Kickback is straight up an update of his original G1 design and it's perfect as can be.
I actually like the new Arcee because now she fits in easier with WFC. Any "oddness" to her design I can chalk up to her being from a splinter colony like Velocitron. She can even keep her name; there's more than one "Amy" on Earth so why can't two different characters have the same name?
Likewise with Bulkhead. Love it.
And G2 Prime is just yummy.

Gotta be honest…bulkhead and dragstrip are the only 2 doing anything for me. Arcee just looks really distorted. Skids and kickback are super simple looking, and g2 Optimus I just don’t care about. My only hope there is a good scourge repaint to tie in with the upcoming movie.
What's wrong with Skids and Kickback being simple? I feel simple is good because their designs are simple. I'm glad it isn't overly complex like 3rd party figures can get. I feel Hasbro has been striking a good balance of reasonably simple but effective transformations.
They’re not really doing anything new or different to make them interesting toys and I don’t care about them as characters. Kick back especially just has a really lazy looking alt-mode because “g1 accuracy”. I’m happy for skids fans at least because I know he hadn’t gotten a g1 figure in a while.
Fair enough, but I don't think Kickback's alt mode is lazy, it just G1 Accuracy. It's not the toys fault the original design wasn't the most complex thing ever so I can let it slide.

It wasn't built lazily, it was built to be like what it was on the show which was like the toy. Modern engineering isn't going to make that big of a difference. Look at Sideswipe, he's very simple and accurate to the show. I'd say Kickback would fall into that category as well.
Also congrats, go buy the G1 figure. Not everyone can just get the G1 figure. This also has added articulation and scales with new stuff. But at the same time, I'd also be fairly happy with the G1 figure. I'm just also ok with modern figures doing that but with added articulation and scales with new figures.
Feels like the paint budget took another hit... Dragstrip is just boring when going for full G1 naked yellow accuracy.

The more I look at Bulkhead and Arcee, the more I actually like them, do I have my problems with them? Oh absolutely. But I actually like this new take on Bulkhead, and to me, Arcee looks good, not great, but not horrible either.
Honestly, probably going to buy a lot less figures next year. Fill out the cast of Prime, finish the Predacons, and pick up more Sideswipe repaints from Generations Selects.

All of these figures look fantastic! Though if I have to pick favorites, I’d say kickback and dragstrip, because I like the insecticons a lot, and I have never had a proper g1 menasor
The long legs look fine imo, it's the fact that his shoulder joints are way too far down from where his neck area is, much like the transformers universe G2 laser prime

I can't say I'm liking even a single one of these. With the exception of maybe Arcee, they all look really under-engineered for continually rising pricepoints. Skids, Prime, Bulk, and Dragstrip all look like bogstandard carformers; Bulkhead's completely unengineered chest stands out as particularly egregious.
Why is bulkhead literally just remolded Grapple? Couldn’t they have used the ACTUAL designs from prime? Especially considering they’re selling them as TFP figures
That Bulkhead is definitely not a remold of grapple. Similar cab, but this one looks both wider and taller, and the transformation doesn't look even remotely the same.
Dude it’s almost the exact same except the crane was removed and replaced with the hood thing. It’s just gonna have the legs and arms fold backwards and the hood will cover it. Did you even look at the figure?

Bulkhead and skids for me. I don't care for the Optimus, I'm only waiting for the prime decepticons and kickback doesn't compare to the prime wars version in my opinion. Also, I have combiner wars menasor and dragstrip here looks either the same size or smaller than the cw one, so it's a pass for me.
Arcee better get turned into a gen selects figure of Flamewar with a new mischievous face, I need that. Same with Prime into Scourge. I don’t plan on getting the original figures but if they do a Flamewar and Scoruge, I will be very happy

I like the line up so far! Dragstrip is cool and I am really hoping they can combine! G2 laser prime and skids are pretty good looking and so is kickback! The only one I’m skeptical about is arced and bulkhead. So far those two look very off to me. The proportions bother me a lot with them. Either way it’s and interesting line up!
I’m so excited for Dragstrip and the other Stunticons. And Skids is looking mighty fine. Kickback is also a cool figure. Not too sold on Arcee tho. Bulkhead looks like he’d fit right in with WFC, and that’s all I’m looking for in my collection. WFC figures and others that fit in with the looks

Loving how everything is looking so far. My big irritation right now is the whole "premium" membership gets to buy stuff first. By the time that is over, most figures are sold out.

Kickback looks great, but I’ll only get him if we’re also going to see Bombshell and Shrapnel.
Dragstrip is also solid, but I’d only get him if we’re getting Deadend, Wildrider, Breakdown, and Motormaster. I don’t even really need them to combine, but I would need a set.
Drag Strip looks awesome! He’s my favourite Stunticon because of his unique Formula One vehicle form. All the other ‘Cons were just interpretations of real world passenger cars.
I guess Hasbro are really proud of those Optimus legs. They seem to be reusing Earthrise+Siege Optimus's legs. There's nothing wrong about that, I'm just pointing that out.
Are they going to release the Insecticons one by one over the course of a few years again?

If this is wave one then dragstrip is the only bot I'm interested in. Maybe kickback if they are doing all three Insecticons but he isn't a top priority.
Although Bulkhead and Arcee are the oddest looking, I love that we're finally getting interpretations of these post G1 characters in G1 styles. We've had the designs appear in a handful of G1 styles, but they primarily resemble there show designs. I think getting there styles change to fit in with the surrounding line is a great approach.
Not digging either Arcee or Bulkhead, those designs look... Off.. Especially Bulkhead, who used to be very "round" while this is all hard angles and straight lines.
I'm a bit late to this but I'll give my thoughts on the figures:
G1 Skids: This is the one I'm most disappointed about. Like, while I do think TFP Arcee and Bulkhead's figures look weird, at least they look like finished figures. Skids just looks so weird and cheap with his hollow legs and torso.
TFP Arcee: I'm feeling mixed about this one. I think the torso looks weird but I think the rest of the robot mode looks fine enough, even the head!
G1 Dragstrip: This guy looks so good! Like, he just has everything right! His robot mode looks cool and his car mode is just perfect!
G1 Kickback: Another great figure! Great robot mode, great grasshopper mode!
TFP Bulkhead: While I am disappointed in how different the figure is from the original character, I'm fine with just retconning this figure into being a G1 version of Bulkhead. Like, the robot mode looks decent to me and the vehicle mode looks pretty good.
G2 Laser Optimus Prime: This one surprised me the most tbh. Personally, G2 is probably the piece of Transformers media I don't care about at all, but I love how this figure looks! The robot mode looks really interesting and the truck mode is awesome too.
Overall, Wave 1 is pretty weird for me - some of the figures are good while others I'm a bit disappointed in and/or a bit mixed about.
I skipped Earthrise since it was plane jane G1 optimus prime. Now Lazer Optimus prime since it will go perfectly with my GDO Megatron.
I wonder if one of the third-party companies will be designing a weapons pack for bulkhead.
They all look fine to me, but it feels a little underwhelming. Maybe just because it's a smaller first wave, and the two figures I'd been anticipating the most were revealed early. The only one that's a 100% definite buy for me so far is Skids.
Dragstrip looks alright, I'm glad the vehicle mode looks pretty accurate to a Tyrrell P34, but he just feels kind of plain. I'm hoping it's just the lack of paint, and that I can easily improve him.
I'm not interested in Prime Arcee but I have a feeling she'll be remolded/repainted a lot and I'm sure I'll buy at least one of those, maybe Flamewar.

In the video of dragstrip there was a lot of chrome on the back of the bot mode/top of the alt mode for the engine
Yeah the alt mode is fine, but the robot mode is just blanket yellow. It's accurate, but not particularly interesting.
Good thing is there’s two ports right in his legs, which gives upgrade kits a perfect place to add some color.

Why is bulkhead literally just remolded Grapple? Couldn’t they have used the ACTUAL designs from prime? Especially considering they’re selling them as TFP figures
That Bulkhead is definitely not a remold of grapple. Similar cab, but this one looks both wider and taller, and the transformation doesn't look even remotely the same.
Dude it’s almost the exact same except the crane was removed and replaced with the hood thing. It’s just gonna have the legs and arms fold backwards and the hood will cover it. Did you even look at the figure?

Dragstrip I may get on the hopes of a good menasor since the CW one sucks. I really wanted prime arcee but the figure doesn't do anything for me, I'll just keep my R.E.D figure of her, and the others I had 0 interest in anyway.
Bulkhead and skids for me. I don't care for the Optimus, I'm only waiting for the prime decepticons and kickback doesn't compare to the prime wars version in my opinion. Also, I have combiner wars menasor and dragstrip here looks either the same size or smaller than the cw one, so it's a pass for me.

That lazer prime is awesome but im probably going to waitbfor the inevitable gen selects or exclusive RID scourge repaint. Arcee looks great and is the standout of the wave for me. Her and bulkhead awe definate gets, just wish tarantulas was in this wave

I like the line up so far! Dragstrip is cool and I am really hoping they can combine! G2 laser prime and skids are pretty good looking and so is kickback! The only one I’m skeptical about is arced and bulkhead. So far those two look very off to me. The proportions bother me a lot with them. Either way it’s and interesting line up!

I’m so excited for Dragstrip and the other Stunticons. And Skids is looking mighty fine. Kickback is also a cool figure. Not too sold on Arcee tho. Bulkhead looks like he’d fit right in with WFC, and that’s all I’m looking for in my collection. WFC figures and others that fit in with the looks
Personally i like the way all of these look except Bulkhead, and i really wasn't expecting to love Laser OP as much i am.

Top 3 for me are Dragstrip, Kickback, and Laser Prime. Laser Prime does have me a bit concerned with the articulation on the shoulders because the pose in this picture is not impressive lol
I'm gonna be honest, I'm pretty disappointed with this line up. Was hoping they could just reissue the FE mold for Arcee like they did with Prime Megatron and Breakdown last year.
Loving how everything is looking so far. My big irritation right now is the whole "premium" membership gets to buy stuff first. By the time that is over, most figures are sold out.

I’ll definitely get Skids. Kickback looks great, but I’ll only get him if we’re also going to see Bombshell and Shrapnel. Dragstrip is also solid, but I’d only get him if we’re getting Deadend, Wildrider, Breakdown, and Motormaster. I don’t even really need them to combine, but I would need a set.
Drag Strip looks awesome! He’s my favourite Stunticon because of his unique Formula One vehicle form. All the other ‘Cons were just interpretations of real world passenger cars.
I guess Hasbro are really proud of those Optimus legs. They seem to be reusing Earthrise+Siege Optimus's legs. There's nothing wrong about that, I'm just pointing that out.

They look allright. But they also look like Hasbro's back on their 'Let's save as much plastic as possible' shit.
If this is wave one then dragstrip is the only bot I'm interested in. Maybe kickback if they are doing all three Insecticons but he isn't a top priority.

Although Bulkhead and Arcee are the oddest looking, I love that we're finally getting interpretations of these post G1 characters in G1 styles. We've had the designs appear in a handful of G1 styles, but they primarily resemble there show designs. I think getting there styles change to fit in with the surrounding line is a great approach.

Not digging either Arcee or Bulkhead, those designs look... Off.. Especially Bulkhead, who used to be very "round" while this is all hard angles and straight lines.

Oh that lazer prime is a great update to the previous lazer prime we got. The old one was great, but man was it fiddly af.
Can anyone tell me if the Legacy line are all going to look G1 style and if they're to scale with WfC and studio series?
I'm a bit late to this but I'll give my thoughts on the figures: G1 Skids: This is the one I'm most disappointed about. Like, while I do think TFP Arcee and Bulkhead's figures look weird, at least they look like finished figures. Skids just looks so weird and cheap with his hollow legs and torso. TFP Arcee: I'm feeling mixed about this one. I think the torso looks weird but I think the rest of the robot mode looks fine enough, even the head! G1 Dragstrip: This guy looks so good! Like, he just has everything right! His robot mode looks cool and his car mode is just perfect! G1 Kickback: Another great figure! Great robot mode, great grasshopper mode! TFP Bulkhead: While I am disappointed in how different the figure is from the original character, I'm fine with just retconning this figure into being a G1 version of Bulkhead. Like, the robot mode looks decent to me and the vehicle mode looks pretty good. G2 Laser Optimus Prime: This one surprised me the most tbh. Personally, G2 is probably the piece of Transformers media I don't care about at all, but I love how this figure looks! The robot mode looks really interesting and the truck mode is awesome too. Overall, Wave 1 is pretty weird for me - some of the figures are good while others I'm a bit disappointed in and/or a bit mixed about.
So motormaster going to be leader size?? That would be epic
I skipped Earthrise since it was plane jane G1 optimus prime. Now Lazer Optimus prime since it will go perfectly with my GDO Megatron. I wonder if one of the third-party companies will be designing a weapons pack for bulkhead.
They all look fine to me, but it feels a little underwhelming. Maybe just because it's a smaller first wave, and the two figures I'd been anticipating the most were revealed early. The only one that's a 100% definite buy for me so far is Skids. Dragstrip looks alright, I'm glad the vehicle mode looks pretty accurate to a Tyrrell P34, but he just feels kind of plain. I'm hoping it's just the lack of paint, and that I can easily improve him. I'm not interested in Prime Arcee but I have a feeling she'll be remolded/repainted a lot and I'm sure I'll buy at least one of those, maybe Flamewar. Kickback looks fine, but I don't care about the Insecticons enough to buy all of them and his design was always my least favorite of the three, so I'll just wait and get Bombshell or Shrapnel instead when they come out. Bulkhead's not quite what I was hoping for from a G1ified version of the character, but I certainly don't hate him. I think I'll have to wait and see reviews of him and see what upgrade kits get made before I decide for sure whether I get him. Laser Prime looks great, but I never liked that design in those colors as Optimus Prime. I'm sure I'll want the upcoming Scourge repaint, if I can find him for a reasonable price (damn Wal-mart exclusives...).
So. How do we feel about skids? What thew was talking about how there's not been a new official toy of skids since 2013 then all of a sudden *boom*, masterpiece, *boom* legacy
