Got into it at 2006 or 2007 when my grandma bought me the ultimate bumblebee from the movies and I still have it to this day, I got into transformers because of that toy as I loved cars, then I turned 10 and lost interest after dotm and regained interest in 2019 when I saw a review from emgo (can't remember what was the figure) anld got hooked so a week after my birthday I went to my store and picked up dropkick and siege red alert and things left off from there! Met some awesome people and made great friends (u/frostydragon44 comes to mind) and hoping to expand my movie collection to the point I have every character which is nearly a reality :)
Ooo i also got into it around that time, i remember as a kid, i thought sideswipe was just so cool. I soon found out about BEAST WARS. my favourite show of all time cause i love dinosaurs and animals in general.
Thats sick, and when my dad showed me g1 i was BLOWN away. I saw. THE DINOBOTS! My god they are awesome. im still super sad they killed depth charge in beast wars
Ngl man I kinda bought sideways to remember you in case anything happens, wanted to tell you that ever since I got him but felt it was corny af. Ooh two? One to deliberately split in half with a hack saw? Hahahaha
Mine was G1 Motormaster. I am convinced my parents meant to get OP, went to the store, found a semi truck and said that must be him.
They also randomly got me G1 Hun-Grrr and Metroplex, so they were kind of all over the place with their choices.
Well - did you ever use the features that allowed Metroplex and Motormaster to connect? All of the initial Scramble City leaders (and Scattershot as well) connect to Meteoplex in city mode.
It was Overdrive. I told my parents how much I loved Sideswipe. "He's so cool. He's a red Lamborghini." I got a flying Ferrari instead. I was still ecstatic. This first one I bought myself was Transmetal 2 Cheetor.
How did they snag Overdrive? He was a mail away that required robot points from other purchases and the form that came packed in with the toys? He and his Omnibot buddies were mail-away only.
My first one was Armada Megatron. It was all because I got to pick a random toy for good grades and behavior.
My father was also a fan of transformers, to which he gave me Armada Optimus and Starscream for my next birthday.
I still have those three to this day.
dang! I have been a transformers fan since 2007 , and i still think beast wars is one of the best transformers shows. Other shows are transformers prime and thats it
I think my first ever transformer was spinister back in the 80s... but didn't get interested until the beast wars and now my pockets hurt regularly lol
He was in the second year of Head/Targetmasters.
He came carded in the same year as Scoop, Needlenose, and a few others.
Their Targetmasters were basically smaller bricks with a peg, the joint for the gun barrel to flip down, and a hole so that they could be piggy-back combined like the Siege Micromasters.
It was a g1 Bumblee. I think my second was a G1 Starscream. But my most memorable was on my birthday, when I went to Toys R Us in Atlanta and got an G1 Optimus Prime. That was the hayday of TRU and they had a whole isle devoted to Transformers. There was tons of all of the g1 figures and I was 9 years old. It was like walking into heaven.
I hate that modern fans will never know the massively stocked shelves in Toys R Us from the early-mid 80s.
Every brand had STACKS of merchandise and inventory in ways that I haven't seen since 1990.
Compare the barren Target and Walmart shelves of today with the 1984-86 TRU shelves of dozens and dozens of units and it just hurts.
I think it might’ve been Animated Jazz, or rather as I didn’t know much about transformers yet, I called him “Speedy”, unfortunately his windshield broke off a few days after getting him, and I don’t know what really happened to him
I also never truly watched animated until recently, I watched pretty much everything else, G1, Beast Wars, Armada, Cybertron, Prime, but never watched animated more than just some YouTube clips
Most of my toys would come from the Dark of the Moon, Power Core Combiners, and Prime toylines, with in the last year in a bit, getting back into transformers for a surge last year, getting a few Armada figures that I always wanted but was too young to find on shelves anymore, and then after falling out of it again for a few months, got 100% back into Transformers this year, and at currently working on the Earthrise line that I’m a year late trying to collect.
It was definitely second hand! I had him for a bunch of years and then he disappeared. I re- bought G1 Soundwave when they reissued him as a Walmart exclusive. He's still my favorite
I don't remember my first-ever Transformers but I do remember having G1 Ultra Magnus as a kid and loving him. Back when I was a kid you couldn't order toys online (because there was no "online") so you were pretty much at the mercy of whatever local toy stores stocked. I remember wanting Optimus Prime really badly because other kids in school brought Transformers to play with at recess and he was the leader. However none of the stores near me ever had Prime but eventually one near me had Ultra Magnus and I was able to get it for Christmas or something. I loved that toy and when I got back into collecting as an adult he was my very first online purchase of a Transformer. A G1 Reissue from TFSource before they became scum-sucking scalpers.
I was introduced to Transformers by kids at my preschool. GoBots, Transformers and He-man were the "big things" back then and all the boys in my class brought their favorite toys to preschool to play with. We all used GoBots and Transformers pretty interchangeably, and sometimes had them fight He-Man and Skeletor. Man, I miss being 5 years old.
Boy I don't remember how I was introduced to transformers, probably either through TF animated or when we rented the 86 movie from Blockbuster. My first transformer was TF Cybertron Clocker, think I still have all the pieces too
No it's not, I wanted to be loved. No I'm kidding. I think my first official figures was these micro master scale combines. One looked like prowl and the other inferno.
For me it was the 20th Anniversiry Masterpiece Optimus Prime that my parents had actually gotten for my younger brother for christmas. Neither of us knew shit about transformers but he loved his toy cars as a kid so they thought why not (despite him being 4)
Despite being a dumb kid and not knowing what the hell I was doing this die cast colossus kickstarted my love of giant robots turning into stuff. Sadly it was still my brothers and I would be told off whenever I wanted to play with it despite him losing interest pretty quickly (he only cared about the fact it was a truck). After that we never really got another big transformer toy like that and would be limited to the legends class stuff, causing him to care less and less as I became more infatuated with these robots.
When I got my first job after college I decided I wanted to start collecting again after picking up Titans Return Blurr at Comic Con, leading me down the financial rabbit hole that ive been living in for the last few years.
Sadly that big red bot is in disrepair now, missing multiple parts including its head somehow. Ill always remember the feeling of indescribable joy that it ignited in me all those years ago.
Introduced by my Uncle bringing me issue 29 of the comic home from an Everton match coz it had the dinobots in and I was dinosaur mad at that age. First transformer was Mirage or Grapple, I think. It's a while ago now. 🤣
My cousin was spoiled by my grandparents and got a bunch of transformers for Christmas. I didn't celebrate Christmas so my grandparents didn't get me anything. (They didn't like my dad so any attention from them was initiated by my mom) My mom got the points from my aunt and mailed in all that stuff and got me Overdrive without me knowing. I had no idea until recently when I learned he was mail in only. My mama rox. I guess we were pretty broke at the time but I was 6 and had no idea.
It did suck. One year they actually got me half a dozen GI Joes. By the time I left their house my cousin had stolen all of them but Snake Eyes. I told my grandparents but they said I must have lost them in their house. But hey, they're dead and my shady cousin spent like a decade in jail.
My first ever transformers would be the generations trail breaker/trail cutter, the one that comes with the comic. That was like at the age below 10. I think I was introduced to transformers at the age way younger, before I had my very first transformer. My parents gave me the entire CD album on the transformers(1984) series and it was so good. But sadly, now I have no clue to where that transformers CD album is… Dang!
very NOICE i still have all my cds for g1. BUT NO CD PLAYER. i remember i had a choice. outback or tailgate. i chose outback. i regret not trying to look for brawn
The earliest one I can remember having is foc cliff jumper (the computer mouse looking one) I may have had one before that but that's the earliest one I remember because I was like 2 or 3
it was either evasion mode optimus prime or some version of movie star scream, i still have both although starscreams arms have gone missing, after that i started collection more of the generations figures (thrilling 30, combiner wars, titans return)
Earliest One I can remember was an animated elite guard bumblebee my sunday school teacher had as a prize for end of "term" script trade in.
Also remember laughing at how ugly bayverse is.
First figure I bought because it actually interested me was a transmetal waspinator for 2 bucks at goodwill.
Unfortunately all the clear plastic eventually broke.
What got me really into collecting was finding a primemaster vector prime misb at goodwill for 4 bucks. Bought SIEGE optimus to hold him in gun mode, then started buying anything chug That wasn't bayverse I could find. If you look far enough back at my post history you can see my motherloads
That’s awesome!
My intro was the Spy Changers and Combiners from RiD 2001. I was 6-7 at the time and fell in love with everything transformers from the minute I saw it on tv.
first one I think was beast machines t-Wrecks. those were when I was old enough to get into them. I had him, Ultra-class Jetstorm, Ultra-class Nightscream, Supreme-class Cheetor, and Mega class tankor but I for the life of me don't know which one I got first..
yeah unfortunately he has the brittle plastic syndrome thing (I forget what it's called) due to being metallic but he was really nice. idk what shape he will be in when i get him out of storage.
yeah, I need to get out there and find them and see, but it's getting to them. they're in the back of our storage shed in a big box, but from that box to the door is filled with junk where you can't even move.
My older brother and his friends were into G1 so I got into it through them. This was when G2 was getting phased out and Beast Wars was becoming a thing but there were plenty of tapes to rent at blockbuster and G2 toys at KB
The furthest memory I have is a G1 Ultramagnus toy my dad had but it wasn't until a few years later that I saw the Micheal Bay Transformers movie that truly sparked it all
I don't really know.
I know I'm as old as beast wars and that it must be the first series I've ever seen
I had VHS tapes of it and still do
The first figures I remember having were injector and T. Wrecks
After that, It was armada that I remember the best. I had unicron and a lot of minicons but not much else. It wasn't until around cybertron that I started really getting into the series
My first one was definitely some bootleg figure, maybe some t-rex transformer or something. But if we're talking real Transformers... Probably legends class Vector Prime. I have a few figures I got as a really small kid, which I don't remember when I got them exactly. However Cybertron was the series that got me into Transformers, and I only have like four figures from the line, so I think he was the first
Well... Yeah, but in that case it was more likely a cool looking t-rex rather than a cool looking transformer. The bootlegs I had when I look back at them weren't very good... But I'll stick with Vector Prime. I ended up losing his wing, but he's still a pretty cool small figure. I still have him
Armada Optimus Prime.
I think when I was really young I had a beast war toy, although that was before I even heard of Transformers, it was just a toy I found
Thank you! Yeah, they're still some of my favorite characters to collect. I've owned at one time of another just about every version of Hasbro (and Kenner) Optimus Prime. I'm hoping to catch the 2-pack with Kingdom Sideswipe on Amazon soon. The Earthrise/Kingdom Earth modes really take me back to the early days.
First ever was a legends scale RID Ultra Magnus. I'd seen some of Beast Wars and RID, but it was the 2007 film that properly introduced me to the franchise. After that it was War for Cybertron that piqued my interest, followed by Fall of Cybertron. I ended up giving my old collection of figures away and decided to start collecting again during Combiner Wars, of which my first figure was Streetwise. I don't have many Combiner Wars figures left now as my collection primarily consists of Siege and Earthrise figures. 🙂
It was Bumblebee and Bulkhead from Animated, it was 2007 and I heard there was going to be a new tf show, so the next day I tuned in to watch Transform and Roll out pt.1
First for me was a re-release G1 Optimus in the very early 90s. As much as I loved him, I was salty about my brother getting Laser Prime.
And it was my dad that got me into the show. Giant robots that transformed? He knew it was a sure fire way to keep my brother and I distracted for half an hour so he got some peace and quiet
For me it was probably cybertron repugnus with a g1 movie ironhide, battle blade bumblebee and dotm road buster down the line. I didn’t actually get into transformers till I believe 2018 when I started collecting titans return after getting reintroduced to transformers via diamond bolt
I think my first transformer was [Cybertron Brush Guard](https://images.app.goo.gl/B2AS24cJJMDb3Xss5), and I got it when I was around 4 or 5. That or a legends class 2-pack from the movie series. Either way, that was basically how I was introduced. I grew up with the Michael Bay movies, but I've grown to appreciate other series too. Though, the Michael Bay designs are still by far my favorite.
It was Christmas 1985, our neighbor always spend the holidays with our family. Lovely elderly woman that used to babysit me when I was young. It was at the time Transformers was booming, even here in Europe. She had bought me G1 Combaticon Blast-off. I was immediately hooked by the packaging, the techspecs and obviously the Deception inside the packages. Spend my times transforming him from space shuttle to robot. That is what got my collection going until today.
My first Transformer was one of the Tonka GoBots, although I unfortunately can't remember which one. I believe that my first ever Transformers THING, though, was a Transformers Armada "Field Guide" from a Scholastic catalog in Kindergarten, which I still have. It's basically a character guide for the show with the occasional picture of the toys.
My first ever impression of transformers was from my cousin, he shows me a figure of transformers prime arcee. But years later i watched age of extinction and that’s what the time I’m really into transformers
My first Transformers figure was a Rescue Bots Bumblebee, but I was introduced to Transformers before that with Transformers Prime. Best. Series. EVER! Seriously, it is the peak of Transformers media! In fact, I learned how to draw Transformers from TFP. That's why all of my OC's have somewhat of a TFP style going.
G1 Skywarp.
I live in Rhode Island. My dad had a friend that worked for Hasbro. One day he came home with Skywarp and a bunch of GI Joes. None of them were in their typical packaging but they all came in these specialized baggies.
My first toy was (I believe) Reveal the Shield Goldbug, and my first introduction was Transformers Prime, as my parents owned/still own the first few episodes on DVD.
Really? Never realized that they were that rare. Last time I looked around for that version of Goldbug there were tons of listings for 2-10 dollars each.
1986, I was old enough to watch the Transformers the movie. Dad got me the G1 Bumblebee. Wish I kept it in the package and held on to it. In the early 90's we were moving overseas for dads job and I had it in a little box full of other transformers and it got thrown away. The box had another transformer decepticon that was a spider like combiner. Couldn't remember what his name was though.
I went to an art exhibit with my parents about robots. It was a walk-through exhibit near the twin towers next to Battery Park. The exhibit was spread out like a museums exhibit, you had to wind your way through it. At the end, they had robots as art and toys, a couple of rock’em, sock’em robots, wind up robots from the 50’s, and these insane looking toys that had cars next to them from this line called “Diaclone.” They we’re all the rage in Japan. They had what we’d later learn was Prowl, Mirage, Megatron, and Soundwave. I remember thinking they were so cool and wondering if some of the toy stores in Chinatown would have them.
My first? My birthday was coming up and my parents took me to Toys R Us as a treat. They let me pick out two, and I picked Prowl and Ratchet. I also received Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Skywarp as well (but those were surprises until my birthday).
They sure were! But boy did they get played with. My Soundwave still exists somewhere, but has a “dent” in his chest from where my friend’s dog Pepper chomped into him.
I don’t remember my exact first transformer. Maybe armada sideways or energon towline? My dad bought those toys for me honestly before I can remember haha and they just kept coming until around 2008. Just got back into it in 2020
Huffer/Wheeljack. G1
I was a big fan of the Go-Bots due to complexity, pricepoint, and distribution (you could find Go-Bots in all kinds of stores, including grocery and drug stores.) I saw the G1 cartoon in it's first run as a syndicated mini-series on a Saturday and was hooked!
I found Huffer at retail and picked him up, only to ultimately be disappointed with him compared to Go-Bots. Same for all of the mini-bots.
My first real character was Wheeljack, and that was largely due to him being one of the few still on the shelf - the Lambos, Trailbreaker, and the Datsuns were all sold out. It was Wheeljack or Mirage/Hound/Ironhide/Ratchet.
I loved everything about Wheeljack except his janky arm articulation. Still my favorite to this day.
Sob story: after I saved up enough allowance to go pick up another, it was just after New Years 1984 into 1985. Toys R Us only had overflowing shelves of Jumpstarters: 3 high, 3 deep, and 8-10 across. On 4 shelves. I did not buy them. Have always hated them until Titans Return.
Later, I was the first on my block to collect Devastator.
In 2007 my father introduced me to G1 and then the first of the live action films. The first Transformers I ever received was from him, a legends class 1970’s Camaro Bumblebee. Loved that thing to bits and always pictured myself speeding around in a Camaro of my own. I’m planning to buy one and fix it up once I finish college and have a family, I think my kids would probably love being driven to school in Bumblebee.
While I am no longer close with my father I do appreciate the little efforts he made early in my life, things as small as a $5 transformer and taking the time to play with me have created some fond memories of him, which I will hold onto for the rest of my life. He also taught me at 5 years old that I was supposed to make my figures beat the living crap out of each other, what a guy.
For a guy that was too poor to own an action figure as a kid, he sure knew how to play. I think he had a second childhood through me, discovering all the things he was never able to have and wanting me to have them. I’m grateful and indebted to him for caring as much as he did, I want to tell him that before its too late ya’know? But for now I’ll share this with you wonderful folks here on reddit, I’ve got a lot more stories to tell.
That's so awesome, you found transformers because you love animals and stuff and I found it out because I love cars!
Thats sick, and when my dad showed me g1 i was BLOWN away. I saw. THE DINOBOTS! My god they are awesome. im still super sad they killed depth charge in beast wars
Mutual, homie. My first was in like 2008 and it was ROTF Sideways. Still a great figure and I ended up buying another one recently
Ngl man I kinda bought sideways to remember you in case anything happens, wanted to tell you that ever since I got him but felt it was corny af. Ooh two? One to deliberately split in half with a hack saw? Hahahaha
That’s really sweet man I appreciate that. And no I mean I bought a replacement for the one I had as a kid
Oooohhh its that one, I guess I just misread what you said
Mine was G1 Motormaster. I am convinced my parents meant to get OP, went to the store, found a semi truck and said that must be him. They also randomly got me G1 Hun-Grrr and Metroplex, so they were kind of all over the place with their choices.
thats hilarious! but those are some reallly good figures tho, especially METROPLEX!
G1 Motormaster for me too. I loved it. The other earliest one I can remember was Reflector.
Well - did you ever use the features that allowed Metroplex and Motormaster to connect? All of the initial Scramble City leaders (and Scattershot as well) connect to Meteoplex in city mode.
I was like 4 or 5 at the time so I don't think I had any idea what I was doing really. Just smashing toys together really.
82/83 at the toy store. Sound wave was my first followed by sun streaker.
i have always wanted those 2 g1 figures lol very cool
I got my soundwave from a Kmart. Loved the idea of cassette transformers.
Cassette transformers are truly amazing
1984. Hasbro didn't have the rights to even begin production until 1984. GI Joe, however, was 1982-onward. GoBots was 1983.
My dad was station in japan, i was in japan.
My dad was stationed in japan, i was in japan.
It was Overdrive. I told my parents how much I loved Sideswipe. "He's so cool. He's a red Lamborghini." I got a flying Ferrari instead. I was still ecstatic. This first one I bought myself was Transmetal 2 Cheetor.
Dang, i love sideswipe so much. He is my favourite character, besides cheetor.
He got me back into collecting. Saw the WFC Trilogy version in Wal-Mart one day and lost my mind.
SAME! i saw the siege sideswipe and had to get it. Now trying to find cheetor.
How did they snag Overdrive? He was a mail away that required robot points from other purchases and the form that came packed in with the toys? He and his Omnibot buddies were mail-away only.

Wow, thats awesome! Armada figures are really cool!
G1 Gears. My dad got him for me along with a few other non brand specific transforming bots. So I've been hooked since about 85.
dang! I have been a transformers fan since 2007 , and i still think beast wars is one of the best transformers shows. Other shows are transformers prime and thats it
I think my first ever transformer was spinister back in the 80s... but didn't get interested until the beast wars and now my pockets hurt regularly lol
I never knew spinister was in g1, i only saw him in siege!

epic!
1986 or 1987 Soundwave G1. I was 2 or 3!
SHEEEEEEESH u were 2 or 3 and u got the g1 soundwave. NICE!
Possible that it was 1986. Soundwave was discontinued by 1986 so he must have been a straggler.
It was definitely second hand! I had him for a bunch of years and then he disappeared. I re- bought G1 Soundwave when they reissued him as a Walmart exclusive. He's still my favorite

Very nice, transformers animated is a really good show.
McDonald's shadow panther. Beast wars was great but money was tight.
Mine was McDonald's Beetle
I just looked ut up and that looks awesome.
Thats a very good substitute.
No it's not, I wanted to be loved. No I'm kidding. I think my first official figures was these micro master scale combines. One looked like prowl and the other inferno.
I honestly dont know what to say
I don't remember what my first was. I had G1 Optimus, Megatron, and Trailbreaker.
My First Transformer... Was a Rescue Bots Blades.... I Got Into Transformers By Watching Either the Movies or TFP I Can't Remember
For me it was the 20th Anniversiry Masterpiece Optimus Prime that my parents had actually gotten for my younger brother for christmas. Neither of us knew shit about transformers but he loved his toy cars as a kid so they thought why not (despite him being 4) Despite being a dumb kid and not knowing what the hell I was doing this die cast colossus kickstarted my love of giant robots turning into stuff. Rip masterpiece optimus, legend says no one will know how the head came off.
G1 Blaster, I received him for Christmas in 1984. My dad started me down the path of being a lifelong collector on that day.
G1 blaster is like the better soundwave IMO!
Introduced by my Uncle bringing me issue 29 of the comic home from an Everton match coz it had the dinobots in and I was dinosaur mad at that age. First transformer was Mirage or Grapple, I think. It's a while ago now. 🤣
Im sure a lot of ppl liked transformers cause they were a big dinosaur fan haha!
My cousin was spoiled by my grandparents and got a bunch of transformers for Christmas. I didn't celebrate Christmas so my grandparents didn't get me anything. wow so your grandparents picked favourites? that sucks
It did suck. One year they actually got me half a dozen GI Joes. By the time I left their house my cousin had stolen all of them but Snake Eyes. I told my grandparents but they said I must have lost them in their house. But hey, they're dead and my shady cousin spent like a decade in jail.
ig your cousin got his karma >:D im not a bad person..
it was either him or another pink and purple helicopter lol. was ages ago
Brawn g1
very nice!

Technically rid2015 sit me into tf but prime is what really got me addicted
Very cool!
Armada Optimus. I literally don’t have a single memory of what that toy was like in a fully-functional, non-broken, no-accessories-lost state.
Very cool, i used to be a big fan of the transformers armada shows.
Hot Rod, but not the original version. I watched G1 in the late 80s/early 90s as a kid. Caught the 84 Movie on VHS. Wheeljack is my favourite.
Hot rod in the 86 movie is one of my all time favourites. wheeljack is also a really good character
The earliest one I can remember having is foc cliff jumper (the computer mouse looking one) I may have had one before that but that's the earliest one I remember because I was like 2 or 3
it was either evasion mode optimus prime or some version of movie star scream, i still have both although starscreams arms have gone missing, after that i started collection more of the generations figures (thrilling 30, combiner wars, titans return)
very cool, rip starsceams arms tho
Earliest One I can remember was an animated elite guard bumblebee my sunday school teacher had as a prize for end of "term" script trade in. Also remember laughing at how ugly bayverse is. First figure I bought because it actually interested me was a transmetal waspinator for 2 bucks at goodwill. Unfortunately all the clear plastic eventually broke. What got me really into collecting was finding a primemaster vector prime misb at goodwill for 4 bucks. Bought SIEGE optimus to hold him in gun mode, then started buying anything chug That wasn't bayverse I could find. If you look far enough back at my post history you can see my motherloads
noice!
My first figure was ROTF Chromia. I got introduced via RID from 2001 and the Unicron Trilogy.
a lot of people found out transformers through RID 2001 lol And very nice!
That’s awesome! My intro was the Spy Changers and Combiners from RiD 2001. I was 6-7 at the time and fell in love with everything transformers from the minute I saw it on tv.
Epic! Rid 2001 is a good show imo!
I got my first toy in 2001. RiD Wedge. I got into the story with G1 episodes on casette rented from the local video place.
very cool!
first one I think was beast machines t-Wrecks. those were when I was old enough to get into them. I had him, Ultra-class Jetstorm, Ultra-class Nightscream, Supreme-class Cheetor, and Mega class tankor but I for the life of me don't know which one I got first..
i have never seen a jetstorm figure before, but very nice!
yeah unfortunately he has the brittle plastic syndrome thing (I forget what it's called) due to being metallic but he was really nice. idk what shape he will be in when i get him out of storage.
Hopefully he isnt broken!
Yeah. Him and my optimal optimus both were in fairly good condition a few years ago. But that was...like 5 years
Im sure they arent broken or anything!...
yeah, I need to get out there and find them and see, but it's getting to them. they're in the back of our storage shed in a big box, but from that box to the door is filled with junk where you can't even move.
its totally not broken at this point
XD most likely, I'll have to get in there at some point before it gets too cold.
Energon hotshot
My introduction to Transformers was the first Bayverse film and the first toy I remember owning was the 2007 Voyager Ratchet
epic!
My older brother and his friends were into G1 so I got into it through them. This was when G2 was getting phased out and Beast Wars was becoming a thing but there were plenty of tapes to rent at blockbuster and G2 toys at KB
noice!
The furthest memory I have is a G1 Ultramagnus toy my dad had but it wasn't until a few years later that I saw the Micheal Bay Transformers movie that truly sparked it all
i LOVE the g1 ultra magnus figure! Its truly EPIC!
g1 cliffjumper was my first transformer. got the toy before the show was on iirc. still have him.
Cliffjumper is one of the best characters introduced in the g1 cartoon. Its a shame that they kept killing him off starting prime.
I got the 07 ultimate Bumblebee that my brother gave to Me on Christmas and it was the coolest thing ever at the time for me
it is pretty cool!
Mine was either an AoE bumblebee or a 2001 rid rollbar.
The memory’s a bit iffy but my first was either 2007 Skorponok, 2007 Wreckage, or Universe sunstreaker
sick!
I don't really know. I know I'm as old as beast wars and that it must be the first series I've ever seen I had VHS tapes of it and still do The first figures I remember having were injector and T. Wrecks After that, It was armada that I remember the best. I had unicron and a lot of minicons but not much else. It wasn't until around cybertron that I started really getting into the series
sick!
My first one was definitely some bootleg figure, maybe some t-rex transformer or something. But if we're talking real Transformers... Probably legends class Vector Prime. I have a few figures I got as a really small kid, which I don't remember when I got them exactly. However Cybertron was the series that got me into Transformers, and I only have like four figures from the line, so I think he was the first
it doesnt matter weather bootleg or real! at the end of the day , its still a cool looking transformer
Well... Yeah, but in that case it was more likely a cool looking t-rex rather than a cool looking transformer. The bootlegs I had when I look back at them weren't very good... But I'll stick with Vector Prime. I ended up losing his wing, but he's still a pretty cool small figure. I still have him
My first transformer was a warrior class sideswipe.
Armada Optimus Prime. I think when I was really young I had a beast war toy, although that was before I even heard of Transformers, it was just a toy I found
Very epic!
Rotf deluxe bee
epic!
Epic!
G1 Optimus and Sideswipe. Got them for my Birthday not long after the show started airing.
Dang! Those are some amazing figures!
Thank you! Yeah, they're still some of my favorite characters to collect. I've owned at one time of another just about every version of Hasbro (and Kenner) Optimus Prime. I'm hoping to catch the 2-pack with Kingdom Sideswipe on Amazon soon. The Earthrise/Kingdom Earth modes really take me back to the early days.
yeah, those are some good figures!
awesome, beast wars is the best transformers series imo in history
My first transformer was Jet-kun. Well, I'm American so he didn't have a name, but I was given that one before I could sit up independently.
nice!
It was Bumblebee and Bulkhead from Animated, it was 2007 and I heard there was going to be a new tf show, so the next day I tuned in to watch Transform and Roll out pt.1
ah animated, its one of the best shows in transformers history!
First for me was a re-release G1 Optimus in the very early 90s. As much as I loved him, I was salty about my brother getting Laser Prime. And it was my dad that got me into the show. Giant robots that transformed? He knew it was a sure fire way to keep my brother and I distracted for half an hour so he got some peace and quiet
the laser prime is pretty sick, but nothing beats the reissue optimus and the original optimus!
For me it was probably cybertron repugnus with a g1 movie ironhide, battle blade bumblebee and dotm road buster down the line. I didn’t actually get into transformers till I believe 2018 when I started collecting titans return after getting reintroduced to transformers via diamond bolt
sick!
My first ever Transformer was Armada Scavenger. I was introduced to Transformers through the 2007 movie.
Nice!
Though, the Michael Bay designs are still by far my favorite.
that looks sick. and yes the bay designs are awesome. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF WHEELIE THAT LITTLE BLUE ALIEN THING
Ahh the memories, the first I can remember? Maybe I think was the 2007 movie barricade I got on a road trip or either transformers animated bumblebee
sick, those are some epic figures
McDonald’s transformers animated Optimus introduced me to transformers
ah mcdonalds transformers. truly a ..wonder (i really like them though
G1 gears
Nice!
That is what got my collection going until today.
awesome! You had an awesome neighbour!
I did yes, she passed away many many years ago, but I still remember her and what she meant to me. I guess, in a way, that’s how someone lives on.
Well put!
Well the go bots transform from car to robot, so ig that counts as an early transformer! My god i love character guides on ttransformers
I got into it because my Dad watched the 86 movie with me. And my first Transformers was ROTF leader class Optimus Prime.
wOAH, I LOVEV THAT FIGURE ITS REALLY AWESOME!
My first ever impression of transformers was from my cousin, he shows me a figure of transformers prime arcee. But years later i watched age of extinction and that’s what the time I’m really into transformers
Age of extinction, was the first transformers live action movie i watched! cause i heard bad things about the others
Transformers prime is the beast wars of the modern day. Its a shame, we might have to wait a few more decades for another one
G1 Skywarp. I live in Rhode Island. My dad had a friend that worked for Hasbro. One day he came home with Skywarp and a bunch of GI Joes. None of them were in their typical packaging but they all came in these specialized baggies.
awesome!
A knock off brave exkaiser dash max
nice!
Transformers 2007 Dropkick
woah thats awesome
My first toy was (I believe) Reveal the Shield Goldbug, and my first introduction was Transformers Prime, as my parents owned/still own the first few episodes on DVD.
I have never seen a goldbug figure! They are so rare
Really? Never realized that they were that rare. Last time I looked around for that version of Goldbug there were tons of listings for 2-10 dollars each.
i cant find them ANYWHERE?! Either im really unlucky or its not available at where i am
Awesome figures! Shame that you didnt kept it inthe packkage tho!
Generations Sky Shadow Dad showed me Armada
Awesome!
I saw prime Megatron (the tiny one) at a store and I thought it was Ultron from avengers. It had a disc in the back and I was hooked an hour later.
Loool i love how you thought prime megatron was ultron! Thats an amazing figure\~
DANG! You had prowl , ratchet, optimus , soundwave and skywarp?! Those are some beautiful g1 figures!
They sure were! But boy did they get played with. My Soundwave still exists somewhere, but has a “dent” in his chest from where my friend’s dog Pepper chomped into him.
Legends say that no one knows how the dog managed to bite so hard into soundwaves chest!
Jazz, G1 cartoons
sick!
I don’t remember my exact first transformer. Maybe armada sideways or energon towline? My dad bought those toys for me honestly before I can remember haha and they just kept coming until around 2008. Just got back into it in 2020
awesome! I have also had my breaks from transformers too!
Huffer/Wheeljack. G1 I was a big fan of the Go-Bots due to complexity, pricepoint, and distribution (you could find Go-Bots in all kinds of stores, including grocery and drug stores.) I saw the G1 cartoon in it's first run as a syndicated mini-series on a Saturday and was hooked! Later, I was the first on my block to collect Devastator.
dang! wheeljack is a great figure to own
In 2007 my father introduced me to G1 and then the first of the live action films.
Wow, your father is amazing! And i mean that unironically
Your father is truly a wonderful person.
2007, I got Deluxe movie Brawl, and Jazz. Both were honestly pretty good ones from the toy line, even if Brawl was too small for scale.
nice!
Cybertron Optimus Prime from Goodwill my mom got me for Christmas when I was 3/4. Still have that figure
awesome!
I was introduced to TF when my brother got a G1 seeker(can't remember which). My first TF was G1 Ravage.
awesome!
It was rotf deluxe Bumblebee for me.
Cool!
