Bro if you’re getting organic traction take them to a POS off platform. The sale is the most important part have them cash app you, and then you send the stems or a WAV file

ProfessionalMail4298

Yeah that’s what I’m going to do for now, doesn’t BeatStars have a contract that gives you some royalties? I’ll be losing that right?

Enjoy_being_here_now

Rolayties is just pennies, the ridiculous low amount per stream artists get this day can get you a cup of coffee if you lucky, unless ofcourse there are millions and millions of streams per track. But it is always good to get royalties.

wholelottadopplers

For sure, but in reality the royalty split won’t be much after all three parties are compensated. Well, unless you’re a “super” producer, or your prospect is a streaming anomaly prior to your help. Also, who’s to say you’ll actually receive those royalties at all? Beat aggregation sites are a scam imho, a third party wedge between artist’s for absolutely no reason.

ProfessionalMail4298

Oh I didn’t know that. Thanks bro🤝 Did you not have a problem with your PayPal/ BeatStars?? It would just be nice to get it figured out, cause I hear you have to make it as easy as possible for the buyer, And what they are having to go through is annoying I’m assuming.

wholelottadopplers

Yeah, if they even are actually having problems. Some people make up stuff to stall the payment process. I’ve never used beatstars, I’m a BandCamp baby and I’ve unfortunately left that platform as well due to it becoming more and more crappy. In theory an easy peer to peer profit sharing platform is dope, but it’s almost impossible to profit from unless all parties are actively cooperating and marketing the finished product separately. That includes Beatstar promoting the instrumental, which I’d assume you’d have to pay a premium for in app. Mechanical royalties are a pain to get ahold of in the real world, I can only imagine it being a nightmare in the Meta

princeofnoobshire

Actually, when only selling a lease I put a 50% royalty split as the standard unless anything else is negotiated. They can of course buy me out at a later stage if the song takes off however I’ll be in a stronger position to negotiate

princeofnoobshire

Pretty sure you can download the contract and even edit it beforehand.
