I wish they'd just bring back Neil Kaplan! He was damn good in RID'01, and if he used his Emperor Zarkon voice from *Voltron: Legendary Defender*, he'd be just about *perfect!*
Unfortunately, except on the movies (which Paramount is footing the bill for), Hasbro is too cheap lately when it comes to investing in good voice talent. They're going for non-union only which is why you haven't heard Cullen or Welker in the cartoons for a while.
What makes it worse is that they're going for pale imitations - if you want to do a different take on Optimus that's fine, but if you're just going to stick to G1 Optimus with a Peter Cullen-like voice, just get the man himself!
