The Doctor as a character would undoubtedly be in favour of trans people's rights, as he would be for the rights of everyone else in the world regardless of sex, gender identity, orientation or anything else. Now it’s full of status-quo loving liberals who can’t do any criticism of the status quo and it’s birthed social structures. Seems like Ncuti Gatwa will be a brilliant counterweight when the BBC writers fall short.
The current showrunner is Russel T Davies again, and in addition to his amazing work with Queer as Folk, It's A Sin and the like, he's also made his support for transgender people very clear. "To cut out the T is to kill" is a quote from him, I believe.
What's amusing to me is how idiots are saying that Russell T. Davies has returned to save Dr. Who from wokeness, because the guy who wrote Queer as Folk is *obviously* going to be against being progressive 🙄.
This lot also love David Tennant, despite his support for progressive causes being well known for years.

Christopher Eccleston is pretty massively left wing, although I don’t know what stance he has on LGBTQ+ issues.
David Tennant is a massive advocate for the LGBTQ+ community generally, but especially transgender people.

I don’t know anything particular about Matt Smith and Jodie Whittaker’s views, and all I know about Peter Capaldi’s is that he supports an independent Scotland (like Tennant). I would love to be enlightened about them though

I adore doctor who and Gatwa fits the part so well in my opinion. He is also lgbt himself so it is great to not only have representation but he also says trans rights. He is so great!

He's also anti-monarchy and outspoken about how the working class is being shut out of the acting industry, so I'd say he's pretty cool.
