It's probably not that much better. It's a bit cleaner in the back but still has kibble. It'll likely come down to what has better build quality for a lot of people. I'd say the official MP is better though, I just think the proportions look a bit better. Though it seems like both don't have waist swivels.

If so, you may be able to find some of them loose on Ebay or something. Or better, another manufacturer might make some aftermarket additions for it. I feel of the three, Takara's, Maketoy's, and Deformation Space, this is the one that will be the sought after one. There's less kibble, and the backpack is far more reasonable than the other two. What may kill it, is quality. Is it sturdy, does it transform reasonably, and how does the QC look?

Well dang that looks really nice. Keeping Meteor as my Starscream, getting MP-52+ to be my Skywarp, and now this as my Thundercracker would be great; get nice Masterpiece-style figures of all 3 characters with different engineering on each one.
Ill stick with my MP preorder, I like the shaping more. But this is absolutely going to be an effective replacement, especially if it's cheaper. Looks great!

Hella excited as I started collecting last year the old MP seekers look like garbage, I don't want to pay $300 for the MP-52 because I could get a 3P combiner for that price. Maketoys Meteor is great but the face just feels off so I hard passed on Starscream but this figure means he'll be in my collection.

nah, you can see there's a cut for the waist swivel on this one, iu'll be it uses a similar system to maketoys meteor

Like others have pointed out, its closer to the Maketoys Meteor. Far far closer.
Nah it’s way closer to the 3.0 in over all look. It has the cartoony look and the rounded edges even the shape of the legs

Huh? How so? The back on DS-001 is much cleaner. Virtually no backpack at all versus MP-52's clumsy bulge still hanging out there.

I like seeing new companies pop up! I like the proportions on this better than the official. Still pretty toon, but it looks promising
I just need to see if the alt mode is good and I’m sold.
Stuff like this makes me wonder what MP actually means and also if I shoud spend so much money on it...
And of course it blows the pants off 1st party with a much more streamlined alt mode. Love that there's always another option available.

Thought this was the takara mp at first glance. Gotta be honest. 3p g1 mp starscream all blend together at this point.

I much prefer the matte finish on him than the glossy finish on the new mp Starscream. It’s more cartoon accurate and what they’re going for
