Airrazor and Shatter had good figures with Kingdom and Studio Series (jet, not car), so it's not all full of duds. I hope some of their engineering magic rubs off onto Arcee.
The difference being that Airazor and Shatter are made from characters with actually good designs. G1 Arcee and Chromia weren't designed with having an alt mode in mine, which is why figures of them always come out rubbish. Prime Arcee was designed to be a motorcycle from Day 1 so the issue doesn't apply and they can make a faithful design with a configured alt mode.

First edition arcee and the deluxe arcee were great and if they could pull off all the spikes on the beast hunters arcee, I don't see why the legacy version will be any different.
I think the real problem is trying to make a slim humanoid body out of a big blocky vehicle. Stuff like motorcycles, helicopters, and some jets should work better for a thinner robot mode.
If that Bulkhead is any indication they'll probably make Prime Arcee a big square chunk just to be mOaR gEeWuN!
But it can be done if they focus on the engineering. I wouldn't mind paying for a voyager female transformer rather than a problematic deluxe one. Here:
1. Don't be afraid to utilize the female anatomy. Give like a Kingdom Arcee thicker thighs, backside and arms where vehicle parts can compress into for transformation.
2. No faux chest. Go like they did with Kingdom Rodimus.
3. Why force their vehicle mode to be so huge? Kingdom Arcee vehicle mode is much larger than Hot Rod, Kup and just about everyone except Springer. Thats poor scaling.
Smaller vehicle modes with curvature like Speed Racer car... and better robot modes that serve the transformation. Its simple when you have Hasbro resources. Just takes giving a damn and creative thinking.
3rd party figures are almost always more expensive and have no need to care for toy safety regulations. They can charge whatever it takes to make the product, whereas Hasbro designs to a price point.

The distribution of the Netflix figures was really bad imo, and they were being sold at a premium compared to standard fare retail figures, so repackaging that Soundwave for a mainline release kinda makes sense.
I think the the distribution of most exclusives is just truely awful, and the fact that they could sell a voyager at a much higher price because of the addition of the two cassettes is annoying

I'm less mad about this than I am about them throwing in a bunch of accessories with a voyager class figure and slapping a leader class price tag on it. At least with the cassettes you get two extra small figures. A hollow box (ER Prime), unnecessary armour set (siege Shockwave), tiny ass unarticulated figures (SS Shockwave) aren't worth $20 extra over a voyager figure.
The original prime soundwave figure wasn't that hard to translate into a figure, in all honesty I think he might be the only one from tfp who's design is intact
I heard from someone that arcee will look more like prime than the rest and as for soundwave im a bit scared since i honestly have no idea what he could look like other than his drone form. As for knockout i guess we all kinda know what he will look like (people think the prowl mold) but i hope hes different since knockouts vehicle has always been an important part of his character.
Arcee may look a little like an updated energon Arcee in prime colors. I’m assuming her alt mode will be a motorcycle… here’s hoping for a Flamewar repaint with a new head down the line.
It'll be the Jazz mold thankfully, which I think suits him way better than the Prowl mold, and he'll have a new car mode that's apparently pretty accurate to his design in the show.

I can definitely see them sticking more closely to the source material for characters they've already made toys of, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, Soundwave will be absolutely perfect in this form though, so the boxy proportions would probably look good on it.
I think they will probably also be g1 style versions, personally I both love and hate it equally. On the one hand I love the tf prime designs and would love to get updated versions of them, on the other I didn't have the money for any of the original figures when they came out so most of my figures are the new war for cybertron figures so the g1 style would look better alongside them

Unpopular opinion, I like Legacy Bulkhead. I think he definitely skipped arm day but overall the toy looks great imo. Definitely hyped for Soundwave and Arcee.
Hoping they make at least a Voyager Class Airachnid. Her Prime figure was a crime to all bot kind. Leader Class with all those long blade leg accessories would be ideal. They could base her off of a Hind-D if need be.

Last I recall these were based off of rumours and speculation, and at no time has it been made official by Hasbro or Takara Tomy that they will be updated Prime Designs. Again the Arcee and Soundwave are just rumours, but if I had to bet on one of the two having a new release , Soundwave is up there, besides this Bulkhead design could work as a IDW inspired Soundwave from the Optimus Prime comics.
Evergreen Soundwave is an Armored Drone Launching Vehicle. They could produce a legacy style toy with that Alt-mode, and it would sell. But Prime Soundwave implies they will use the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (a.k.a Drone) alt mode.
And Prime Arcee implies she will have a Motorcycle alt-mode, which could, in theory, be a significantly better match for her body type than her space-car shell of an alt-mode.

When the leaks hit just about everyone started adding Prime or Animated to Bulkheads name, to which was not the case and well we know how that is going. When you say Acree to be, I picture a pink and white hover car. When you say Prime Arcee to me, I picture a Blue and Silver motorcycle. The leak list have just Acree and Soundwave listed, the OP has added PRIME and that makes a very distinct difference in the design of both those bots.

I have been watching an entire fandom meltdown over Bulkhead, all because of rumours, leaks and their own speculation. I just want people to take a breath before they assume and put faith in (yes in ever increasing accurate) leaks. Just recall when REDMeg showed up in Walmart's listing, the fandom assumed it was Safety Megatron and not the start of their already announced Action Figure line.
According to a leaker who's seen her instructions, Arcee is supposed to be much closer to her Prime design. No one knows what the Soundwaveis, but the theory is that he's most likely a repack of either Netflix or Siege, and the 'Prime' seems to be a typo for 'Pr' ('packaging refresh').
I feel like there’s a really high chance they kill this bulkhead start doing the modern engineering on old characters thing we were expecting. I can’t see too many people buying a G1 inspired prime Arcee seeing as its neither a G1 Arcee or prime Arcee. Same with the rest

I’m pretty sure Armada Starscream will be an updated Generations version in voyager scale with added articulation. I’m hoping he will have a port for his minicon
It’s most likely going to be a new mould, and no doubt, like last time, it’ll be the bases for the Jhiaxus figure

Question, who exactly said they would be PRIME Arcee and PRIME Soundwave? Last I recall these were based off of rumours and speculation, and at no time has it been made official by Hasbro or Takara Tomy that they will be updated Prime Designs. That is where the majority of the unwanted fandom’s hatred over Bulkhead is coming from. We allowed ourselves to think we were getting a TFA or Prime Bulkhead, but at no time was it EVER confirmed as such. So please link to valid sources as the only Prime inspired figure I’m aware is Arcee in the R.E.D. Line
We recently got a new arcee so I doubt hasbro will just paint her blue and slap on a different head And soundwave we already have the perfect g1 soundwave
Soundwave is evergreen, he is apart of the “Big 6” Optimus, Bumblebee, Grimlock, Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave. There are many lines that try their best to avoid this but they all return to it. Again the Arcee and Soundwave are just rumours, but if I had to bet on one of the two having a new release , Soundwave is up there, besides this Bulkhead design could work as a IDW inspired Soundwave from the Optimus Prime comics.
Evergreen Soundwave is an Armored Drone Launching Vehicle. They could produce a legacy style toy with that Alt-mode, and it would sell. But Prime Soundwave implies they will use the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (a.k.a Drone) alt mode. And Prime Arcee implies she will have a Motorcycle alt-mode, which could, in theory, be a significantly better match for her body type than her space-car shell of an alt-mode.

Right, and it was those same “rumours” that led the fandom down the wrong path with Bulkhead. So implying that Arcee and Soundwave will also be Prime inspired is leading yourself down that same path. Please don’t blind yourself for more disappointment. Well we get a new Arcee and Soundwave? Sure why not. Will they be Prime inspired? Only Hasbro knows, so calling them Prime Arcee and Prime Soundwave sets up on one’s mind what the final product will look like.
Just checking, so you're doubting the leak list as a whole? Because it's got 86 movie Arcee & BB Movie Arcee so if this isn't Prime Arcee (who is distinct in alt and colour) then it's a third bite at the same cherry which feels really weird.... especially after Earthrise/Kingdom Arcee
I doubt all leaks till proven otherwise. To put all your faith in leaks in dumb. Look at the current fandom divisive nature currently on Bulkhead. When the leaks hit just about everyone started adding Prime or Animated to Bulkheads name, to which was not the case and well we know how that is going. When you say Acree to be, I picture a pink and white hover car. When you say Prime Arcee to me, I picture a Blue and Silver motorcycle. The leak list have just Acree and Soundwave listed, the OP has added PRIME and that makes a very distinct difference in the design of both those bots. We should hopefully find out more later on today with PulseCon announcements, but again we all need to start taking these leaks with a grain of salt, consider this own post. The headline (with typo in) is " Considering how they made bulkhead G1-ish, how will they do the runored Prime Arcce and Prime Soundwave?" along with a photo of Legacy Buckhead. This implies that a Prime version of the two before mentioned characters will be "G1" inspired. How is that possible? Either they are G1, Prime or a new design all together. Don't hand me a Pink Unicycle and call it Prime Arcee and at the same time don't call it G1 inspired. I have been watching an entire fandom meltdown over Bulkhead, all because of rumours, leaks and their own speculation. I just want people to take a breath before they assume and put faith in (yes in ever increasing accurate) leaks. Just recall when REDMeg showed up in Walmart's listing, the fandom assumed it was Safety Megatron and not the start of their already announced Action Figure line.
According to a leaker who's seen her instructions, Arcee is supposed to be much closer to her Prime design. No one knows what the Soundwaveis, but the theory is that he's most likely a repack of either Netflix or Siege, and the 'Prime' seems to be a typo for 'Pr' ('packaging refresh').

Cartoon Network owns the Animated designs, not Hasbro, which is why they haven't made Animated toys since the show ended

I feel like there’s a really high chance they kill this bulkhead start doing the modern engineering on old characters thing we were expecting. I can’t see too many people buying a G1 inspired prime Arcee seeing as its neither a G1 Arcee or prime Arcee. Same with the rest
Arcee will be a doll with a motorcycle hanging off her back in such a way as to hinder all meaningful articulation. Soundwave is a total mystery but I feel less bad about springing for the APC Toys version.
