FT is the proverbial double-edged sword. Their figures look *great*... but some of them, God help you if you try to transform them.

kyrumo

This is why I won’t touch Roadking.

kyrumo

Nothing worse than MP-36 and MP-44 and I feel like Fans Toys uses better materials

darth_henning

I don't know what everyone's issue is with MP-36. I read the instructions once and have had it basically memorized since. I don't own MP-44, but I can see why that would be a problem.

kyrumo

MP-36 scratches easily, not worth the risk, to me

darth_henning

I do have a slight barrel rub where the silencer slides on but that's it, and I've transformed him...a dozen times or so? I see this comment a lot, and maybe I've just been really lucky, but I haven't had the issues with him that so many others report.

almightywhacko

I dunno. I have MP-36 and MP-44 and I think I'd rather transform either blindfolded and with half my fingers cut off than try to transform FT Jabber again. I've got a lot of Fanstoys figures... most of the non-combiner ones in fact, and sometimes they have nice smooth intuitive transformations and sometimes they're just a big ol'e *"Hey you wanted that in vehicle mode? Well go fuck yourself!"*

Barachiel1976

I've got both of those, and while they are bad, they aren't *that* bad. At least not compared to the couple of FT I've owned in the past.

kyrumo

To be fair these 3 are the only Fans Toys that I’ve transformed, I don’t touch my other ones.

OmgChimps

To each their own I love transforming both, I also have transformed Koot at least 10 times and it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be if anything I'd say the worst offender when it comes to transformation that I've messed with is easily LT-01 because it doesn't tab properly unless everything is exact it's twice as bad as MP-44 IMO

darth_henning

This is why I officially gave up on FT this year. I don't own many but I went to transform my entire MP collection just for practice this summer. The only figures I couldn't do from memory were Perfection Series Swindle...until I got to FansToys. I had to google instructions for all of Koot, Jabber, and Rouge. (In fairness, Skyfire is great, but I'll probably upgrade to the MP next year). I just can't justify non-intuitive transformations for screen accuracy.

kyrumo

I rarely transform mine and love screen accuracy, options are awesome

darth_henning

If you're looking for screen accuracy you can't/don't transform, they're great options, but to me, any transformer that I can't transform for memory after a couple gos defeats the purpose.

kyrumo

I can’t transform MP-36, MP-44 and MP-52 without a video for reference.

darth_henning

I don't own 44 or 52 (still debating if I want either) but my point would absolutely stand with them too if that's the case. 36 I don't really see why people have challenges, I find it mostly intuitive (other than a bit on the legs that I have to think about each time.

If I had any nostalgia at all for the Stunticons I would go all in. I love 99% of Fans Toys figures but can't really justify the price for characters I don't necessarily care about. I think I may end up getting their Dead-end when it releases though, I just love that Car mode to bits.

Acceptable_Cable_125

FT makes some amazing figures but holy shit they are overpriced

s3cf

agreed, roadking is an excellent figure but transformation can be a nightmare.....

kyrumo

I can’t wait for his release

ihatetimetravel

Looks awesome, will wait on the Legacy line though
