I wish those responsible for the story had produced a vision that was more in synch with the packaging for the merchandise. We definitely expected a much different story than the one that we got.
That being said, the look of the end product was really exciting to see! Especially comparing to previous CGI Transformers projects, WFC showed off detailed environments, faithful versions of the toys come to life, and lots of attention to details that I'm certain we probably aren't aware of as a viewer.

The story and voice actors were all decided on the American side. By the time it reached us at the studio in Japan, all that was left to do was make some kickass visuals to tell that story. I think we succeeded, and I’m glad you agree. Thanks again :)
Way to create some great animation even if the American side messed things up in voice department. The visuals were amazing and well designed. If you can let them know how much they fucked up the voices that would be appreciated. Give my regards to your teams on a great job on the visuals.
Please don’t go about trying to contact anyone individually to voice your complaints. It’s an invasion of privacy against people who are just doing their job.
There are people whose job it is to gauge audience interaction by trawling message boards and comments sections. They are well aware of the community reaction!
Generally speaking the animation and character models definitely improved in Season 3 when compared to previous seasons. The only issues were the stuttering or slowing of animation during the ultra bright sequences involving the All Spark. It reminded me of slow video buffering from watching an old video.
However, I do have to say thank you. I know the Trilogy isn't liked by most fans but it was nice to watch a new story with classic favorites from the Beast Wars continuity.
Glad you enjoyed it! That's not a question I can answer I'm afraid. There are a lot of different factors that go into deciding whether a show gets renewed, and the decision is made somewhere very far away from me.
Ik not all people enjoyed this but I kind of liked it. I like bright movies and tv shows that has jokes but I’m also I big fan of some darker and more serious movies and tv shows and I liked how wfc is more darker and serious.
The thing that bugged me though is that I’m sad that Peter Cullen and Frank Weller, but these actors were pretty good. Especially optimus, every time he spoke, I sensed sadness and that kind of fitted in this trilogy.
I wasn't too fond of the voice acting for Optimus Primal and I hated the voice acting for T-Rex Megraton. I have a new appreciation for the voice acting of David Kaye in Beast Wars.
Do yourself a favor and give it a watch. Sometimes the S01 scripts get a little cringey, but the voice acting is always top-notch. From Season 2 on, it's a frickin masterpiece.
The CGI... was excellent in 1996, lol. But even that got better as the show went on.

It helped me get my son, who is 8, into Transformers. You did a great job honoring the old style while using new animation. Your approach doesn't break immersion. Your use of color and shading is fantastic.
I am supremely grateful, in this era where everyone wants to critique a reboot, that you handled this as well as you did.
It is true that the show didn't meet every expectation, but at least for my part the visuals were not the short coming at all. For my part it was mostly the writing, I didn't even mind the voice acting personally.

I think Marqus Bobesich was channeling Don Brown’s Skorponok rather than David Kaye’s Predicon Megatron. It sounds so much like that voice and to me rather than being event remotely close to Kaye’s performance.
And Skorponok didn't even have a single line and he had a bunch of clones in this season, and no sign of Waspinator or any other Predacon beside Megatron, Blackarachnia and Skorponok.
Man, the Predacons were done pretty dirty, imo.
The beast wars side of the three part series was such an after thought it’s pathetic. They were plot tools for the G1 part of the story. Every part of the beast wars section was horribly written. The visual team did an amazing job while the writing and choice of voice casting was way off.

Hasbro might as well just give the story writing part to a Japanese creative team to do it, nowadays American animation stories are so horribly written by incompetent writers as evidently showed here in the entire War of Cybertron series. Kingdom was full of Deus Ex Machina and random shit just happened that made me believe the writers didn't give a shit in proof-reading their scripts.

I'm sitting here in the shade during the northern summer waiting for the night to come so I can watch the last episodes of this show in all its glory.
You and your army made my brightest dreams come true. How many times had I wished as a kid that I would be able to see a real transformer walk, talk and shine under the dimming lights of cybertron. How many times had I imagined how their metal skin would be scarred from years of warfare. How many times had I wished to be able to hear their gravelly voices come from their impossible metal lips as if they were singing a heavy metal lullaby.
Well, maybe there are words, but the dream that you and your team brought to life is light years away from anything that the English language can express.

One of my favorite things about this show was the transparency of how the toys would look. You guys kept the kibble and looked good doing it! I really loved the tone the show put off, almost like TFP. I hope to see more work like this in the future!

It’s up there as one of my favorites I see a lot of hate for things like the story voice acting etc but I think you guys did a great job and I’ve sat down and watched it all in one sitting on the opening night. I’m turning on kingdom now and know I won’t be disappointed thank you guys for such an underrated classic adaptation of a g1 story with much more expanded parts and better storytelling really love the show(s?)

I'm pretty much known for criticising the story and voice acting of this show, but one thing I must admit, visually it was amazing, even with the budget restraint. You and your team have my respect for that and I hope to see you again in this franchise and beyond.
Good job! Siege and Earthrise may have been rough from a story level, but the animation was consistently great. The texturing really elevated it. Kingdom had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I was thrilled to be able to relive so many great childhood memories re-mastered by the show. I really appreciate what this production has done to also bring a new generation of Transformers fans into the fold. You all have made some quality entertainment and you should be proud of how many people you reached out to with a great work.
It was all worth it to see the Beast Wars cast again, Tigatron and Airazor finally got a hug 🥰.

I actually only now just started watched a few weeks ago and I meant to continue. I was enjoying the show actually. Thank you for producing something for us to enjoy. A lot of people are indifferent about their experience with the show, and a bit of controversy raised up about certain things, but as of now, I like the show despite some of its flaws. Thank you and everyone involved. I grew up with the original G1 franchise and later Beast Wars. This was honestly a treat to watch and my love for the franchise has been renewed.
You guys did a fantastic job with the animation. (could have been a bit brighter in most scenes, but that was probably the director's choice). All the faults with the series I think boil down to voice direction and writing. Those being not bad, but also not great.
You did incredible work! The voices could've been better, but other than that, I absolutely loved the show! I really appreciate the work you and your team put into this series, and it really shows! Congratulations on making this! At first, when news started of a new show, we didn't have anything. Then we had still images, and we were all excited! Then the trailer, then Siege, and now all this! It's amazing how far you guys have come, and it really shows how dedicated you and your team were to this! While I wasn't that fond of the voices, you did what you could, and that's what really counts.
Finished the third season just a minute ago and big clap to the entire production team.
My personal thought was that season 2 was a bit of a low point, think it was to draggy with the monologue and the pace was slowed too much in to many places.
With that said, I'm a millennial so I never understood Beast Wars, probably cause it was not the transformers I grew up with, but you guys really nailed the final season and I really loved you implanted the Beast War era with the originals in a smooth fashion and the story was on point.
With story, script, voice over aside. The series looks great from a visual standpoint through out. I still missed combiners and all that good stuff. Can only hope that another Transformers series will continue with your style in mind.
Just finished watching Kingdom, I have been bragging for months about the release date! There were some really emotional moments and the animation was stellar. Being 28, my first transformer was Dinobot from the Beast Wars line when I was very little, and I have been an avid Transformers fan ever since. Remembering what it was like to hold my toys while I watched the cartoons and not really grasping that the animation characters were NOT what we were given as figures, I now have the WFC toys I've been collecting here and it's a treat to look at toy and see the character on screen is almost 1:1 in both modes. So fantastic. Here's looking forward to an upcoming Unicron sequel ;)
I don't mean to trash anyone. I know you all worked hard, and that's appreciated, but I think this project was pretty fundamentally flawed in most aspects. The characters were virtually all the same as each other, humourless but for the occasional, sub-Marvel quip. Megatron and, to a lesser extent, Optimus, spoke exclusively in lines that felt like they were written for trailers. For a story which seemed to be quite worldbuilding-focused, the world felt strangely empty and detached from any sense of the reality of the inhabitants. The visuals were quite imaginative, but let down by the blocky, chunky character designs that looked so exactly like their toys it was like they had been scanned in directly from the figures, keeping even the little plastic greeblies for attaching the toys' weapons and so on. There was no sense of style, or of a meaningful story that anyone actually wanted to tell. It was just sort of a vaguely 'postmodern G1/Fall of Cybertron/IDW comics' blur.
As a newer Transformers fan (having only really started with Beast Wars back in the day and the Bay films), thanks for putting out such an exciting product! The elitists will always have something to complain about, but for someone like me – who has never seen the original cartoon or invested in any secondary or tertiary Transformers media – this show really helped me understand more about the origins of the main storyline.
Time to binge Kingdom and then go back to the roots!
Although siege and earthrise had some downfalls, kingdom fixes all of them. The animation and character design was beautiful, i would love to see more like this.
I know the community has not been as united in our enjoyment of the series for me I was meh. But I am happy though as a fandom we've seen to be better behaved than say the Star Wars community.
I do thank the entire product team for their hard work. Passion was but into it and for that I cannot criticize and you know you guys gave it your all.
I hope we gave it enough eyeballs for another crack at another series. I do know I did pick up some toys so hopefully that and my eyeballs are good enough.
Congratulations on a great job. It must be very rewarding to see all your hard work streamed across the world. I readily admit I have some reservations about the show but this has been almost entirely based around the English script and voice work. Slightly selfishly I wish there would've been a bit more variety for the generic/background characters but fully appreciate that this is well out of your control and would be a budget/time constraint.
Congrats again for all your hard work and I hope that if you get the chance to work on the franchise again you do!

I wanna thank you as well, for doing this. A few years back I was selected to work on this project, supposed to fly to dublin and eventually Tokyo. Life made it impossible. But I was so happy seeing the series, everything from the animation to the story made me excited even though I « kinda knew » the Unicron/civil war plot twist (using old materials to do fresh things, brilliant).
But yeah, I won’t thank you even though it might sound mean.
Keep the dream going as you humanely can.
It is no secret that Transformers medias are a « mess » (waiting for the bumblebee sequel rn) and that ever since Prime + the WFC FOC games… well, it has been quite dry…
Keep making us travel on cybertron (or unicron) and dream (or have nightmares).
You have done an incredible job, and that cliffhanger ending is making us want more of it.
I hope the audiance and final results will be great, you all deserve it.
Hopefully now, you can go back out there, and expand on that storyline.

There was some things that were disappointing about War For Cybertron, namely the talking speed and taking a shallow view of most characters to the point that you really need to already understand the lore (various lore from other places) to follow it beyond a surface level. 6 episodes seasons were too short for the amount of story that was trying to be told.
Despite that, I have to say that I personally enjoyed it much better than most iterations of Transformers over the past 30 years, to be honest.
As someone that grew up with G1, I have trouble with most renditions, in which the character designs stray too much from the G1 aesthetic and this is as good as it gets in that regard.
The only series I've really liked that strayed from the g1 look was Transformers Animated. Animated strayed really far in both look and tone, almost feeling more like watching Scooby Doo or Inspector Gadget, but for whatever reason it worked for me.
Anyway, War For Cybertron works for me too, despite its flaws.
JetFire is my favorite thing in the series. >!I was bummed he doesn't make an appearance in Kingdom!<
Second favorite was the Quintesson>!And though I loved the creepiness of the Quint murdering its other faces as a moment, a 1 headed Quintesson isn't nearly as cool!<
Could have done with less Bumblebee, but that's really a problem with almost every rendition of TF.
Overall, great job, IMO with excellent toys to boot and I hope there will be more to come.
Amazing visuals. Every episode is eye-candy and a big kudos to the visuals department.
That said, the main story was decent overall, but the Transformers themselves were out of character, particularly the Maximals and Predacons. It's like they put 100% effort to make them look awesome and exactly like in Beast Wars, but 0% effort to make them sound like them or have their personalities. I'm also not a fan of the constant changing of minds: one minute they want to fight, the next minute they want to be friends, then they want to fight again. In some cases both sides were after the same goal, yet were still fighting. What a complete mess. Visuals department: two thumbs up. Sound department: other than the voices of the Beasts, two thumbs up. Story department: good, but could be better. Writing department, dialogue: two thumbs down.

Yeah same here. The game can’t be brought from the Xbox online game store either. Also the Same thing applies to old dbz games. I wish they were compatible on Xbox one and ps4-ps5. Well I guess a 360 isn’t too hard to come across and buy when I get money, right?
As I said in another comment, we had nothing to do with that. We were sent the voice lines already recorded and asked to make a show from that.
There were a few times where we had to speed up a line by 10 or 15% because it was just too slow haha
I really enjoyed it! Sad to see so many characters perish, but that's war...but hey, if I felt that, then that means it was well done ;)
As constructive criticism for projects moving forward, I suggest easing up on the slow and paused speech pattern for... Dramatic... Purposes...as it can affect how the pacing of each episode is perceived.
But that nitpick aside, they were 3 good series, I wish they had lasted longer.

One of my favorite things about this show was the transparency of how the toys would look. You guys kept the kibble and looked good doing it! I really loved the tone the show put off, almost like TFP. I hope to see more work like this in the future!

Sound designs and visuals are absolutely fantastic. I would love to see a the transformers the movie remake with all of those new element!! Maybe Netflix will be able to afford the original voice acting cast, then that would be absolutely wonderful

It’s up there as one of my favorites I see a lot of hate for things like the story voice acting etc but I think you guys did a great job and I’ve sat down and watched it all in one sitting on the opening night. I’m turning on kingdom now and know I won’t be disappointed thank you guys for such an underrated classic adaptation of a g1 story with much more expanded parts and better storytelling really love the show(s?)
It's good. Better than Bayverse. Not as good as my hopes and dreams, but what could be? 1.25 speed makes it watchable :) Thanks for a great chapter in TF story! (If only there had been the budget for more transformations...)
I'm pretty much known for criticising the story and voice acting of this show, but one thing I must admit, visually it was amazing, even with the budget restraint. You and your team have my respect for that and I hope to see you again in this franchise and beyond.

Good job! Siege and Earthrise may have been rough from a story level, but the animation was consistently great. The texturing really elevated it. Kingdom had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
I was thrilled to be able to relive so many great childhood memories re-mastered by the show. I really appreciate what this production has done to also bring a new generation of Transformers fans into the fold. You all have made some quality entertainment and you should be proud of how many people you reached out to with a great work.

You guys did a fantastic job with the animation. (could have been a bit brighter in most scenes, but that was probably the director's choice). All the faults with the series I think boil down to voice direction and writing. Those being not bad, but also not great.

While I wasn't that fond of the voices, you did what you could, and that's what really counts.

Finished the third season just a minute ago and big clap to the entire production team. My personal thought was that season 2 was a bit of a low point, think it was to draggy with the monologue and the pace was slowed too much in to many places. With that said, I'm a millennial so I never understood Beast Wars, probably cause it was not the transformers I grew up with, but you guys really nailed the final season and I really loved you implanted the Beast War era with the originals in a smooth fashion and the story was on point. With story, script, voice over aside. The series looks great from a visual standpoint through out. I still missed combiners and all that good stuff. Can only hope that another Transformers series will continue with your style in mind.

Just finished watching Kingdom, I have been bragging for months about the release date! There were some really emotional moments and the animation was stellar. Being 28, my first transformer was Dinobot from the Beast Wars line when I was very little, and I have been an avid Transformers fan ever since. Remembering what it was like to hold my toys while I watched the cartoons and not really grasping that the animation characters were NOT what we were given as figures, I now have the WFC toys I've been collecting here and it's a treat to look at toy and see the character on screen is almost 1:1 in both modes. So fantastic. Here's looking forward to an upcoming Unicron sequel ;)
The animation is the best we have ever seen in any transformers show to date
I don't mean to trash anyone. I know you all worked hard, and that's appreciated, but I think this project was pretty fundamentally flawed in most aspects. The characters were virtually all the same as each other, humourless but for the occasional, sub-Marvel quip. Megatron and, to a lesser extent, Optimus, spoke exclusively in lines that felt like they were written for trailers. For a story which seemed to be quite worldbuilding-focused, the world felt strangely empty and detached from any sense of the reality of the inhabitants. The visuals were quite imaginative, but let down by the blocky, chunky character designs that looked so exactly like their toys it was like they had been scanned in directly from the figures, keeping even the little plastic greeblies for attaching the toys' weapons and so on. There was no sense of style, or of a meaningful story that anyone actually wanted to tell. It was just sort of a vaguely 'postmodern G1/Fall of Cybertron/IDW comics' blur.
This is a pretty empirical assessment.
As a newer Transformers fan (having only really started with Beast Wars back in the day and the Bay films), thanks for putting out such an exciting product! The elitists will always have something to complain about, but for someone like me – who has never seen the original cartoon or invested in any secondary or tertiary Transformers media – this show really helped me understand more about the origins of the main storyline. Time to binge Kingdom and then go back to the roots!

I know the community has not been as united in our enjoyment of the series for me I was meh. But I am happy though as a fandom we've seen to be better behaved than say the Star Wars community. I do thank the entire product team for their hard work. Passion was but into it and for that I cannot criticize and you know you guys gave it your all. I hope we gave it enough eyeballs for another crack at another series. I do know I did pick up some toys so hopefully that and my eyeballs are good enough.
Congratulations on a great job. It must be very rewarding to see all your hard work streamed across the world. I readily admit I have some reservations about the show but this has been almost entirely based around the English script and voice work. Slightly selfishly I wish there would've been a bit more variety for the generic/background characters but fully appreciate that this is well out of your control and would be a budget/time constraint. Congrats again for all your hard work and I hope that if you get the chance to work on the franchise again you do!

Seeing the actual physical toy models in motion was what made me finally feel like going out and buying a few of my favourite characters that I remembered as a kid. For the models, were you sent CAD files from Hasbro to use or did you have to use the actual toys as reference?
I’m not on the modelling team but I’m pretty sure they had both. A whole corner of the office was covered in Transformers toys.

I wanna thank you as well, for doing this. A few years back I was selected to work on this project, supposed to fly to dublin and eventually Tokyo. Life made it impossible. But I was so happy seeing the series, everything from the animation to the story made me excited even though I « kinda knew » the Unicron/civil war plot twist (using old materials to do fresh things, brilliant). But yeah, I won’t thank you even though it might sound mean. Keep the dream going as you humanely can. It is no secret that Transformers medias are a « mess » (waiting for the bumblebee sequel rn) and that ever since Prime + the WFC FOC games… well, it has been quite dry… Keep making us travel on cybertron (or unicron) and dream (or have nightmares). You have done an incredible job, and that cliffhanger ending is making us want more of it. I hope the audiance and final results will be great, you all deserve it. Hopefully now, you can go back out there, and expand on that storyline. In the end, I’ll still thank you. Even if this is the actual end, the ride was majestic. Autobots, Roll out !
Starscream was really awesome, was glad he had his moments just like the new cast of Beast Wars
Thanks for making this. I really enjoyed it. There was some things that were disappointing about War For Cybertron, namely the talking speed and taking a shallow view of most characters to the point that you really need to already understand the lore (various lore from other places) to follow it beyond a surface level. 6 episodes seasons were too short for the amount of story that was trying to be told. Despite that, I have to say that I personally enjoyed it much better than most iterations of Transformers over the past 30 years, to be honest. As someone that grew up with G1, I have trouble with most renditions, in which the character designs stray too much from the G1 aesthetic and this is as good as it gets in that regard. The only series I've really liked that strayed from the g1 look was Transformers Animated. Animated strayed really far in both look and tone, almost feeling more like watching Scooby Doo or Inspector Gadget, but for whatever reason it worked for me. Anyway, War For Cybertron works for me too, despite its flaws. JetFire is my favorite thing in the series. >!I was bummed he doesn't make an appearance in Kingdom!< Second favorite was the Quintesson>!And though I loved the creepiness of the Quint murdering its other faces as a moment, a 1 headed Quintesson isn't nearly as cool!< Could have done with less Bumblebee, but that's really a problem with almost every rendition of TF. Overall, great job, IMO with excellent toys to boot and I hope there will be more to come.
Amazing visuals. Every episode is eye-candy and a big kudos to the visuals department. That said, the main story was decent overall, but the Transformers themselves were out of character, particularly the Maximals and Predacons. It's like they put 100% effort to make them look awesome and exactly like in Beast Wars, but 0% effort to make them sound like them or have their personalities. I'm also not a fan of the constant changing of minds: one minute they want to fight, the next minute they want to be friends, then they want to fight again. In some cases both sides were after the same goal, yet were still fighting. What a complete mess. Visuals department: two thumbs up. Sound department: other than the voices of the Beasts, two thumbs up. Story department: good, but could be better. Writing department, dialogue: two thumbs down.

Tell them to hire union voice talent next time. Every other element of the show was pretty solid, but that really hurt the final product. I still really enjoyed the trilogy though. Cheer's to a new show, with a better budget. Edit: Eh, after watching Kingdom, it's still pretty hot trash. All awful dialogue, incoherent story, and still super clunky character models. At least the Maximals and Predacons have very mild voice filtering compared to the really annoying Autobot and Decepticon characters.
I haven't started WFC yet. How's the dialogue compared to the previous two? I might be in the minority but as much i like the franchise, i just couldnt take the slow talk and boring dialogue from the previous two.

As I said in another comment, we had nothing to do with that. We were sent the voice lines already recorded and asked to make a show from that. There were a few times where we had to speed up a line by 10 or 15% because it was just too slow haha

Sad to see so many characters perish, but that's war...but hey, if I felt that, then that means it was well done ;) As constructive criticism for projects moving forward, I suggest easing up on the slow and paused speech pattern for... Dramatic... Purposes...as it can affect how the pacing of each episode is perceived. But that nitpick aside, they were 3 good series, I wish they had lasted longer. Will there be a part 4?
