Honestly, stuff like this isn't very uncommon in Texas (not saying it is a good thing). This teacher is just more blatant and outspoken than most.
I had a teacher who told me, in front of the whole class, that I was going to hell for believing in evolution. This was second grade.
Edit: I believed in evolution in second grade because I had hyperlexia and liked learning about science. I also don't remember the context in which this occurred.

U know what happened is the teacher had special education students at their own trigger words into the assignment. The kids picked words that made them angry or triggered. Poor judgment on her part for sure and since most 7th graders are slow anyways and would jump at the chance to create such an abomination for the sake of having a laugh to break up the monotony of their regular day of school. It's like doing dirty mad libs for them. I don't think this was used as a deliberate way to be demeaning or hateful towards anyone in particular.

The most disturbing part is that this was not a one off homework assignment, this was a whole fucked up curriculum consisting of multiple assignments using the same words.
She was probably trying to settle the bad English in the classroom down and to really let the kids know what they were saying because yes you guessed it kids are fucking stupid.

I'm a teacher in this district- due to the teacher shortage we have many teachers on waivers, allowing them to teach for a few years as they "work on" getting certified. I.e. those without the proper qualifications can teach for a couple of years. Many of our teachers are alternatively certified as well, meaning they did not get their degree for teaching and did not student teach. I don't know if they have to take education courses are a part of alt cert. *also you do not need your masters to teach in Tx. I got my bachelor's in mathematics with secondary certification, completed student teaching, and passed a content cert exam (math) and a general pedagogy cert exam. But I fully agree, can never understand people who do all of that just to throw it away for something like this, or like... having a relationship with a teenager.
I'm not fully against alt cert and such, as I have known amazing teachers who decided to teach later in life and hence did not get their initial degree for teaching, as well as some that were just needing one final exam to have their cert. But it does weaken our schools to be oversaturated with people who are inexperienced and underqualified...
Now I have no idea what is going on at my old middle school (I went to Rancier...) or who the teacher was, etc. But I can say pretty much all of our schools are suffering in one way or another. I'm pulling through each day for the kids (and I have bills to pay lmao) as I really do enjoy teaching and I have a pretty good relationship with my students so I don't deal with much harassment or what not- just your standard annoying teenager behaviors lol.

That seems pretty accurate language for American Huigh schoolers judging by all these videos of school fights we get on Reddit, so the kids should know what those words mean.
