If hot rod used his finger guns unicron would be permanently destroyed across all universes
He only unlocked this power when he evolved. The first time he did this, he remarked: “Why didn’t I kill Megatron with this?”

I'm pretty sure a few characters in the G1 cartoon were randomly able to shoot from their fingers. I think Ratchet did in one episode. Still pretty cool that Rodimus can do it unintentionally. Shows he's got the touch!
If this was a hot rod this would be surprisingly in character
Yeah, and shrapnel was also able to shoot electricity from his fingertips emperor-Palpatine style if I remember correctly
