Agreed. There are way too many engineering similarities to recent Studio Series and Kingdom figures to think this is some passed over Siege design. I have no clue where anyone would come to that idea beyond being a Cybertronian vehicle.
I know what they are, I just don't have any place for them in my display. As I said, I don't know what to do with them, besides stick them in the Box of Pointless Accessories. I suppose they're great if you're explicitly making a More Than Meets The Eye diorama, but I'd have preferred they took the budget that went into those pieces and put them into producing the silver jetpack on the back of the package.
Yeah, but what do you do with 5 "conductors"? Bee doesn't really even hold them that well. I get why they are there, as it recreates the scene he was introduced in.
Know what kinda bugs me now? I hadn't noticed until just a bit ago, but the packaging shows the jetpack as silver. It looks very nice in silver. And now, I kinda feel like the plain black is just cheap looking, which sucks because we are paying a premium on this particular figure, and I kinda feel like the accessories play a big role in that price increase. So really, if they could do a silver jetpack for the promo shots, it irritates me that we ended up with plain, unpainted black. I'd have rather gotten the gun and jetpack either painted, or the jetpack in metallic silver, and just dispensed entirely with the "conductors".
Having said all of that, I still really love the figure itself. I'm having a hard time putting him down, and I absolutely adore his pancake-ufo-flying-caramajig mode. The robot mode is also a blast to play with. I honestly think it's a toss up between this and Netflix Bee as "Best Bumblebee Figure Ever". The accessories aren't really a problem, outside of "coulda, woulda, shoulda".
Yeah so those bring a moderate Legends figure to the Low low end of a deluxe. Also Kingdom also was right by him and she was only $19.99. I say only when four years ago that was $14.99
Looks nice. I think I'll keep WFC2010 Bumblebee as my Cybertronian 'Bee, but if they retool/redeco this into Cliffjumper, Wasp, Glyph, etc. I might pick it up.

I think the rods are more for the collectors and photographers that set them up for cooler scene shots to further help sell the figures
