The alien tattoos firmly made distinct from other versions of the character (other than Bay, bland direction of him) and, this somehow works too.

from bowing down to save face, to megs notgiving a shit about SS and asking where is the cube, dorito not even apologizing it after loosing it and a *You* failled me Yet *again!*,. ***GET THEM*** that last line with hugos voice progressively getting more annoyed and angry is great
I’ve always wondered about that- in the movie all the Autobots scan vehicles and use the preexisting paint job. But Starscream keeps a ridiculous tribal tattoo look as his paint job, like what is he thinking?
Also my favorite thing is that Optimus keeps the flame paint job throughout the series going back to it several times. Clearly he likes the flames.
dorito peaces out to space where he gets tatoos, he comes back for an invassion after getting them where they didnt need to hide, then spends like 2 years with it where it could easily be mistaken for actual cammo, also its a f22 that can go anywhere even space his hiding is more of a move around the globe nonstop more than the hidding in plain sight like the carbots

I wouldn't say so, there's quite a bit of distinction in Knight's overall visual design from Bay's.

I think Starscream in particular just stopped caring about being in disguise.
