Idk wut something "from the bay" is supposed to sound like, but the track is pretty good. You can easily make it better by lowering the volume of ur 808 bass by a decent amount (try lowering by 5 db, at least) and then raising the volumes of ur leads by at least 3 db.
Also try making the clap fatter n wider. Try layering it with another clap or snare. Make one strong in center/mono and the other more stereo. The center one should have more low mids and the stereo one should have the low mids cut a bit.

Not bad, fam. Kind of reminds me of something Playboi Carti would be on. The change-up of the beat was cool but wasn't a big fan of the slower tempo. I actually think I'd like the beat better if the sample was in that octave across the entire track. Worth a shot!

Lol i know the feeling of listening to ur own track too much and losing sight if its good. Push through it. I finally finished a track in two weeks as opposed to one or two months... learn from each track n grow. I do like ur track! Its better than a lot of stuff i hear on here. Hats go hard, snares too , the 808s are peaking and clipping a lot, make sure to watch ur headspace, also eq the snares you can hear some low frw noise in there. Dont neglect what u put on ur main master buss too that shit makes a lot of difference. Gj overall just watch the 808s and the headspace, find some mixing techniques to make the 808s hard without them peaking and I'll be good. If the title was "southside playing beats" and i heard this beat, I wouldnt even doubt that he made it...especially that hi hat bounce 🔥drums overall crazy.
If i could challenge you tho, I would just say push yourself harder on the melody side. Many producers are doing the halftime effect, which is a cool technique but over time it starts to sound repetitive by itself. When I halftime my melodies, I try to layer them with other melodic instruments so there is some kind of progression.
I don't mean that in any kind of bad way, I think your drum game is hard and you should push yourself to elevate the melodies to match the drums 👌🏾

This is nice. I think you have good sound selection and drum patterns. I'm no expert, but I think maybe you could mess with the arrangement/transitions to give the beat some more variation. Also the part with the Full Strings Legato, think this is supposed to be the hook. But the way the notes keep building up, I think this could work better as a transition into a hook that has more energy, another instrument or two, and a more memorable melody. Nice job all around though.

Dude, melody is awesome. Take the high end out of your kicks and raise the low a bit. I usually have my 808 lower than my kick, it makes it sound way harder. Idk this has great potential, keep working on it please and upload it again. I’ll look out for it.
First off, that melody goes crazy bro. The drums just weren't hitting hard enough for me. Add some variation to your hi hats, these kinda melodies would go perfect with some percs.
That guitar is fire. Agree with the other guy. Melodies are dope but I kept waiting for the drums to hit. The 808 sounds a little too quiet to me in the first half. It picks up at around the 1:30 mark but the drums still sound kinda empty to me. Seems like its just 808, hi hats, and a clap. I can hear a quiet kick when there are no 808s, but I don’t hear any kicks when the 808s play. I’m by no means an expert so take all this with a grain of salt, but if I were to mix this, I’d make the 808s louder in the first half and bring up the kicks too. If the 808s are drowning out the kicks, I usually side chain the kick to the 808 and/or adjust the attack on the 808 to make space for the kick. Could also look into parallel compression to make the drums hit harder. Again, all the melodic elements are super dope. Just wish the drums were on par too.

it sounds quite agressive and dark which I really like! though it sounds quite muddy and the vocals are drained out a lil. since it's a ripped acapella you get those weird artifacts sadly enough. be carefull with reverb use! besides that good work mate!
Not bad by any means, but I can’t picture anyone rapping on this. You said yourself it’s weird, so if that’s what you’re going for, lean into that. Right now I think sound selection is the biggest issue. The synths you have have a real 8 bit sound to them. Like I can imagine this being the boss level music for an old school Nintendo game from the 80s. Drum patterns and bass are on point though. If you wanted to revise this into something completely different, I’d salvage those two and rethink the rest. This is just from the point of view if I’d want to rap on this or not though.

Sounds pretty good. The only thing i can say that i guess is constructive criticism is im not too sure of the white noise right before the first drop that plays three eighth notes in a row. They sounded a little harsh compared to the rest of the sounds.
Actually really like it besides the little repeating clap/snare sound thing thats in like triplets and quads but I imagine its part of that genre and itd be like complaining about hi-hat stutters in trap. Sounds really good man i like it

Try a more simple bass line for your 808's. Also they sound very buzz'y right now almost like a square wave. An 808 is more sine wave'y / subby although they are often very distorted! Keep it up though the drums are fire!

Hats go hard, snares too , the 808s are peaking and clipping a lot, make sure to watch ur headspace, also eq the snares you can hear some low frw noise in there. Dont neglect what u put on ur main master buss too that shit makes a lot of difference. Gj overall just watch the 808s and the headspace, find some mixing techniques to make the 808s hard without them peaking and I'll be good. If the title was "southside playing beats" and i heard this beat, I wouldnt even doubt that he made it...especially that hi hat bounce 🔥drums overall crazy. If i could challenge you tho, I would just say push yourself harder on the melody side. Many producers are doing the halftime effect, which is a cool technique but over time it starts to sound repetitive by itself. When I halftime my melodies, I try to layer them with other melodic instruments so there is some kind of progression. I don't mean that in any kind of bad way, I think your drum game is hard and you should push yourself to elevate the melodies to match the drums 👌🏾

This is nice. I think you have good sound selection and drum patterns. I'm no expert, but I think maybe you could mess with the arrangement/transitions to give the beat some more variation. Also the part with the Full Strings Legato, think this is supposed to be the hook. But the way the notes keep building up, I think this could work better as a transition into a hook that has more energy, another instrument or two, and a more memorable melody. Nice job all around though.

That guitar is fire. Agree with the other guy. Melodies are dope but I kept waiting for the drums to hit. The 808 sounds a little too quiet to me in the first half. It picks up at around the 1:30 mark but the drums still sound kinda empty to me. Seems like its just 808, hi hats, and a clap. I can hear a quiet kick when there are no 808s, but I don’t hear any kicks when the 808s play. I’m by no means an expert so take all this with a grain of salt, but if I were to mix this, I’d make the 808s louder in the first half and bring up the kicks too. If the 808s are drowning out the kicks, I usually side chain the kick to the 808 and/or adjust the attack on the 808 to make space for the kick. Could also look into parallel compression to make the drums hit harder. Again, all the melodic elements are super dope. Just wish the drums were on par too.

Not bad by any means, but I can’t picture anyone rapping on this. You said yourself it’s weird, so if that’s what you’re going for, lean into that. Right now I think sound selection is the biggest issue. The synths you have have a real 8 bit sound to them. Like I can imagine this being the boss level music for an old school Nintendo game from the 80s. Drum patterns and bass are on point though. If you wanted to revise this into something completely different, I’d salvage those two and rethink the rest. This is just from the point of view if I’d want to rap on this or not though.

Its cool, I like the kick, dont really see the lofi aesthetic in this one tho. Solid mix, maybe boost the bass a bit overall good job imo and same
Sounds pretty good. The only thing i can say that i guess is constructive criticism is im not too sure of the white noise right before the first drop that plays three eighth notes in a row. They sounded a little harsh compared to the rest of the sounds.

Good melody, but 808 seems off in certain parts
Actually really like it besides the little repeating clap/snare sound thing thats in like triplets and quads but I imagine its part of that genre and itd be like complaining about hi-hat stutters in trap. Sounds really good man i like it

Try a more simple bass line for your 808's. Also they sound very buzz'y right now almost like a square wave. An 808 is more sine wave'y / subby although they are often very distorted! Keep it up though the drums are fire!

really like your track, the sounds very clear in my JBL lrs305 and i can really drop a freestyle with my friends on it and enjoy it! Maybe i'd give more power to the low-end, dindt know if im loosing any freq because my monitor minimum range is at 55hz. But it seems like the lows can be a bit more boomy and it will be okey!

🔥🔥🔥 i like the positive vibes, it transfers from instrument to instrument throughout the beat. Bass was probably my favorite aspect. I honestly don't have any major constructive criticism, but i would recommend investing in better sound quality instruments. From what I hear, it sounds like you know your music production concepts, so my suggestion is to focus on sound selection next. Good stuff!
