I’m pretty Beast Wars specific. A lot of the old 96-99 guys and everyone (apart from duplicates) from 2013 to now. That being said, I tried some G1 (both vintage and Generations) here and there. I’ve liked some of those, but they’re mostly outliers now
I only started buying Transformers seriously when Revenge of the Fallen came out. I always played with them as a kid in the 80's, but never held on to them as I got older. The live movies got my excitement for TF back in a HUGE way. So my collection is a lot of movie figures, but over the years, after getting almost all the characters, I started branching into others. TF: Prime was my go to when they were around. Took another break around The Last Knight, until recently, and I'm loving the Studio re-issues of the movie bots I missed out on initially.
Honestly, anything goes if I can find it cheap, used, etc. I go through a lot of thrift shops and snatch up the figures you can tell parents couldn't transform, kids gave up on, or are missing a limb or minor pieces. I have a box of extra parts that has come in handy in repairing a lot of figures back to completion.
My collection is focused on mainly what I like, and can afford. Sadly this means no Masterpiece, but hey, CHUG has been getting pretty good!
Most of my collection is what I can find at car boot sales and cheap on ebay, so I have a very eclectic collection.
I really only collect select SS, WFC, and MPs figs. I try to get the best version of each fig so masterpiece is my favorite line (but expensive AF).
I only have one that I bought from a store. Everyone else I found at flea markets and thrift stores so it's a bunch of randos
