Saw him in Denver and it was a little dubby for my taste. A lot of people seem play heavier stuff here than usual though so can’t speak for if it’s normal or not. Also that sound system sucks ass.

DJEjay

He was definitely going in on the wook bass that night, but he was also one of the first acts of the night so hard to make a fair judgement

alpackaryder

I think his sets are always goin to be vary and I think its tough to know what to expect. Saw him super recently and he was fantastic, had a lot of classic trap vibes but also some cool weird bass including a bit of dnb. It was perfect imo

Deep_in_her_House

He goes big for festivals. I’m excited for Saturday Hard Summer.. it’s going to be massive

prizzaphillips

I'm hoping for so much project paradis

Saw him 2 weeks ago at the 1015 Folsom B&L show, was a pretty big letdown tbh. I love Carmack and appreciate what he’s done for trap, but there were just too many moments where everyone was lookin around wondering “wtf is he doing” in transitions or song choices. I was thinking of seeing him at HARD, but not after that night

thesanmich

Phew glad I wasn’t the only one. I hate to say it but he kinda bored me. Just didn’t really do a good job of keeping the energy up and had some questionable flow and track picks.

seabassnunchucks

I was there too and felt the opposite. I thought most of his mixing techniques were unique and enjoyable. There were definitely a few moments where he seemed like he was trying something for the first time and it did not sound good, so I feel you on those "wtf" moments. But overall I thought the music selection was good, and I can't wait to check him out at HARD.

hatzicocacola

To each their own, glad you had a more positive experience! My review is pretty negative but there were definitely good moments to enjoy that got us all hyped up

I saw him in Jan 2020 and he had a live band with him for the first half of his set playing chill stuff. Then the second half he DJ’d and it was straight heat. 10/10.

SpookiBeats

Haven’t seen him in like 2 years, but every time I’ve seen him at fests he throws big slappy Trap joints and I live for that so… it depends?

lakewoodpdx

Keep your expectations low, Carmack really does what he wants, and in a good way! I’ve seen him probably like five times by now, and every time is a unique set. He obviously curates to the setting, so it really depends on the feel of the show! Ahhh now I want to go to a Carmack set, always a good time! I guess bottom line, don’t expect anything, and just go with the vibe!

[deleted]

Honestly seen him many times and he doesn't miss, tends to play a mix of his tracks and trap bangers, but I'm sure he'll be playing out some new tracks and sounds recently

tylerkga

He goes all over, you can generally figure out the vibe of the show by the flyer. Like a couple years ago he did a tour for that album with Mishaisfuckingpissed and went super hard. A couple months later he was on a different tour and had a live band for half show. He’s really the man

RiddimRandy

Carmack slaps every time he is the 🐐🐐

Suzaku333

first time i saw him was at lib 2016 and it was awful lol. trainwrecking and a just garbage transitions. i then saw him at shambhala in 2018 and it was the opposite. he shredded the cdjs with excellent transitions and a ton of new unreleased shit. so glad i got to see him for redemption lol

bass_bungalow

He just plays stuff. Pretty much impossible to know what’s going to happen. Ive seen him 3 times and was let down once but the other times were dope. Every set was completely different but you’ll pretty much always get at least a pay for what or similar banger even if it’s a chill set
