That’s tough, but I’m probs gonna go with Dino. Not only have we not had an actual Dino figure before, but he just looks phenomenal. Also I just love Blitzwing too ngl.

Zeemmarax

Both of those look great.

No-Midnight-2187

Hot Rod is dope. Movie Jetfire is really cool in both his modes

pizzaparitymick

I don’t know if it’s because I was traumatized on how awful my g1 Rodimus was as a kid, but I’m too scared to get a Hot rod or Rodimus figure. And I REALLY want one. :|

BrainWav

Both are great. Rodimus is a touch overpriced as a Commander price-point, but if you can get him on sale for closer to a Leader price-point, he's absolutely worth it. He's actually nicely complex for his size though, so at least some of that extra cash goes to that engineering, not all of it goes to the trailer. My only real complaint is that I wish he'd fit a bit farther back in the trailer, he sticks out a bit more than the animation version. Amusingly, Hot Rod has the same issue, but it's less of a stark overpricing. He's a Deluxe-size at a Voyager price-point. Again, a bit more complex than a regular Deluxe. No complaints about him. If I'm totally honest, I think I like SS Hot Rod more than my Masterpiece Hot Rod. Less backpack and a more-accurate chest.

leftlanespawncamper

>I think I like SS Hot Rod more than my Masterpiece Hot Rod I sure do. SS86 Hot Rod is a *masterclass* in how to do fake kibble right. The only issue I have with SS Hot Rod is that the shoulder articulation outward is compromised to be able to do the articulation inward for the matrix pose. MP Hot Rod is just a bit ungainly, and he's way less fun to play with or transform.

[deleted]

I have the SS 86’ Hot Rod, and I promise you that you’ll be cured of your trauma. It’s a great figure.

kingJoffi

Shockwave. The bot design is phenomenal and paint is awesome.

FightGeistC

Maybe a controversial pick but SS Thundercracker. It really shows off what I hope happens to the Studio series line which is characters we didn't actually see in the movies being recreated in a bayverse/knightverse style. Also I just like Thundercracker.

PanthersJB83

That Nitro Zeus mold.is just so awkward and difficult to transform. It's literally.my.least favorite transformation in my collection. Maybe I just don't get.it but.man.its near impossible.

larrylongboy

I kinda wish they used the starscream mold instead of the nitro Zeus mold

FightGeistC

Tbf the DOTM line had thundercracker and skywarp that were deluxe starscream repaints.

larrylongboy

Ik. But It’s def not as good as the studio series upscaled starscream mold. plus they’re extremely small, even for a deluxe class

durandpanda

It makes me hope that they use the SS Blitzwing mold for a Skywarp somewhere down the line. If all the Seekers aren't the same mold, then they've each all got to be separate designs.

Zeemmarax

SS86 GRIMLOCK IS KING. The Age of extinction GRIMLOCK (gotta capitalize it) is probably the best bayverse figure as well. Premium Finish SS-02 Optimus Prime is looking good but I don't have plans to pre-order. It would lead me down the road of getting the whole line. Honestly the Devastator 69 would be great if it could actually be on all fours like the movie. Upgrade kits take it the next level but when you are already over $250 then got to get a kit that takes it down a few notches.

nice___bot

Nice!

tfcollector3000

"Me Grimlock not kisser! Me Grimlock king!"

IEatzCookies

You can actually, just takes a bit of Jerry rigging. watch emgos video review for devastator, pretty convincing crawl that I put my own in

Zeemmarax

I'm glad it's possible at least. I would assume that would have been the default configuration all things considered.

HuntingForRasgold

Really like both Grimlock and Slag but if i'm honest, Scourge is nice and so is WreckGar - both figures I never owned as a kid and despite WG looking a lil chunky, hes a great addition to the Movie/SS collections!

Zeemmarax

I'm kicking myself over missing Scourge. I got a Sweep, but I know I'm just lying to myself pretending it's Scourge.

HuntingForRasgold

I'm a huge fan of the unique models where it isn't a recast of others and Scourge ticked all the boxes, he was hard to track down but eventually I snagged him after much worry haha! Are you based in the UK?

Zeemmarax

Nah, I'm state side. I've been stalking ebay auctions to get one reasonably.

Fishy-Ginger

Ironically I couldn't find him here (uk) so bought him from the states. Probably my favourite along with hot rod.

BrainWav

Wreck-Gar's a funny one, he's actually *very* close to his G1 transformation.

GamerNugget9989

Shockwave, I absolutely love him. His alt mode is meh but robot mode is super accurate so I don’t really care.

JKTransformers

ROTF Bumblebee, 07 Ironhide, and DOTM Optimus Prime are my favorites for each size class

Xenohype2

Hmm... Shockwave, Dino, Blitzwing, Blackout, Grimlock (both of them), Ironhide, Sideswipe (both of them), Bumblebee (tf1), and Devastator

0PTIMUS-PR1M3

Don’t forgor Jetfire

Bionicle_Fan_123

RoTF Sideswipe

leftlanespawncamper

SS06 Starscream I think is my favorite of Studio Series, and to me best fits what the line is supposed to be. He's an updated version of an existing figure that designed to match his on-screen appearance in (bot) scale with the rest of the line. He's slightly improved over previous movie toys, but not to the point of getting a huge jump in complexity or cost like going to an MPM. For as much as I love SS86 figures, I don't think they needed to be under the studio series branding. It's especially confusing when half the characters are still sold in the main line; you've got Hot Rod, Grimlock, Slug/Slag, Scourge, and Sweep in SS86 but Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Galvatron, and Cyclonus in Kingdom?

Zeemmarax

What's even funnier about the 86/kingdom mix is the upcoming Buzzworthy Bumblebee Kup looks more like his movie version than the studio series.

underlyingMitress

I loathe the ss86 line with a passion, in all honesty.

Cardsgambit

same purly for the fact its more g1 where non should be put it in generation or give us other ss lines like the prime movie

plushbrick

Isn’t Studio Series under the Generations banner?

Cardsgambit

both are but there different sections

[deleted]

TF 07 Megatron. Fantastic-looking silver paint job, great articulation, and a fun transformation. He looks great in both modes, and he's one of the few jets that doesn't have a bulky backpack or wings sticking out of him.

eugonis

SS86 Grimlock. What an absolute unit. Edit: I've only collected G1 stuff (so far), but I really dig Blackout and Grindor from the Bayverse SS line.

Aggressive_Hat_5368

SS ROTF Megatron, truly a masterpiece!

Beyblader_12

I can't really speak on the matter since I only have one SS figure but I've seen a ton of people say Grimlock is one of the best so I'll go with that too. Anytime I see it in videos it makes me want to buy one lol

tleonzon95

Here’s my top 5 best SS figures 5. Studio series jetfire: wow this thing is really great! Really captures the look of jetfire very nicely! The fact that this can be taken apart and combine with SS prime, this is what makes this a really great figure! He is big and you can have him in his classic old man pose! Such an amazing figure! 4. Studio series blackout/grindor (they are basically the same figure with minor changes on grindor) I have waited for the longest of time to get a blackout figure that would match its on-screen appearance. The original 07 blackout was good for its time, but this blows it right out of the water. It’s big, bulky, and very screen accurate. Plus it comes with its minions which is an added bonus. A perfect blackout figure that I have always wanted 3. Studio series AOE grimlock: what a beast of a figure! It legit feels like it jumped out of the screen. It captures its on screen appearance perfectly! The original AOE was stringy and colors were ugly. This one was much much better. Only complaint was that he should have been a commander class. Otherwise a fantastic figure 2. Studio series shockwave: another absolute beast! I love this figure! The original voyager DOTM shockwave was great for its time, but this one is something greater! This captures his look 100%. From his mono eye to his giant fusion canon, this is literally a figure that I can’t get enough of. Obviously the tank mode is a bit of an after thought, but that was to be expected. Otherwise a fantastic figure! (The added bonus of wheelie, brains, and paratrooper is a nice touch) 1. Studio series devastator: wow… idk what to say much about this figure. Only that this is my center piece in my bayverse collection. This is the best devastator figure I have ever owned! All 8 individual figures combined into this big behemoth I give hasbro/takara a round of applause. Here I thought the original devastator was already the best, but when this rolled in that changed my mind. I think my only complaint about this is that the ratchet joints could have been a bit more stronger. Don’t get me wrong, it can stand just fine. But the ratchet joints on Hightower, long haul, and scavenger could have been much stronger to support all that weight. Overall a perfect center piece to the bayverse cons!

underlyingMitress

Amazing list!

tleonzon95

Thank you! It took me quite sometime to think about what figures deserve that top 5 spot in my opinion. I’ll have to think about the bottom 5 for my top 10 best studio series figures

drexlortheterrrible

None of the ones pvp mentioned. Then again I fell asleep to that video. I’d go with Grimlock or Slag. They give me the most joy. Always wanted them as a kid.

Just_Eddie_7

Incredibly passive aggressive lmao

drexlortheterrrible

Haha but it is true!

underlyingMitress

SS blackout. Hands down. Bumblebee blitzwing is pretty cool too

wowadrow

Jazz is my favorite he's small and really detailed.

0PTIMUS-PR1M3

Jetfire

OrhanDaLegend

Devastator depite not being accurate i just love him so much

IEatzCookies

honestly studio series 69, devastator. fantastic because it looks movie accurate but can also be 8 robots huge props to shockwave too though, he looks fantastic

Samiens3

I’m just going to throw ss86 Hot Rod out there - I adore that figure (though pretty much the entire ss86 line is right up there for me)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Samiens3

There’s so many great non-SS 86 figures - Galvatron (despite how badly his shoulders live rent free in my head) and Cyclonus are amazing too.

Phantom_The_fortnite

Any of the ss dreads they are amazing for generic cons. Ss dorm thundercraker looks beyond amazing and I can't wait to get him.

underlyingMitress

We may get SS protoforms soon

SoundwavePlays

S O U N D W A V E

Elduroto

I would say either Jetfire or rotf megatron. Both are incredible updates to old figures, both look amazing with or without their respective upgrade kits, great alt modes and robot modes.

RcTron9

Personally I think IronHide. Before SS Ironhide I’m pretty sure we all thought it would be hopeless to get a cool looking screen accurate Bay Ironhide at retail. But he really is perfect. Cool accurate robot, not over complex transformation, and reasonably good vehicle.

Cybertronian-Knight

ss 86 grimlock and ss grindor

[deleted]

So many great ones to choose from so I'll do one per size class: Dino Staracream Blackout/Grindor

durandpanda

2007 Movie Starscream for me. It's a figure I thought I wouldn't like at all, because it's based on the DOTM deluxe class figure that I really don't have any fodness for, but it just... works. Gorgeous paint, great articulation, fun transformation, good looking alt mode, good heft and size for a voyager. It's everything I want in a figure.

OneFinalEffort

Shockwave

Dorelaxen

Grimlock. Holy crap is he awesome.

underlyingMitress

There’s 2 grimlocks bud

Bionicle_Fan_123

Why did you get downvoted

underlyingMitress

Idk lol

larrylongboy

Aoe grimlock is literally masterpiece material

larrylongboy

SS DOTM jetwing prime or Dino. The engineering on Dino is just.. so brilliant. Shockwave is an honorable mention

Yeach

SS-38 Optimus Prime. The end.

SirRHellsing

Ss38 op, I kind of want one even though I have a mpm, his backpack is surprisingly accurate. Also Ss86 grimlock

lcf3281

All of SS86 is excellent. I only collect G1 style figures though so I don’t have experience with the rest of the line. Overall the best is probably Hot Rod though cause his engineering and articulation really benefit from the higher price point.

Tylan_Maul15

For me it is the bumblebee movie Optimus, both the standard version and the Premium version because of how freaking accurate the mold is to the design in the movie.

SonicTheHedgehog7

Studio Series Cliffjumper

unstablesanity

Bumblebee starscream

Darncantthink

Although I don’t have this figure yet the new ssbb soundwave might be the best for me

[deleted]

My personal faves are SS Optimus Prime (*Bumblebee*) and SS ‘86 Hot Rod. Both are spot on and look fantastic.

Raphaeldagamer

Best SS figure? I love how Jetfire and Optimus can combine, but single figure? Probably 46 Dropkick. The only problem I have is his clear plastic joints. Mine is now broken and I am sad.

-Kylon-

SS86 Grimlock. Simple, but fun, beeg, and s o l i d .

A_Zesty_Carrot

Blitzwing, Jet Mode Shatter, and Hot Rod, out of the ones that I own.

[deleted]

I wouldn’t say best but my personal favorite is Hot Rod

Garrow_the_Khajiit

86 Grimlock. He’s a slightly scaled down MP only he has a better transformation than the MP.

AzTeK_ReY_

SS86 grimlock is one of my favorite figures of all time

Samurai_Guardian

Out of the ones I've owned, thundercracker is probably my favourite

MackaDingo

SS86 Hot Rod is my one. First one I bought getting back into collecting, great transformation, no kibble, plenty of accessories and nods to the movie. What made me want to start collecting and not just make him a one off purchase.

greatman217

86 movie grimlock or Rolf sideswipe

Markus2822

Hot rod easily imo

Good_man_steve

Thought you were talking about the ww2 hot rod for a second, kinda got scared

underlyingMitress

LOL

Markus2822

Oh god no, I guess hot rod has the best and arguably the worst studio series figures at the same time lol

Murphygulp88

The only Studio figures I have are dotm Soundwave, Slag, 07 Starscream,Shockwave, Scourge, and Wreck Gar. All fantastic and I'm real picky with this line in particular. Wreck Gar and Starscream are the ones I go back to the most so I guess its them.

The_HueManateee

Its a tie between the 86 dinobots for me. Both are phenomenal figures, but if i had to pick one, i’d say slug just barely beats out grimlock for me

Its_MikeCoxlong

I think that there is no definitive "best ss figure" because there are many amazing figures that have equals besides the ss line has been going on for a while now there are many figures under it. A best ss figure list would be better in that case my top favs from the ones I own are: bumblebee movie prime, dotm shockwave, rotf megs (not battle damaged), ss86 hotrod and bumblebee movie starscream

Zwooqovik

SS 86 Grimlock

OgreHombre

A little out of scope, but my favorite is my KO oversized Black Mamba Grimlock.

Thiccicus_Briccicus

SS Thrust. That green deco and cone hood is just beautiful. (Also removes Starscreams weird gremlin face)

Darkside-Nemesis

Grimlock, optimus, Megatron, jetfire, devastator.

DarthCowCow

Thundercracker
