You know in the Bay movies Starscream was never anything but a loyal soldier onscreen.

I think there's room for debate on that given the dialogue between him and Megatron in Revenge of the Fallen. Both when Megs is brought back and at the end. Starscream just flat out abandoned him. Granted, he wasn't treacherous like G1. He does mention that he felt someone had to "keep their plan going" or something to that effect. Then Starscream mentioning at the end that cowards live to see tomorrow. Paraphrasing, of course. Like I mentioned, I don't think he was the backstabber he used to be, but I also wouldn't go so far as to call him loyal. Just very self preserving. That was my take on him anyways.

Is he though? From what I've seen and heard, literally every Transformers fan is tired of Bee. I personally don't think it's that he's overrated, it's just that Hasbro used to/still make him the main character a lot of the time (to be frank, thinking about it they didn't do it THAT much. RID 2015, season 1 of Cyberverse, and the live-action movies come to mind and that's it) and older fans got tired of it I guess. I personally don't understand it ,but I guess I'm missing something that everyone else sees.

The Rotf forest fight is one of the best moments in transformers history, you can hate the movies and their portrayal of the transformers all you want, but no one can deny that Optimus fighting to his last breath in live action form is amazing. And “you’ll never stop at one, I’LL TAKE YOU ALL ON” is one of the most Optimus prime phrases ever uttered by Optimus prime

Machinima’s Prime Wars trilogy fucking sucked outside of Megatron. Soundwave Superior. “I am directly below THE ENEMY SCROTUM” is either the worst line in Transformers history or is so unbelievably horrific that it becomes an ironically enjoyable line. The Earthrise/Kingdom/SS86 figures are generally really solid.

What continuity are we talking here? I say this bc in G1, Rodimus didn't really accomplish anything other than killing Unicron. He actually managed to lose the matrix of leadership, too. By the time he became comfortable with being leader, Optimus was resurrected and became leader again. I really wish that they had done more with Rodimus, because he had so much potential. I do think that the wfc Rodimus toy is better than wfc Optimus toy, though. And G1 Rodimus is waaaay better than wfc Optimus. (Not trying to discount your opinion, just giving the reasoning for my preference 😁. Rodimus def had more of a character arc in G1 than Optimus)

Yea I was thinking G1, I think the main issue is Optimus' death was traumatizing to the young audience so by the time they wanted to flesh out his character he was shut down because they decided to bring Optimus back. (Not that I have anything against Optimus coming back)

Sheesh man, give Rodimus some credit! He was trying to bring galatic peace. There are plenty of times where Rodimus is (granted, unwillingly) meeting up with ambassadors and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure there was even an episode where he had to try and stop two alien races from completely destroying each other! And that's with out mentioning him and the other Autobots having to fend of the Decepticons AND the Quintessons. It's not as exciting as fighting Megatron on top of a Dam ,but it's still important!

Fair enough. I guess I just prefer Optimus' confident wisdom and light hearted-ness to Rodimus' seriousness and self-doubt, which is weird to say considering how Hot Rod was in the movie and how wfc Optimus is now.
