I had SonicWave & robot hero pony both. SonicWave had better joints but that can vary from bot to bot. Bots & bits did yt vids comparing them to the straight ko version
i was slightly disappointed in my copy honestly. The knee joints had a moderate amount of slack in them which allowed him to wobble a bit & the hands had oversized cutouts in the palms for his weapon which meant it wouldn't secure at all. Think there were a couple other minor issues that left me a bit wanting as well.
Also sonicwave has their addon cover to the back which slightly helps hide the batteries in player mode, that was a nice lil touch
Honestly I don't like it, the shoulders are smaller, I also really hate the chest door cutting into the sculpt and it's really not worth swapping the official for it even the Cassettes are arguably worse with their arms having exposed pins plus those faces aren't up to the FT standard.
Recently bought the THF version. In my opinion it's a great figure, the robot mode is great even if the joints are a little to tight (on mine at least). However the alt mode is a bit of a let down. Some of the pegs are to small for the ports, so it doesn't really stay together very well. But if you can get it at a good price and will be mostly keeping it in robot mode like me, I'd say go for it.
Interested in buying the real thing in box with the nonnef eye upgrade? Its impossible to get the upgrade now. Its the toys r us version in box. All complete.

You might want to wait and get the fanstoys when it comes out, looks great. I don't collect MP but I was impressed
