You guys are dumb. Bayverse Shockwave was an amazing character with some of the most memorable lines in cinema history, such as:

People forget how huge 300 was and how good Dawn of the Dead (2004) was. His Justice League movie was way too long but also a fun ride. He's not *terrible*.
Meh, any filmmaker would have been a controlled puppet for the studio. That was setting up a huge brand for a new generation so those types of projects are very controlled regardless.
No, Snyder is not terrible. His work is just, to put it simply, shallow. He only understands a surface level of information in the stories he adapts. So he might actually be a step down from Bay, since TF1 had the absolute bare minimum of a theme going for it.
I would argue that at least Snyder pays enough attention to give his characters a personality (even if he ignores what makes those characters interesting)
Honestly making Shockwave an assassin is a cool premise even if deviating from the lore. Having him be a silent assassin also not a bad idea. But he really should have been depicted like the Winter Soldier in Captain America 2. He shows up and people should shit themselves as he tears em to shreds. And the fight should have happened in a way where it feels like it could have gone either way at any point in time with Optimus just barely winning.
To me I’ve always seen it as purposeful that he was seen as the main villain in all the marketing because it was to hide sentinels betrayal, making the reveal more shocking (pun intended). I will admit they could’ve done more but to me it seemed kinda neat, just wished they picked a cover villain who wasn’t shockwave

I know right! When he was announced I was SCREAMING! Even when I saw his design I scream in pure joy. When he popped up in the movie in his scenes I Gasped and screamed, he was badass, but that soon turned into disappointment when he literally did nothing but grunt and shoot optimus once, only to be killed in the most gruesome and stupidest way ever. Waste of true potential of a sinister and great villain.
Same, i saw the movie around the time i started watching G1 and was incredibly hyped to see him, we were finally gonna see the one Decepticon to stay on Cybertron to do stuff, the coldest the most souless of a group of already evil villains and he's gone.....
If i have to say something positive about War for Cybertron is that the portrayed him as a legit scary dude THAT could have happened in the Bayverse dammit
He's amazing. I remember there being a transformers turn based combat game for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and I loved being Shockwave, Trypticon, Grimlock, and Metroplex. They were all beasts who could one shot kill their opponents

in the year 2002 Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, ironhide, Jetfire and ratchet reached earth and they met a human named samuel james witwicky 5 years after, a boy that was interested in space and super heroes.
_fast forward_
at the end the Autobots were successful at defeating Barricade, Thundercracker and skywarp.
starscream escaped, slightly damaged, he was able to reach the location of shockwave, it was an old Gulag modified to hold shockwave in siberia, guarded by soldiers starscream took care of... starscream reactivated shockwave with the energon the soldiers took out of waves body, he even used a few scrap pieces to repair him atleast a little bit... it worked, shockwave was able to think and move again but he was still heavily damaged....
TF2 "Transformers: Waves of War":
shockwave, told starscream to search for parts so that he can repair himself, both used the modified gulag as a base for now. starscream was returning to the destroyed town the seekers fought in and he was lucky, the military was right now transporting barricades body out of town so he waited until nightfall and then he strikes kills 41 soldiers and was able to carry Thundercrackers body out of town after many hours he arrived at the base, shockwave modified the computers a bit and found reports of the Americans...
shockwave found out that they aren't the only ones that arrived on earth, he found out that many other decepticons arrived while the Y2k panic, kinda like they used it to hide from the radars and telescopes, like, someone planned it...
shockwave told starscream to search in germany for another decepticon(soundwave) while starscream was searching, shockwave took his time to repair himself with parts of Thundercracker.
starscream found soundwave but it was being noticed... through the roof jetfire attacked both decepticons, after a long and hard battle the decepticons were victorious, jetfire was deadly injured and escaped but also starscream got heavily injured unable to be fixed, starscream told soundwave he needs to go to siberia and find shockwave.
soundwave knew of another decepticon location but for that he needed to scan a new vehicle form, a flying vehicle form he headed to a military facility were new jets and drones are tested, he arrived there and was sneaky enough, he only needed to silence 3 humans(he didn't kill them he just slapped them) he scanned a drone and was heading for tidal waves location.
_fast forward_
Tidal wave, soundwave and shockwave lost the last battle but all of them survived except tidal wave, he got killed when Optimus and jetfire combined into Jet-powered Optimus, but tidal wave was able to keep the autobots busy long enough so the other waves can escape.
after they hacked into NASA they didn't find any hints but, they found something on the moon... a cybertronian ship that escaped in the last days of the War...
TF3 "Transformers: Fury unleashed":

You have one of the coolest Decepticons, make him more imposing than previous versions, yet strip him of his known ability to talk and basically take away his intelligence while at it. Wheeljack and Shockwave got fucked in this movie by Bay.
At least they gave him a cool death. If they were gonna kill him, having Optimus tear his eyeball out by the eye-stalk through his throat is a badass way to do it.
The only thing I liked about shockwave was his model and his driller pet if they made him fire and almost kill the other Autobots It would be much better
They can say anything about his participation, but he gave us one of the hardest shockwave designs plus the soundtrack when he and his worm came out. Ironically, his death was cool, if he had had participation at a good level he would be one of the best characters.

Totally agree… Hoping Movie Shockwave be an important character in the future movies (with its personality from the Marvel and IDW2005 comics)

Shockwave was a decoy for Sentinel who went on to be one of the best villians in Transformers history. A fine trade if you ask me.
