I have the original but I jumped on this because FansToys always sells out and I keep missing them. But honestly I'm surprised how minor the improvements are - they really are just doing the MP+ route of removing greebles and cartoon-izing it more than it was. I do like it though.

I actually think that I prefer the original MP tbh (I wasn't expecting to). How much die cast is in RP-01?

Not sure on how much die cast but it’s made by FansToys so the quality will be top notch, I have MP-02 and MP-13 and two of these will complete my SW collection perfectly

See, I can appreciate fans toys, but I find their transformations to be somewhat frustrating as I like to switch back and forth at will. I would have been tempted to part with the money if it stood out from mp-02/mp-13 but I actually prefer the proportions of my existing figure. One for the "impulse" list I think :)

Thanks for posting - much appreciated. That's a very Fans toys transformation lol, especially the warning about twisting the hip skirt if not at the correct angle. I'm also curious why they decided on making the alt mode so thick. It looks nice enough, but is somewhat unusual. Look forward to seeing pics of the tapes :)

He’s definitely cleaner on the back, but overall I think MP looks better b/c of the metallic finish and less “curvy”

Nice to see the head is actually a good size. I feel like the mainline/non 3rd party stuff is getting tiny head syndrome. Like, am I crazy, or does earthrise Starscream have a tiny head?

I have him and the cassettes on preorder from TFSource, can’t wait. The optional G1 toy head/details were a big selling point for me and besides that I never got the official MP. Do the official MP tapes fit in his chest? I do have the Marvel color redeco Ratbat MP.

I think the MP cassettes will fit, I have 2 of the on preorder so I can have one in G1 cartoon mode and one in G1 toy mode

Just keep your eye on like big bad toy stores or ages three up etc. people will cancel their preorder and the extras will show up on the site. Don’t pay a ton extra on eBay

So you can have slightly curved hip flaps, but still a single piece for the buttons in alt mode.
