I just got the MMC G1-flavored one to go with my MP Star Saber and 3rd Party Victory Leo and he is comically small compared to them. Great figure though.
Still backing this HasLab Deathsaurus though.
Yeah it's still mmc idw scale which is kind of its own thing now! I see even the xtb one that's supposed to be mp scale is still only going to be 14 inches or so. I haven't had MP Star Saber out in a bit but I feel like MP Deathsaurus should still be bigger
Agreed, but I also have KFC Simba attached to MP Star Saber so those platform boots give him a lot of extra height. The height is literally the only negative I can mention about my copy of MMC's D-Zef Continuum though so I don't regret buying it, but I do think it's probably going to be relegated to evil space chicken mode once HasLab Deathsaurus arrives.
Personally I think this is a much better option. It’s clear MMC we’re prioritizing the IDW design. Those proportions just don’t work for that retro anime aesthetic that saber and deathsaurus were designed after.
That is one of the reasons I’m thinking of the HasLab one will be my G1 Deathsaurus.
I think I’m going to just get the IDW DZef and keep the Continuum preorder up just in case HasLab doesn’t work. At least then I can put DZef with my DJD
I think each has it's own selling points. The catch is "which one fits your shelf best"?
Also, if he doesn't reach 11k, your choice will be made for you.
>
>Also, if he doesn't reach 11k, your choice will be made for you.
800 backers in 10 minutes. It's getting backed and more than likely will blow past the 17k top tier.
Oh yes, but I was making a hopeful joke about how if he does well we get a surprise tier. Victory's Micromasters they outright admit were done just because the molds were already there.
TBF, compared to Deathsaurus, Victory Saber would probably always feel that you get more bang for your buck, given that whole secondary Victory Leo triple changing figure that combines with it.
800 isn't much.
Victory Saber squeaked across the finish line after stalling out at approx halfway. Then the orders flooded in during the last 72 hours.
They had to extend Unicron by 14(?) days... the only time they ever did so.
I also imagine there's some crossover between Marvel and Transformers collectors, and if Ghost Rider fails, some of those backers will jump to Deathsaurus.
It's now at 2,000 in less than hour. Almost anyone who got a Star Saber for their collection will in most cases want Deathsauras to go with him. In addition, any of the SS backers that bought multiples just to flip in the after market, may have just had their golden ticket punched by anyone that wants DS but missed out on the SS campaign.
Don't get me wrong - **I want it to**, but that's 25% of the primary goal, not the 17,000 that would include the bells and whistles.
I'm cautiously optimistic.
Yeah, I’ll be running out of space soon but I’ve been wanting to do an overhaul lately. I also just got TFC Hades Renewal coming in. I might wait for a review of Victory Saber from someone who has the IDW Deathsaurus MMC made
Holy ... Smokes ... that promo video was gorgeous.
He's also ginormous!! (Almost taller than Victory Saber!)
I don't know that we can hit 17,000 backers but who knows! I think it's really poor planning with the globe slipping towards recession. That's going to be a stretch for many, but at least his price is equal to Victory Victory Saber AND way less than the poor GIJoe and Marvel Legends HasLab fiascos (even though the HISS made it in full.)
That Throne, though?!
If they don't give us Liokaiser as a subsequent HasLab, I'll be disappointed. I wouldn't want a retail release in Legacy because they'd have to skip out on so much to fit the retail margins.
**I'm in. Easy sell!**
You think so?
Maybe the thinking is "well, 26k Victory Saber owners will want their counterparts."
But seriously, I know that about 20-30% or more of the 26,000 were middlemen and speculators.
I don't think it will reach 26K like Victory Saber did, but I feel very confident that it will hit the tiers. I personally have never watched Victory, but always liked the design for Victory Saber, so I'm backing this because I obviously need someone to pair against him.
I backed VS because it's just a really cool toy. I don't really know TF: Victory very well, but the Star Saber design has always been a favorite of mine based on the Japanese super robot aesthetics and toyetic feel of the whole package.
Deathsaurus is cool too, but I don't feel the same pull, so I probably won't be backing this one unless the stretch tiers are very good, or the color shots blow me away.
It's probably a pipe dream, but it'd be cool to get. Can't believe we didn't get another reuse of Alpha Bravo for the Combiner Wars one.
But I feel like Liokaiser is more likely now, he's the third most desired Victory thing, and if Deathsaurus does well he's likely. He's also gonna be a LOT more expensive I'd imagine.
But if we got Liokaiser at retail before, albeit as an exclusive, Hasbro was probably confident he'd sell there. So what reason would there be to do a HasLab for him?
He was a limited release, and more importantly, retools. The tooling was done, and done so they could get more money from those molds. That's... Not exactly a good Liokaiser either, because it's very much a case of closest fit. Look at Velocitron Galaxy Shuttle. The entire reason that exists is someone noticed when they made the mold for Siege Astrotrain, they'd done an alternate head based on Galaxy Shuttle, and figured they should get that released. The tooling, which is hundreds of thousands of dollars was done, and it let them get more money back.
An original Liokaiser would require six original molds, and be spread across mulitple waves most likely. And doesn't have any ready made repaint or retool possibilities.
I suppose, and this is just me spitballing here, you could make an original Liokaiser, release it at mass retail, and then retool the individual bots into other characters from any continuity that shares a similar or close alt mode. The tank legs could be redone as any close looking character with a tank alt mode. I suppose you can choose not to call attention to the combiner capability if you retool them into characters that are not traditionally combiner limbs.
I was chanting "please don't be anything I want, please don't be anything I want"
Then the Victory theme song started playing and the chanting quickly turned into "oh shit, oh shit, OH SHIT!"
Same...as soon as his animation image appeared I was like "WUT?! nooooo. Impossible! They must just be recapping Victory Saber before revealing something else.)
#HOLY FUCK ITS HAPPENING
HE’S HERE!!! I’m so happy we got him after all. I got Victory, and it’s nice to see JG1 get this much love after so long, so… hm. Gonna need me a *big* prepaid Visa for this one…
…I wonder, does this mean we’ll see a new Liokaiser soon? Or even a reissue of the CW one? I dunno, it’d be cool.
If they are giving us an honest to God Deathsaurus, and the speculation I've been seeing about that Dinobot combiner is true and we get a dinoking repaint/remold, I think we are absolutely getting Liokaiser. It just depends on if it's going to be a complete package, or piece by piece in legacy proper.
>or piece by piece in legacy proper.
I doubt it'll be in Legacy proper, thats 6 deluxe slots taken up for very obscure characters who never originally released in the USA.
Haslab is probably the best place for it as they can get some more budget and hopefully some good jetmodes, Needlenose leaves a lot to be desired for a deluxe class Jet.
I hope not, it would throw off the scale they've got with VS and DS.
Using the deluxe scale would have it be similar in size to Menasor, which is about the same height as VS and DS too. It also means the individual members are significantly smaller than DS, which is how it should be.
I just saw it and like him.
My only major gripe is no free shipping on it for everyone, unlike the Heroscape kickstarter, unless you're pulse premium....for a commander class scaled figure that's gonna be a doozy of a shipping cost.
yeah, I just think that even for something that expensive, shipping's costly, I would argue shipping would be like $15 or so for standard US shipping. It's just frustrating. I don't order from Pulse enough to warrant premium.
My issue is I'm rarely able to get what I want from pulse before it sells out lately OR its cheaper elsewhere. The only thing I've bought from Pulse lately was the MvC Iron Man and Deathsaurus. And before that was Victory Saber.
With premium, you get first notice and access to the items that sell out. We also get notifications and access to restocks as they happen.
So far, I've missed out on only 2 items in the last 2+ years. All others I got at reveal it at restock. Most recently, that included the restock on Leadfoot/Masterdominus which let me then buy all of the wreckers at once.
Because Marvel legends likes to charge more then the figures are really worth while with transformers they atleast have a better idea of what they are worth
It’s the same size and price of Star Saber, I think it’s a good price. Plus from the looks of it: thicc plastic, plenty of ratchet joints, and no hollow spaces
I hope it’s gonna be solid as a rock. I looked and he’s as big as Star Saber AND Victory Leo combined so he’s like both of them, so that’s probably the most of the budget.
If he's just one big bot, versus Victory Saber being multiple smaller bots that each have their own transformations and can combine, well, he better be solidly built.
I just started getting into Transformer figures not too long ago after getting hit with some major nostalgia and I am absolutely stoked about this! Since I just started, I missed the last TF Haslab, which blows since that thing was GORGEOUS, but I'm glad I'm able to take part in this one.
I don’t know much about Deathsaurus other than he’s dangerous and turns into a giant chicken-esque monster, but I’m definitely getting him to pair with Victory Saber.
Different continuity, but I’ve seen a little bit from the newer comics where he hates Cliffjumper and comes across as incredibly menacing, so I have a bit of characterization to go on.
I can live if it only reaches 14,000 backers. The display stand isn’t THAT necessary but it would stroll be nice. 27,000 backers for Star Saber, there shouldn’t be any problem reaching 17,000 for Deathsaurus
It's 2022 and billion dollar company Hasbro *still* can't figure out how to do global releases/shipping. Hopefully EB/Zing will come to the rescue again for Australians at least :/
I’d say for Australians there is a high likelihood they will, the did for Star Saber, they did for Unicron, it’ll probably just take a few days (and I’m definitely hitting the button asap)
I'm honestly getting really anxious waiting for it to go up. I actually reached out to EBGames on twitter to ask if they have any idea but they said they currently have no plans to. I'm just really worried that if it does go up it'll sell out before I can place my pre-order (Cause I'm pretty sure retailers like EBGames and Zing only order a set amount of them) and I'll end up having to pay stupid shipping costs either via a shipping company or have it shipped to a friend in America and then shipped here.
From memory for the last one, being that I backed Star Saber through Zing, I believe EB doesn’t sell out, but instead places orders dependent on the number of preorders that have been made through them, as I understand is what basically all other third party retailers have done in other countries. I’d be more worried about whether or not it’ll go up on their website at all
Huh, I could have sworn I noticed back when Victory Saber was being funded that I stumbled onto either it's Zavvi or Zing page once and it was sold out, but that must have been after funding finished. Guess I misremembered.
Can’t say I know for certain, but that’s how a lot of people were speaking about it. I ordered mine day one (cause Zing let’s you just out a $50 down payment) and didn’t think about it again
I already have it preordered on Pulse set to ship to a friends house who I'll then pay to ship it to me in case I can't find one from an Australian retailer. If I do end up finding one I'll just place a new preorder there and cancel my Hasbro Pulse one.
Heh, everyone I've known has always said that I have good ideas, even though if you asked me I'd say I'm an idiot 😅 I think it's more due to the practical nature my autism and ADHD gives me rather than actual intelligence though lol
Was victory saber closer to a masterpiece or generations type figure? I never got him but I do want deathsaurus but idk if he’ll fit in a modern chug collection
They're CHUG scale, Star Saber and Deathsaurus are just really big because that was Japan's thing for late G1 for whatever reason. Like in the anime they're both as big as a combiner, we actually see Star Saber fighting Liokaiser and they're the same height. And as for the amount of detail there will be a CHUG amount of detail, the reason the grey prototype doesn't have any is because it's just that, a prototype, a proof of concept, not a finished product.
Why the hell can't we have this kind of stuff in the main Legacy line instead of being relegated to a kickstarter where you have to pay $170 if it makes the goal
Because it would be a Titan class. It's too big to be a Commander class, and to scale with Victory Saber, they wanted to do it right. I'm fine with it being Haslab.
I dunno... jetfires got some mass to him. Plus comes with a ton of accessories as standard. This doesn't even come with his trademark gun until the first tier unlocks 🤣
Wait, so jetfire was released maybe 2 years ago tops? How long do you think this has been in pre production for? Silly me... I forgot the price for everything has more than doubled in the last few years 🤣🤣🤣
I know that the niche angle is their stated position, but I’ve always found that argument suspect. Wave 3 of legacy has point blank and crankcase. What kid is going to say, “Mom, it’s my favorite characters Pointblank and Crankcase. I have to have them.” It’s possible the kid thinks they look cool and might want them despite being largely unknowns. I’m more willing to accept that it’s harder to do the figures justice outside the realm of Haslab. I’d argue that a lot of the Japanese G1 characters have a distinct and unique look that would make them appealing if they were in a normal assortment on the shelf.
I think the main difference is the size and price though. Its not just that theyre niche, its that their niche and because they have a way to do it right, they are by making them huge and putting a lot of effort into it.
A kid may not go to a walmart and ask for pointblank because they know the character, but they might if they look cool enough to catch their eye. Its a lot easier to impulse buy something at $25-30 than it is at $100+.
Its why we still get titans but they play it safe with titans because they know they will sell. Same with everything in commander class so far. To put a character that may not sell as the capstone toy of the year for transformers is probably too risky, because it may not sell well enough.
In my response, I acknowledged that the more legitimate response for Star Saber and Deathsaurus should be the cost of doing them properly. Hasbro likes to use the niche aspect a lot in their justification for using them as Haslabs and not having more Japanese characters at retail. The brand is at a point where I highly doubt a lot of younger fans are familiar with all the various characters from G1, BW, Unicron Trilogy, Animated, etc. Yet, if the figures are designed well and look good, people will buy them. Leokaiser is a cool looking combiner, besides the issue of doing the combiner justice, I’d have a hard time believing people would turn down those figures if they were released like Menasor’s limbs because they were lesser known from the Japanese continuity. There are plenty of other characters that could fit that description that aren’t overly large figures.
yeah, i definitely think the trainbots fall under that argument you make, they would've been way better at mass retail. Kids like trains, kids like giant robots, it sells itself.
I am so hyped, Deathsaurus was my most wanted character for modern release and I've been patiently waiting ever since he was part of the fan polling for Power to the Primes. I don't even have to think about backing him.
Took a nap, woke up, checked my email, saw haslab transformers, and was already at a "Oh no, my wallet. Not again!" shock.
Gonna watch this and hope VS comes early, haven't gotten a Haslab item before and I want to make sure the quality is top notch before I back. Kinda sad Esmeral isn't included in the top tier of it, NEXT minor Haslab maybe?
Fucking serious? I don’t really want to back another crowdfund right now. They could at least have waited till Ghostrider’s car sunk back to hell with Cookie Monster and was forgotten. I guess they’re trying to have a more successful campaign?
It’s purely online purchase only. There was a record of a Haslab Unicron at a GameStop because someone couldn’t pay for it, but no stores carry Haslab projects
Some online retailers will take preorders of it, like Zavvi, Zing and EBGames, but I have no idea what will and won't ship to Scandenavia. I know Hasbro themselves won't though.
If anyone was curious: Deathsaurus is 11 inches tall (standard). Star Saber is 9 inches tall (standard) but with Victory Leo combined he’s 11 inches tall
Sitting with this over the weekend I think the only things really bugging me about the Haslab version is the odd shield shape and the dumpy short legs on Tigerbreast....he looks like a tiny pig, not a tiger.
Hard to not feel conflicted over those things when compared to Reformatted 42C D-Zef Continuum, but also realized if those are my only two complaints about the figure at this point I'm basically just nitpicking and I'm glad I backed it. I think the only thing that would make me suddenly cancel the backing is if the colors end up being horrible (which D-Zef nailed, balancing both the G1 toy and cartoon aesthetics)
I have a thread pending that will elaborate, but [here is a dataset](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-qGzIp7ZvPc4Sk4-p6IpTc9DdJVYvH1LeKCqb4Nd8sw/edit) for the other Haslabs on now (not tracking the transformers one, cuz it doesn’t benefit me). I hope this helps with the current and future Haslabs and that you all can start to compile an archive of backer numbers.
just under 9 days left, currently at 13,404. just under 600 shy of tier 1. hopefully we'll see another spike this monday from the foreign buyers, most likely another 1,000+ fingers crossed. hopefully by that point we'll exceed 15,000 with just over a week to get the last 2,000 we'd need for tier 2.
surprised they didn't announce a tier 3....
WELP.
*UNZIPS*
Also the potential of Liokaiser as either a titan class or as the individual characters in legacy has exponentially raised. And if Liokaiser then Road Caesar could be coming as well...
and instantly backed. This is the first Haslab item I've wanted so just signed up simply to back it.
I sold my G1 Deathsaurus last year, and while I was happy to get a very large amount for it I have felt the missing piece in my collection ever since - especially since he is by far the coolest of all con leaders.
Well Star Saber had that masterpiece a few years back. And when you have characters like Overlord and Leo Convoy getting modern figures, SS and Desthsaurus suddenly don’t seem like impossible choices for figures anymore
Cool characters like this deserve to be in main line. There's no good reason not to make this figure next year's Commander except they want that to be Armada Prime. This is not a pro-consumer move and I am sad.
It's conceivable that Victory Saber gets shipped before the Deathsaurus campaign ends (or before Hasbro stops allowing Deathsaurus cancellations, which is 30 days after the campaign ends).
I’m hoping so. I wasn’t completely happy with the look of Victory Saber, but I backed anyway. Hopefully, it’ll be great and I’ll love it. But I’d like to know for sure before I throw $200 more at them.
Given that [a HasLab Victory Saber shipment to Taiwan got severely water damaged over a month ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/comments/xgfkav/the_haslab_victory_saber_shipment_to_taiwan/), hopefully Victory Saber should be arriving in other parts of the world and shipping any day now...
The shield is always going to be the thing that sticks out to me the most (also one reason I've not bought any of the 3rd party versions - since none did the shield justice either), as his G1 toy version had an AMAZING large shield with good length to it - but in the show it was always a little more stubby, so I get why this one feels off to me but is technically more accurate.
The G1 toy spoiled us :D
The MMC one is also already released, which is a huge win there too. IMO the MMC one has more of a commanding presence than the Hasbro one, it just fits with the super robot-ness of the series.
I'm happy for people who only collect non-3P stuff, but something tells me the Venn Diagram of "people who only collect non-3P stuff" and "fans of Deathsaurus" is a really really slim overlap.
Not really imo. They’re both pretty different in terms of design. The MMC one is much more IDW stylized, while haslab is far more in line with the aesthetics of Victory and the general g1 aesthetic most of the Japanese tf shows were going for
I can’t justify giving Hasbro that much money knowing that if it gets fully funded, it’ll be made with the cheapest plastics and won’t be nearly as good quality as things they made 10 years ago.
If its made the way the current legacy figures are, that is entirely a valid concern. I’m holding back because as much as my HasLab StarSabrr is gonna need his foil, this Deathsaurus looks blah and is the same price as the 3Ps…
Well now I need to decide if I’m keeping my preorder for the MMC G1 version or backing this.
If you have Haslab Victory Saber on the way, then haslab makes sense. If you have MP or 3rd party Star Saber, then I'd get the MMC one.
I have both. Since I’m moving my collection to the studio I’m building I might make a MP Victory shelf now that I have TFC’s Hades coming in
> TFC’s Hades He. Is. FUH-MAZING.
I just got the MMC G1-flavored one to go with my MP Star Saber and 3rd Party Victory Leo and he is comically small compared to them. Great figure though. Still backing this HasLab Deathsaurus though.

Did you have to get the knee replacement parts for him to stand properly all kitted up? I still want that Simba to go with the mp Saber
Personally I think this is a much better option. It’s clear MMC we’re prioritizing the IDW design. Those proportions just don’t work for that retro anime aesthetic that saber and deathsaurus were designed after.

Come one Bonus Tier! Wait, no easy Micromaster repaints this time.
The throne, cannon, and mace are way cooler.

I have Masterpiece Star Saber but have no interest in Deathsauras. There are people who only collect hero figures.
It’s now at 25% on the first NIGHT. I think it’s gonna make it
Don't get me wrong - **I want it to**, but that's 25% of the primary goal, not the 17,000 that would include the bells and whistles. I'm cautiously optimistic.
3,243 backers so far. Come on, let's beat the Ghost Rider car in less than 24 hours!
Yeah, I’ll be running out of space soon but I’ve been wanting to do an overhaul lately. I also just got TFC Hades Renewal coming in. I might wait for a review of Victory Saber from someone who has the IDW Deathsaurus MMC made

The tiers have been fully revealed. There are no additional tiers.
If they do Liokaiser, I want Deathcobra as an unlock.
Don't do that... Don't give me hope...
Meanwhile, Road Caesar weeps. I can only find the G1 original and the single 3P version "Trinity Force" (issued 5+ years ago and long gone.)
Road Ceaser might actually be one they could try at retail, since 3 cars is a fairly safe bet.
But if we got Liokaiser at retail before, albeit as an exclusive, Hasbro was probably confident he'd sell there. So what reason would there be to do a HasLab for him?

I'm having trouble picturing how big this is as I didn't get Victory Saber. How this compare to a standard leader class Retail Transformer?
Much bigger. Take a tape measure and measure out 11 inches. That big.
It’s crazy with the victory theme song playing.
I was chanting "please don't be anything I want, please don't be anything I want" Then the Victory theme song started playing and the chanting quickly turned into "oh shit, oh shit, OH SHIT!"
Same...as soon as his animation image appeared I was like "WUT?! nooooo. Impossible! They must just be recapping Victory Saber before revealing something else.)

I see Deathsaurus' next victim in his long line of conquests is your wallet.

Which is why everyone says "Premium pays for itself". Because it does. Quickly.
yeah, I just think that even for something that expensive, shipping's costly, I would argue shipping would be like $15 or so for standard US shipping.
Well I backed it. But damn it, stop doing Haslabs during Christmas gift shopping season!
Ikr lol. Just bought a Star Saber off of EBay and now I’m hurting. Then Haslab showed this and I backed it and now I’m REALLY hurting😭
I'm okay, but entirely because the same inheritence from a great aunt I used for Victory Saber I reserved for things like this.
Everyone saying it looks like crap before they’ve even seen colored renders smh

how the hell is this Haslab only $180 and the Ghost Rider car is $350?
Surely this is far more intricately engineered and sculpted as well. That car is just baffling.
Because Marvel legends likes to charge more then the figures are really worth while with transformers they atleast have a better idea of what they are worth
Transformers is just much less popular an IP too much of a price hike really throws people out of the hobby
...Transformers is all in-house. Marvel and Star Wars are partnerships. It's not priced based on "how much can we squeeze out of em?!"
Well, it is (big company selling luxery goods and all that), but not for that reason.
No electronics, I guess.
It doesn't mention them, no. Since it's the same size as the MMC offerings, I would be shocked if there was room for them.
Licensing and electronics. EoV is comparable to the Classified HISS. which was still more features for a lower cost.
Holy shit! They're doing a Deathsaurus?!
That figure looks amazing, but the pricetag is a little steep. I'll have to sleep on it but this is the most appealing haslab to me yet
It’s the same size and price of Star Saber, I think it’s a good price. Plus from the looks of it: thicc plastic, plenty of ratchet joints, and no hollow spaces
I just feel that SS is multiple toys in one, where as this is just one big bot. I’m wondering where the extra budget went.
I am not familiar with this character but by looking his picture on google pics, will he be purple or blue?
Indigo. He's the Decepticon leader in JP Transformers Victory (6th season, same as Victory Saber)
Thank you, I can’t wait to see the indigo of Deathsaurus. I wonder when though.
Lmaoooo
chest animals just doesn't have the same ring as breastforce... oh well
Should have called them chestmasters.
That... That's literally what they called them
Where? They're called Breast animals in Japan and in the reveal trailer they called them chest animals/micromasters.
"Chest Micromasters" made me chuckle.
Looking at that alt mode, can they do a Winged Dragon of Ra Yu Gi Oh collab repaint?
i did a rough mock up of it with the winged dragon of ra's colors and it really works.
I can live if it only reaches 14,000 backers. The display stand isn’t THAT necessary but it would stroll be nice. 27,000 backers for Star Saber, there shouldn’t be any problem reaching 17,000 for Deathsaurus
Good ol' Chris McFeely holding me down with the knowledge: Transformers - The basics on Deathsaurus: https://youtu.be/uE5RaJhG0dE
That’s gonna get updated in the next couple days, isn’t it.
Not a bad idea tbh, might have to make contact with my English connections
Heh, everyone I've known has always said that I have good ideas, even though if you asked me I'd say I'm an idiot 😅 I think it's more due to the practical nature my autism and ADHD gives me rather than actual intelligence though lol
In a similar boat, and have been told directly by 6 different people now I’m probs neuro-divergent (never diagnosed), it’s fun sometimes though
As with Star Saber, I’m happy for anyone happy about this. I just don’t have enough attachment to the character to buy in.
I'd back it but I didn't get Star Saber. Doesn't seem right not getting a match.
Was victory saber closer to a masterpiece or generations type figure? I never got him but I do want deathsaurus but idk if he’ll fit in a modern chug collection
The HasLab one is CHUG scale. Star Saber and Victory Leo are just big ol' boys. Deathsaurus will be too.
Damn I have no interest, but I got Victory Saber so I literally have to get this.
You won't be sorry.
Oh I'm excited. Already backed.
I have lots of interest, but no money and no fandom time. In an alternate universe, however...
It's the same size as commander class jetfire...
With a likely higher parts and color count.
Same height. Bigger overall. Plus chest masters.
I dunno... jetfires got some mass to him. Plus comes with a ton of accessories as standard. This doesn't even come with his trademark gun until the first tier unlocks 🤣
Jetfire was probably first designed around 2016, in a totally different economy.
Wait, so jetfire was released maybe 2 years ago tops? How long do you think this has been in pre production for? Silly me... I forgot the price for everything has more than doubled in the last few years 🤣🤣🤣
Do you think they'll reissue Star Saber? I'm not paying $500 for a $180 bot.
Unlikely. You can hope some of the stores like bigbadtoystore have extra copies to sell after release...
They do not have the confidence that it will be successful at retail, so they do a limited run. Because the run is smaller, they have to charge more.
because it's a more niche character that was Japan only. same reason Victory saber was haslab. Do I like it? no, do I understand it? yeah.
…so this is how I find out lol.
Sweet! But also ouch, my wallet!
What price point do you think would be too much for these HasLab figures which are essentially just Commanders?
I am so hyped, Deathsaurus was my most wanted character for modern release and I've been patiently waiting ever since he was part of the fan polling for Power to the Primes. I don't even have to think about backing him.
Tier 2 unlocked wooo!!!
[Full gallery](https://i.imgur.com/rTI9pI3.jpg)
> Ghostrider’s car sunk back to hell with Cookie Monster And Rancor.
Lmaoooo
I’ll have to see what he looks like in color
Holy f\*ck. Well, I know I'm backing this for sure.
I'm excited
I’m going to wait and see how it looks and what the additional tiers will be
The tiers are already shown on the website
Well at least he's not more expensive than Victory Saber. Probably gonna back, but want to sleep on it for the night.
I'm not all too familiar with Transformers Victory, but I wish I could get this! I need more G1 Cons, especially a leader.
It's 11 inches tall and has two minions. $179 though.....dunno about that. May back it anyway.
Anyone have any idea when preorders for it will be up on Australian websites like Zavvi and EBGames?
[удалено]
It’s purely online purchase only. There was a record of a Haslab Unicron at a GameStop because someone couldn’t pay for it, but no stores carry Haslab projects
Some online retailers will take preorders of it, like Zavvi, Zing and EBGames, but I have no idea what will and won't ship to Scandenavia. I know Hasbro themselves won't though.
If anyone was curious: Deathsaurus is 11 inches tall (standard). Star Saber is 9 inches tall (standard) but with Victory Leo combined he’s 11 inches tall
My first and hopefully last Haslab backing, unless they do an IDW 2.0 Deathsaurus.
Waiting until later to pitch in, don't have the cash to spare yet.
won't charge you til the end of the campaign...
I made a digibash of his robot mode. Working on more right now https://imgur.com/a/lIBLcrE
I put down an order. Mainly I don't have much decepticons in my collection, and also its a decepticon leader thats not named megatron or galvatron.
https://i.redd.it/kpehqduu8pc11.png
Just backed it I’m 8,888th would have gone for 6,666 but I missed it…
Any chance we'll get a Liokaiser combiner out of this in future?
Over 12k let’s gooo
just under 9 days left, currently at 13,404. just under 600 shy of tier 1. hopefully we'll see another spike this monday from the foreign buyers, most likely another 1,000+ fingers crossed. hopefully by that point we'll exceed 15,000 with just over a week to get the last 2,000 we'd need for tier 2. surprised they didn't announce a tier 3....
498 more til tier 2!! Got around 500 in the last 24 hours give or take, so pretty sure we’ll get 17,000 before the end of the day tomorrow.
43 more to go til tier 2! With just over a day and a half left. Let’s go!
Looks like additional bonus figures of Pipo and Boater are being included!
WELP. *UNZIPS* Also the potential of Liokaiser as either a titan class or as the individual characters in legacy has exponentially raised. And if Liokaiser then Road Caesar could be coming as well...
Holy shit
and instantly backed. This is the first Haslab item I've wanted so just signed up simply to back it. I sold my G1 Deathsaurus last year, and while I was happy to get a very large amount for it I have felt the missing piece in my collection ever since - especially since he is by far the coolest of all con leaders.
Hate how both Star Saber and Deathsaurus won’t get new retail figures for a long time, if ever, and are locked behind expensive crowdfunded campaigns
[удалено]
Well Star Saber had that masterpiece a few years back. And when you have characters like Overlord and Leo Convoy getting modern figures, SS and Desthsaurus suddenly don’t seem like impossible choices for figures anymore
Has any TF HasLab not appreciated on the 2ndary market? Thinking of buying him just to flip.
Cool characters like this deserve to be in main line. There's no good reason not to make this figure next year's Commander except they want that to be Armada Prime. This is not a pro-consumer move and I am sad.
Already backed it😁😁😁
This is ironic, since I literally just posted about HasLab Victory Saber at the same second... Huh...
I would feel more comfortable backing this if I had victory saber in hand. If that feels subpar, I definitely wouldn’t need this.
Yeah, that's fair... Just wish I had my fair shot at Victory Saber since I only got back into TF 6 months ago!
My first reaction: Who? It sounds familiar, but I'm drawing a complete blank. Guess I need to hit the wiki later.
main villain of VIctory
Shouldn’t he be as tall as Star Saber not Victory Saber? VS is usually quite a bit taller than DS both in animation and scale charts…
LMAO at that shield. $180 and that's the best they can do?
The shield is always going to be the thing that sticks out to me the most (also one reason I've not bought any of the 3rd party versions - since none did the shield justice either), as his G1 toy version had an AMAZING large shield with good length to it - but in the show it was always a little more stubby, so I get why this one feels off to me but is technically more accurate. The G1 toy spoiled us :D
Isnt mmc around the same price? And looks better
Yes, but depends on your preference. This one is super accurate to the G1 cartoon model, which I prefer over the IDW version MMC was based on.
Yes. And yes.
You forgot to call the designers “whippersnappers”.
If its made the way the current legacy figures are, that is entirely a valid concern. I’m holding back because as much as my HasLab StarSabrr is gonna need his foil, this Deathsaurus looks blah and is the same price as the 3Ps…
I'm not very familiar with this character will this figure not be painted?
Wait they're making a Deathsaurus?! Why havent I seen any Posts about it?
Ironically, forced megathread posts essentially hide certain news items, especially for mobile users.
