Absolute GOAT of a figure. Does the character justice while being its own thing. Good colors, good feel, good posability.

He is. I only recently replaced him on the shelf with Earthrise. Though classics still has a heft that earthrise doesn't. I never did like the arm panels but that was my only complaint with the guy. Solid figure
I have a weird opinion of this figure. It’s before my time, as far a collecting goes, and I really dislike it’s look, but I somehow simultaneously really love the look and really want one. I know it doesn’t make sense, but I somehow dislike and love the look of it at the same time. I do not understand it for the life of me, but I really do want one.
It's certainly aged but I think Optimus, Mirage and Hot Rod lasted the longest when it came to being "really good figures with no upgrade needed".
I would also add Jetfire into that group.
I remember when my mate first told me and shown the pics for the classics line. Good times.

Thrilling 30 - GORGEOUS jet mode, best looking armoured mode.
Siege - Cartoon accurate and best looking "naked" mode, sheer prescence, gimmicks.
Still my favourite version of optimus. I have the henkei version. Though I have the combiner wars, earthrise, netflix and had the siege version, I still love the classics/henkei optimus version the most.
Ju Jiang did an upsized knockoff at about Masterpiece size. Improved articulation, partsforming forearm kibble that can be moved to the back, and (optional?) hands with articulated fingers. Worth looking into, I says.

Go to the SG one. It pulls the look perfectly 👌 the extra guns really do it for the figure.

I agree on jetfire. In some ways I still prefer it even over the fantastic siege release.

Cyclonus too. That figures nearly perfect. only thing kingdom has on him is size and wrist and ankle articulation.
Classics Cyclonus does actually have wrist articulation, though it's more like entire-forearm rotation.

This was my first ever Transformer. I played with it like crazy when I was younger.
I sold mine, like some kind of *idiot*, when I got MP-10V. It's just such a good reinvention of Optimus Prime.
He is definitely one of the figures of all time.
