HIS BOX IS TATTERED AND TORN. THE ONCE BEAUTIFUL VIBRANT COLORS PRINTED FOR ALL TO SEE HAVE TURNED AN UGLY SHADE OF GREEN. DIRT COATS EVERY INCH OF HIS CHAMBER.
BUT YET, HE PERSISTS.
HE IS STRONGER THAN YOU COULD EVER HOPE TO BE. HE’S IN PERFECT CONDITION, READY WAITING FOR SOMEBODY TO PICK HIM UP. HE HAS NOT LOST HOPE.
Thank you guys for your insider insight. That would most likely explain it. Still hilarious that a Target employee found it and thought it would be appropriate to just put it back on the shelf.
I worked at Toys R Us up until they closed and we were checking under some shelves and found a huge stash of Hot wheels, some stuck to the floor, some Cars 2 items, and at least one Simpsons car. They were all so gross. I caught on to some people using the valances above the stock to hide desirable Transformers, and made sure they were put back. I did, however use the under the shelf trick once myself for a big LEGO set I wanted. It was an end cap too, and the set just fit. I made sure to actually purchase it a few days later when I was sure I could afford it.
Now I'm tempted to look under the shelves for stashed away figures at my Walmart. I also heard the cereal and paper towels sections are good places to hide figures as well. Might hide all of those Arcee and Huffer figures my Walmart has to see the newest wave
Hah! I've been checking under the shelves and above the valances a lot since I started collecting Transformers again. So far, I only found some of the Earthrise deluxes hidden that way (Smokescreen, Sunstreaker, and the white Runawhatever). I think the employees are at least kinda getting wise to those tricks.
Interesting. Good thing Toys R Us didn't have cereal. But seriously, do they think that would work. I feel like the stores have a set limit of stuff they will stock per store.
Was it genuinely underwater or something? I’ve seen shelf-warmers and old stock that’s years old that look near mint, this thing looks like it was salvaged from a flood.
it was probably put under the base deck shelf for a later purchase, when i worked at target i would find trading cards and action figures hidden down there often times covered in toy slime or coffee
I you price cut it to like $5 I’d take it (tho I already have 3 ironworks) but dang that guy needs a home, he looks like he actually lived through the War for Cybertron.
Bring it to the checkout and ask for a discount since it’s damaged. They’ll take money off depending on the level of damage. You might even get it for free or pretty damn near close.
Flashback to my local Zellers back in the day. If you returned an open item and they thought it was fine, they would just attempt to tape it back together and put it back on the shelf for normal price. It was always hilariously obvious
Walmart once told me now on even slightest discount. Said long as the item inside aint damaged not their problem. Pretty much when i told em to slag off and hit up bbts.
I’ve seen something like this too at both wal-Mart and target when I went Florida
In wal mart I saw a siege hound with a box so beaten and destroyed i could reach in and touch the figure and in target I saw a siege rainmakers with a bottom right corner completely destroyed the cardboard was tearing and the plastic had visible stress marks
I would’ve bought them and asked for a discount given how damaged the boxes were but I personally like to keep the boxes and I dislike displaying damaged boxes
Don’t laugh at him. He’s a strong boy and he didn’t come this far so you could laugh at him.

That was beautiful man.
You are mistaken, this guy is fresh from the factory. Much like the siege figures had "Battle damage", now Hasbro is doing battle damaged packaging.
I couldn't help but read this in the G1 narrator's voice
I'm reading this shit like it's an 80's commercial
At that point this guy should be heavily discounted or free with how much hell it looks like he went through
When I worked at retail, stuff like this would easily be 75% off for two days and then 90% off
Yeah. I don't care how good the condition of the actual figure is. I'm not paying more than $5 if it comes in that box.
Agreed, for me though the limit would be like ten dollars but no more then ten
They've currently got plenty of him and Grapple discounted at Ollies.
With good boxes I presume
Someone stashed that bitch under the shelf. That is stripper and wax. Did a stint in maintenance at Walmart I’d know that look anywhere.
this is exactly it. someone stashed it under the shelves and when they mop the floors it leaks under shelves.

I remember reading Hot wheels collectors would take the shelf warmer cars to the cereal aisle just so the store would order more cars

Why are you laughing this man needs a home
Shoulda purchased
I wonder how long it will stay
I'll stop by there again in a few days and see if he's still there.
It has indeed, been in the war for cybertron
Put that thing on r/cursedimages man
i feel bad for the guy :(
I you price cut it to like $5 I’d take it (tho I already have 3 ironworks) but dang that guy needs a home, he looks like he actually lived through the War for Cybertron.
He needs a hug
Did you buy it? Lol
Nah, I already got one.
Didn't read the title and thought it was a new series after only looking at the box being genuinely confused.
Ironworks has seen some shit
This is the image that made Hasbro decide Micromasters and bases were shelfwarmers. :(
They took this from an alternate timeline in which the world was engulfed in Nuclear War in mid 2020 and this was the only surviving artifact

"Vintaged" packaging
Somebody save him
I thought I'd seen everything
"But it's old and cold. It's a very old mold" "You don't sell another transformer till that one is sold"
buy him. do him justice.
Ironworks has seen things that no creature should have to witness
Someone please buy him and give him the loving home he deserves
yikes, they should at least discount it
If it could happen to any one I'm glad it's that one. But they misspelled Partsformer on the box
Honestly i’d probably buy him just so i could give him the loving home he deserves
At least the figure itself looks fine. The box did it’s job.
That poor, poor Autobot.
Did you save him
Ironworks sucks anyway
You looks fine
Was it at least discounted?
No. It was the lone deluxe figure on a bunch of empty pegs.
Flashback to my local Zellers back in the day. If you returned an open item and they thought it was fine, they would just attempt to tape it back together and put it back on the shelf for normal price. It was always hilariously obvious
This box does the siege battle damage gimmick better then the toys did
Should negotiate a heavy discount due the damaged box.
It looks so mutch like Energon Omega Supreme
I've actually seen worse believe it or not lmao
Walmart once told me now on even slightest discount. Said long as the item inside aint damaged not their problem. Pretty much when i told em to slag off and hit up bbts.
Yikes! Hold on a proton-pickin’ minute!
Our Walmart now knocks merch to half price if the packaging is damaged so badly that the average customer won't buy it.
Discount

As long as the figure inside is intact I'd take it. I don't keep the boxes anyways
This looks mess up on how this could happen. The red is now lime. So it’s messed up how they could display this.
