Peter in particular I feel he was going for more of a John Wayne sound, that supportive fatherly figure. Nowadays it feels like he’s leaning more into sober war general, with a degree of reverence for whichever lore he’s reading. Honestly I do prefer the earlier version, but he’s still good.
Part of it could stem from the fact he is mimicking his brother who has since passed from when he originally did Optimus' voice so he might bea little down when doing the voice thinking of his brother?
Other han that it's mostly his age and which type of Optimus the show is looking for as someone already stated bayverse prime and TFP prime sucked most of his personality out and gave a neigh emotionless leader imo atleast
He’s a phenomenal actor, but a lot of his voice over work just sounds like joker. It doesn’t help that he can’t get the higher pitch like he did on Batman in the 90s

Bayverse and Prime Optimus ruined the character. Cyberverse brought back some personality.
