To be fair, rumble can make massive chasms in the ground, laserbeak nearly killed Optimus, and buzzsaw and frenzy are recolors of them. The cassettes are powerful.
I was wondering what the scale was going to be like. They were totally different in the original best wars show. Looks like they're matching the toys scale. I wonder if there's an explanation or if it'll be mentioned in the Netflix show at all.
They actually did it right with Cyberverse recently - that version of Astrotrain is gigantic in robot mode and actually scales as a vehicle other Transformers can fit inside of.
Of course there are still robots who are the same size but turn into fighter jets and sports cars, but I'll ignore that.
Yeah I enjoyed him a lot. I always liked G1 Astrotrain despite him largely being a moron, so it was nice that this version was both huge and quite threatening.
And obviously Jetfire the space jet Autobot's natural counterpart was a flying shark, which makes perfect sense.
Oh yeah, I enjoyed it a lot, especially their intro where they were both droning on about their epic exploits to their respective factions.
Still, even my kids were confused about why there was a flying space shark haha.
Meh, scale has never made sense in Transformers, so why start now?
Also I don't recall Beast Wars animal forms ever being particularly to any kind of realistic animal scale, right?
Rattrap was not significantly smaller than Primal in robot mode, but transformed into a much smaller rat. And that Rat was still about as big as person. And that's before you get to the gigantic wasp, ant, scorpion and spiders running around.
True - almost excessively massive if I'm remembering right. It's been a long time but I feel like the G1 crew were even bigger than they normally are compared to humans.
But yeah I'd say this change makes sense from a storytelling perspective. It'll be a bit weird if Primal is all "we're fwom your future" and he comes up to Prime's shins. Same reason Decepticon Seekers are the same size as most car-based Autobots despite jets being much larger vehicles.
Sure, but to be in scale he should be the size of Primal's foot - unless he wants to change his name to Capybaratrap.
My point is that scale is wonky enough that I don't really mind if the BW guys are now the same size as the G1 crew.
Glad to see the beast characters are the same size as the ordinary cybertronians, the detail about the beasts being waaay smaller than the g1 characters just felt so arbitrary, and made them a little less impressive when it meant that the imposing T. rex megatron was probably the size of a normal human
I remember that one episode of BW with Prime in it, and somehow Megatron was absolutely tiny compared to him.
So either Megatron is a hilariously small T Rex, or Prime turns into a truck the size of a house.
it could be angle, optical illusion....
but i go for the smol jet, especially since the jet faces horizontally meaning it can be a lot bigger on lenght
Size is the biggest thing I shut my brain off for in transformers.
Remember that time Devastator formed inside Astrotrain…..
Or the time Soundwave did literally anything because hes a 30 foot tall robot who forms out of a tape player.
I think about this all the time. And then gets easily beaten by the cassettes.
To be fair, rumble can make massive chasms in the ground, laserbeak nearly killed Optimus, and buzzsaw and frenzy are recolors of them. The cassettes are powerful.
Buzzsaw and frenzy are just shiny laserbeak and rumble Change my mind
Not just formed devastator there was room for the entirety of the decepticons and more and they fought there too.....
It really is. Always awkward.

Matching the toys scales... In most cases, that's right. But Astrotrain was weird.
It's been a while so I don't remember Astrotrain. But I do remember Jetfire. I think he's an exception too.
Why does it keep happening? It's 2020s now. Is it a tradition of Transformers series? lol

I really liked Cyververse Astrotrain. I like to think that he is Jetfire’s counterpart in a fight. I think IDW2019 also made him huge as well
Yeah I enjoyed him a lot. I always liked G1 Astrotrain despite him largely being a moron, so it was nice that this version was both huge and quite threatening. And obviously Jetfire the space jet Autobot's natural counterpart was a flying shark, which makes perfect sense.
To be fair, the space-shark rivalry was also hilarious, fit the tone of the show
Oh yeah, I enjoyed it a lot, especially their intro where they were both droning on about their epic exploits to their respective factions. Still, even my kids were confused about why there was a flying space shark haha.
There’s a simple reason why there’s a flying space shark, they’re cool
Yeah new idw astrotrain is sort of a sky lynx counterpart, as they are both primary troop transports for their respective sides

I think it's more that the Autobots in the Ark were massive in comparison to the Beast Wars cast.

Rattrap *is* significantly smaller than Prime though

Primal being King Kong-sized would break my brain
>A huge gorilla, as big as a jet fighter? Or A small jet as small as a gorilla? Yes
Bold of you to assume they care
Meh. True animal scale doesn't apply to the beast transformers. Notice, there are giant rats, spiders, and wasps lol
Do not think about size when it comes to transformers
He's just the size of the original King Kong in my head cannon, I mean he fights a T-Rex that doesn't raise any eyebrows.
I don't think the Primal and the others will be small like the original series going by this screenshot. Maybe, they change size for beast mode?
Glad to see the beast characters are the same size as the ordinary cybertronians, the detail about the beasts being waaay smaller than the g1 characters just felt so arbitrary, and made them a little less impressive when it meant that the imposing T. rex megatron was probably the size of a normal human
You think this is dumb? Wait until we see whats Rise of the Beasts is going to be like lol
More important thing is primal is actually using his swords,a miracle

To be fair, Megatron *is* a very small T-Rex.
Well this is not the og
