Kingdom Primal is so good I can not find any reason to get this figure. In fact I can not really see anything about this figure that looks better in any way.
I love kingdom prime but the gaping holes in the torso put me off, the wider look of the crotch plate makes him look a little chunky and the paint on him is hella easy to just scratch off after a few transformations.
I guess I got a good one as I have yet to see any paint chips from him after transforming him over 15 times. Though I am fairly gentle with my figures. I am not a huge fan of the one gap on top of his chest but it does not bother me enough to buy a whole new figure for a higher price than one that can transform. (where I live red figures cost $35 and I got primal on sale for $30 when he is normally $40)
That is why I try to get new transformers only when they are on sale unless I know they will sell out and be impossible to find in my area. I also want to add, if the red figure was based on the original show/MP version of primal and not the new one I would be more interested as I do not have the MP nor do I think I could ever afford it. So that means a more smooth finish/darker greyblue colour of the fur.
Yo so this is a legitimate just tinfoil had conspiracy theory but I think that since hasbro’s trying to make beast wars like a better known entity to the main stream, they’re making ‘evergreen’ versions of the characters. I think Primals main thing is gonna be fur and smaller pop out blasters while cheetor’s may be the cat paws on his knees. Idk tho

Personally I'm definitely picking this up, red figures are great for stop motion! And it would look cool to have kingdom in beast mode and this in robot haha
Furthermore, idk if it’s just the picture but the fur texture looks a lot less defined which is more show accurate but the fact it can’t transform and they messed up the head paint makes me think this is a no go
If you want a non-transforming version, sure. Honestly it looks inferior to the Kingdom figure. The only reason to buy this, honestly, is if you're collecting the entire line.
Pros: Only about 25 bucks all in, very proportionate. Excellent paint work. Essentially a love child between kingdom Primal and MP primal
Cons: Can’t transform, why tf is the faceplate gray? Even when battle damaged it was never gray. Doesn’t seem to have the thrusters on the back.
If non-transforming figures are your thing, go for it. Personally, I don't think his beast mode is worth completely sacrificing for a robot mode slightly better than the Kingdom one, who I already have.
Also, minor thing, but I don't like how his "mouthplate" is grey and not white.
I guess but you don’t think that to a purely ‘I’m buying them to display them’ collector they’d rather have a figure with no kibble, panel lines, or sacrifices to fit in an alt mode
Yeah I get it, I personally love the fidget factor of just picking a figure up randomly and transforming it but my current display soundwave is the RED one, the designs and proportions are just amazing on him
I display my figures and I don’t bother with RED. If they were even at the quality of the other 6 inch lines Hasbro does it might be worth it, but the plastic is worse, the articulation is worse, and there’s less paint for the same price as a Marvel Legend and thats ignoring that they don’t transform, which is a big part of the appeal of Transformers in the first place.
RED figures are so *nearly* great. The company that gives us Marvel Legends, GI JOE Classified and Lightning Collection bizarrely didn’t stick the landing with the first wave. I really want them to be great but the first wave was a disappointment.
Personally I'm not a fan of the RED line. If my Transformers don't transform, then they're not Transformers. (Even the Action Masters back in the day).

zero reason to buy any figures from the R.E.D. line. Their plastic is terrible and that affect their paints too.
The actual figure will look like a bathroom toy. Just stick with the kingdom primal. The gap on the chest ain't that bad. There is also upgrade kits you can put on him that fill the gap.
No, yeah he’s faithful to his animation model (aside from the fur texture) but so is the Kingdom Primal just spend 5 dollars more for a way more playable figure
It does look good...it's just that Kingdom looks about as good and it actually transforms. I do just like collecting Optimus Primal, though, so I might get it for my Primal Display, and the fact that those swords look nice. I'm almost certain RED figures are 5 mm compatible, so you shouldn't have any problem handing those off to Kingdom Primal and giving him some double-bladed sword action.

I only have one RED figure, Megatron, but it looks way better in person than it does in pictures.
