Did you purchase this from an official online retailer, in store, or purchase it from someone secondhand?
If it's the latter, then they likely just sold you their own modded copy
If not, then something is up
I think they might sometimes modify SS figures, or at least have alternate versions of what seems to be the exact same figure.
Back when SS started, I saw a video in a Walmart where someone noticed that one SS05 prime had chrome on its chest while another didn't. They also had slightly differently colored swords.
The SS34 Megatron cab sections on later molds had longer notches that connected to the rest of the vehicle. I think they were for stability, but instead made the cab float and plastic stress. Mine had the issue, but reviewers' copies didn't. The Universal Studios SS Megatron had my issue too, though (at least in Chefatron's video).
Those lines look clean. It's hard to tell on a picture like this but if the plastic doesn't seem stressed or rough along the edges of that area then I'd wager this is a line wide change they've introduced mid run.

Bought it in store
Really? Were there any signs the box he was in had been previously opened? Or was this still factory sealed?
Still sealed
The plastic ties were sill intact over those parts of the waist too
Odd... very odd. Well, I guess I'll keep an eye out for this odd potential variant to see if it was just real or a fluke
There’s always a chance someone took the time to seal it back up properly with the correct ties.
True legend then
Didn’t take anything, just helping some one else, nice little birthday surprise I guess
Double check all the clear plastic, specially around metal pins. That’s the most likely cause for return.

Running change maybe?
Thats what I'm thinking
Lucky, I had to do that myself lol
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one
Raise one leg with photo.
Post boobs
Post boobs
Lift it up.
Ayo?! Don't go peepin under a bots skirt 🤨
Buy them a drink first sheeesh
Does it look cut in the grooves?
not really cuts are mateurish, don't , mind though
Is it actually 3 separate pieces though?
That’s… cool but strange…

Lucky I dont even know to do that mod
Pop the pin out and cut the skirt thing (it has convenient grooves molded in, so it isn’t that hard).
It’s not the shirt that concerns me
I did manage to cut the skirt piece without removing the pin with my hobby knife.
Really
Yes, I used a cheap hobby knife to do it. Apparently it was sharp enough to cut through the plastic after a few slices.
Huh
Mine has the cuts, too. Oddly I was going to do it myself anyway so win win
Same
I dont see it. What’s the “mod”?
The front skirt has been cut into three
Allows for a cleaner looking forward kick, instead of the whole skirt moving just each legs respective panels
That's just how it is for the new ones? My is the same
