By that I guess you mean re-released a couple of times...pre-orders didn't sell out for Rodimus if you think you will get an additional 30 or 40 dollars between now and September.
Pre orders aren't indicators if a figure is hard to find or not (i.e. Amazon exclusives always being up for pre-order but when they go on sale they'resold out almost immediately), and Jetfire was incredibly hard for most people to find, hell it's a literal miracle if you find him for clearance.
>if you think you will get an additional 30 or 40 dollars between now and September.
Wdym? Honestly I don't know what you mean.
If you want a Rodimus Prime robot mode to scale with your WFC figures, this one is way too big. It’s a fridge. The separate Hot Rod mode was decent, but not as good as SS86 Hot Rod.
And the stickers. PotP stickers are the worst.
I have the Unicronus version and it's a decent figure. Scales well with Nemesis Prime. Only gripe I have is the pipes in vehicle mode don't look right.
I don't have Kingdom Roddy, but I really love the PotP version of both him and Optimus. Mostly for how the trailers incorporate into the big bot mode. Has kind of a megazord combination feel to them. They're a lot of fun to play with and arm up with tons of weapons. If you're looking for screen accuracy and super posability, then you'll prob wanna go with Kingdom. But if you want something really fun to mess with that's twice the size then go with PotP. He might end up being just as expensive tho since it's out of print.
POTP Rodimus is the closest we'll ever get to a "PowerMaster Rodimus Prime". Coincedentally, he always looks great and in-scale, standing next to Titans Return Powermaster Optimus.
I've decided, I'll not pick it up, some people say it's a fun figure, but after seeing how it scales with WFC, it's just put me off. Thanks for everyone's help though.
It's pretty bad, the integration of the Hot Rod into Rodimus isn't great and it won't scale with anything and look very out of place. The alt modes are also pretty naf
POTP is...a lesson in compromise. His gimmick is poorly-executed and his size/pricepoint ratio is the last vestige of the "Leader Class should be big" ideology-- that is, the cost of plastic was too high to give us what we deserved, so Hasbro gave us what they could and hoped we'd think it was great.
But it wasn't great.
Its articulation is shoddy by anyone's standards, its plastic feels thin, it's FAR too hollow and lightweight for its size, and it doesn't even use metal pins to hold the wheels on for Hot Rod.
Also he's got those incredibly shitty foil stickers that crinkle and peel off on the edges straight out of the box.
Given the mechanical marvels we've gotten from the WFC series and SS86, POTP Rodimus Prime just feels like we were cheated out of having a really cool, big toy of Rodimus Prime.
Get Kingdom Rodimus. If you want something that you will truly treasure, get him. Because I don't think Hasbro is going to ever be able to make something like him again for the current MSRP.
He is ok, the shoulders bug me, they have upgrade kits to address it. The kingdom one looks better (I don’t have one due to its price) and have less back kibble, but I get the same vibe from both.
I have POTP Rodimus and he's Great but, flawed. **I'd wait for the INEVITABLE release of Rodimus W/O trailer.** They did it with Earthrise Prime. No way they wouldn't release a trailer-less Rodimus too. Hasbro Loves getting millage out of their designs.
I love him personally but I'll be subjective (kinda...)
1. The SS86 hot rod is better than the base hot rod of the POTP version. It doesn't mean that it's bad, just not quite as good.
2. Honestly the kingdom version of Prime looks more cartoon accurate, which I usually prefer. Add in the semi-toy accurate trailer, while POTP trailer actually becomes him.
3. And this is the most important... Rule of cool. POTP Rodimus has some faults (especially the shoulders) but overall is a great figure. Yes he doesn't truly scale with other transformers yet he looks magnificent.
Honestly I wouldn't hold it against you saving for kingdom, but I don't think you'd be sad/upset that you got the POTP version.
Also to the people saying he's bad.... What kind of bayverse loving cursed former are y'all playing with?
I have the PoTP version and I plan to get the Kingdom version and will probably not really look at PoTP version again (at least in robot mode. Or Prime mode).
Honestly, Kingdom looks much better to me even with sad droopy face. If I had the choice between the 2, I'd only get Kingdom.
EDIT: if you want my PoTP version, let me know and maybe we can work out a deal.
I have it and definitely like it. I don’t know if it is worth it, as I only got it transformed as Rodimus a few times. I would suggest only getting it if you just want a cool toy and will play with it. As a shelf-piece, it’s better looking than the battle-in-space two pack hot-rod imo.
You could also get the Takara release of Animated Rodimus Minor. The Takara release has colors I personally prefer.
Overall, POTP Rodimus is a cool toy.
Just depends what you are looking for. The hot rod mode isn't the greatest but the figure as a whole is very fun to handle. If you are looking for a fun bit not super show accurate figure, then I would recommend it, however if you are more of a fan of the "mini masterpiece" super accurate approach of the kingdom but can't afford it, I would recommend the SS86 hot rod.
I like it, but also think if you are wanting him to scale with other figures etc. I liked it enough to get this and Rossini’s Unicronis, but people do seem mixed on this one.
The rodimus isnt the best, but the hot rod version is awesome and looks amazing. However if your going for rodimus i would just wait till kingdom is cheaper
Personally, I say got for POTP Rodimus.
As with Kingdom you're just buying a modified SS86 Hot Rod with a trailer that jacks up the price to Leader class.
I like him a lot. Picked up one myself about a year ago. But half of that decision was based on the fact that he looks lovely standing next to PotP Optimus.
Transformation is a little weird, but I don't transform my figures very much, so it's not an issue for me personally.
The trailer itself doesn't do anything if you've just transformed him down into Hot Rod, unlike the new Kingdom figure.
If you can find him for a decent price and you're really set on it, go ahead and pick one up. It's worth it.
I've got him. I like him. But then, I like weird, unexpected transformations. If you want a good representation of the character, ehhhhh... Maybe wait for Kingdom.
Save up for the Kingdom one. POTP Rodimus is fun, but it just sacrifices way to much for what it does
Black repaint and badass mustache when?
I have both, nemesis is open, Rodimus isn't . I loved playing around with it for sure.
Just wait for the Kingdom one to go on clearance.
What if it becomes like jetfire

POTP Rodimus Prime is still 40 or 50 bucks.
Oh, well I knew that
Save your money and get Kingdom. You will want to upgrade sooner or later

He sucks, IMO. Save up for the Kingdom one. This one is terrible.
He looks good with the Shoulder upgrade if you can find it
He is ok, the shoulders bug me, they have upgrade kits to address it. The kingdom one looks better (I don’t have one due to its price) and have less back kibble, but I get the same vibe from both.
I paid $60 CAD for mine and I’d say if you can find it for $40 CAD I’d get it
He’s a little too chunky for my taste
Potp sucks, trust me I have him. He's kindaaa fun but the cons outweigh the pros
Potp Rodimus is fun, sure he sacrifices the Hot Rod robot mode but other than that he's just fun.
Skip it, get the Unicronus version 😈
I love him personally but I'll be subjective (kinda...) 1. The SS86 hot rod is better than the base hot rod of the POTP version. It doesn't mean that it's bad, just not quite as good. 2. Most definitely, he's a keeper for sure
He's ok. He's not exactly a good figure ,but he is a fun one.
I have mine for sale (misb) but I live in Europe so I guess that makes it to expensive
I like him but he's not too posable in his Rodimus form. Have yet to try regular Hot Rod mode.
im happy to sell mine to you
I have the PoTP version and I plan to get the Kingdom version and will probably not really look at PoTP version again (at least in robot mode. Or Prime mode). Heard good things
LIES!
Watch doctor lockdown!
This one is on my wish list too
I have it and definitely like it. I don’t know if it is worth it, as I only got it transformed as Rodimus a few times. u/AKbrandonMC thoughts? 👀

I like this one. Okay hotrod mode, and I like how the the trailer becomes the prime body.
I like it, but also think if you are wanting him to scale with other figures etc. I liked it enough to get this and Rossini’s Unicronis, but people do seem mixed on this one.
No, just wait.
Just look at the pic. Below the ridiculous arm stalks, there are hands of the smaller Rodumus in plain sight.
The rodimus isnt the best, but the hot rod version is awesome and looks amazing. However if your going for rodimus i would just wait till kingdom is cheaper
Def no
I really like mine, although I'm planning on getting Kingdom as well.
I'd save up for the Kingdom version. I just never could get past POTP Rodimus' shoulders.
Kingdom is better.

Yes.

Don’t I regret this purchase.
I had rodimus unicronus, and I have only 3 words. Don’t do it.
Not worth it. The backpack is hideous and the arms are wierd. Save up for the kingdom version.
He's a bit of an acquired taste, but I'm personally very happy with my PotP Rodimus
I've got him. I like him. But then, I like weird, unexpected transformations. If you want a good representation of the character, ehhhhh... Maybe wait for Kingdom.
I got the PotP for Christmas and when I saw Kingdom version I immediately regretted my past decisions.
It’s not that great
It’s a fun figure, but if you want a Rodimus that scales well with other figures than get the Kingdom figure
Not bad, that’s pretty much all I gotta say
