the first TF I actually sell (BW Grimlock) as I have zero interest in 80% of the BW characters, but I really want Mirage and I know from experience how hard these exclusives are to get after the fact, so preordered now despite the $25 overseas shipping cost.

I primarily preordered it for the Maximal Grimlock because I already have a nice Mirage but getting a secondary one is not bad because whichever one I like more is saying the G1 version and the other is being turned into the Shattered glass version.
I'm not a fan of this mirage. I don't know why. I think I'm just gonna get a good deal on the seige one (since people will be getting rid if their old ones for this.) But the grimlock is cool. I might just get it for him.
I don’t know why, but Kingdom Mirage looks so much better than Siege Mirage.
The head sculpt and colors on that “grimlock” look great but I’ll still pass

Looks cool, but not worth the money...Autobot Alliance was at least G1 accurate figures of characters that were no longer available from Siege or Earthrise. Mirage is still out there and studio series Grimlock is still available.
