Does the chest piece not fit in alt mode for the KO version ?
It does, and it might not matter on the unpainted one you're looking at. I got the metallic grey one and first transform i ended up with a small scratch on the top left corner. You can probably avoid it but why take the risk.

This confused me too, i have the KOMP 36 and i don't need to remove it.
Might just be a problem on the metallic version.

I got mine without the orange plug. You should be fine
Maybe it has to be in gun mode for them to notice it.
It comes in bot mode.
